Senior IPS officer Rakesh Agarwal has been appointed as the new Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The 1994-batch officer will lead India’s premier counter-terror probe agency until August 31, 2028, following approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
