The United States has temporarily relaxed restrictions on Iranian oil at sea, in a move aimed at easing pressure on global energy markets. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the waiver could help unlock around 140 million barrels of oil. The decision comes as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to disrupt supply, signalling a shift in Washington’s approach to stabilising energy flows.
