India has appointed Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth as the next Chief of Army Staff, with effect from June 30, 2026. A highly experienced officer with decades of service, Lt Gen Seth will take over the leadership of one of the world's largest armies at a time of evolving security challenges and military modernisation.
