India Tightens Grip On Online Gaming: New Gaming Rules to Take Effect From May 1

The India government has rolled out new rules to regulate the fast-growing online gaming sector. A proposed Online Gaming Authority will oversee platforms, while banks and payment gateways will be required to verify games before processing transactions. Set to take effect from May 1, the move aims to curb fraud, protect users, and bring accountability to the industry, marking a major shift in how online gaming operates in the country.
