This June 2026, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) launched on-site inspections of six of the country’s largest ice cream manufacturers—including Meiji, Lotte, Morinaga, and Ezaki Glico—on suspicion of forming an illegal price-fixing cartel.
