A Guardian investigation has uncovered Israel’s secretive $1.2 billion cloud deal with Google and Amazon codenamed Project Nimbus. The contract allegedly includes a covert “winking” system to alert Israel when its data is accessed abroad and forbids Big Tech from restricting Israel’s use of its cloud, even if linked to human rights abuses.
