After Reliance owned JioCinema successfully streamed the IPL 2023 for free, rival Disney+ Hotstar will follow suit for the upcoming Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup. Now, the OTT platform will allow subscribers to watch these tournaments on their mobile phones for free in an effort to, quote-unquote, "democratise the game of cricket" and to make it more accessible to as many mobile users in India as possible.
