Indian Workers Safe In Israel Says Ambassador Reuven Azar

The new Israeli ambassador to India Reuven Azar has said that Indian workers are working in safe areas of the country, far from the conflict. According to estimates, around 9000-10000 Indian workers are in the country. Speaking to our diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, Ambassador Azar said, 'Distance between workers and dangerous places. Workers working in places not dangerous". This is the new Israeli ambassador's first TV interview since taking charge. He said that Israel plans to to invest 35 bn in infrastructure and "we want to invite Indian companies in international tenders. We don't have any metros, and we would like Indian companies to come". In the extensive interview, the Israel Ambassador spoke on current situation with Gaza, Labanon. Asked if Israel is violating international humanitarian law in Gaza, the Ambassador said, "we are a democracy and we respect intl humanitarian law. Terrorist take advantage to take immunity for operatives. We saw it in Gaza and in Lebanon." In October, Israel marks one year of terror attacks by Hamas. Asked, if Indian Arms shipments have been going to Israel, he pointed,'cannot comment on shipments. We have defence industry...Israel buys mainly American system and produces it's own.
