A group of Iranians living in the United Kingdom rallied in central London on Saturday (July 27) calling for tougher sanctions against the Iranian regime. Several hundred demonstrators protested, waved signs and flags and chanted in Trafalgar Square.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran group, which organized the demonstration, is calling for the UK to take on a tougher stance as tensions between the West and Iran continue to grow. The group also called on the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and the Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei's office to be listed as terrorist entities by the United Kingdom, a press release stated. Member of Parliament for Hendon, Matthew Offord, who attended the rally said he was using it as an opportunity to send a message to new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
