Green favelas! Solar energy lights up Rio de Janeiro's slums
Favelas in Rio de Janeiro are tapping into green energy, with homes in the Brazilian city's slums fitted with solar panels. This solar project is called Revolu Solar and was launched in 2015 with the objective of providing homes in Rio's favelas with clean, reliable and affordable energy. So far, homes in Babilonia and Chapeu Mangueira have received panels.
