At least three United Nations peacekeepers have been killed in southern Lebanon within 24 hours as fighting intensifies in the region. Two peacekeepers died after an explosion of unknown origin destroyed their vehicle, while another was killed in a separate projectile strike near a UN position.
Indonesia confirmed that all three casualties were part of its contingent serving under the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), with several others injured in the attacks.
The incidents mark a sharp escalation and have drawn strong condemnation from the United Nations, which warned that attacks on peacekeepers could amount to violations of international humanitarian law.
The exact source of the attacks remains unclear, with investigations underway as tensions continue to rise amid ongoing military operations in southern Lebanon.
