The heirs of Ed Townsend, who wrote the 1973 slow jam classic "Let's Get It On" with Marvin Gaye, are suing the British singer-songwriter. They claim that Sheeran's 2014 song unlawfully appropriated the anthem's harmonic progressions, melodic structures, and rhythmic elements.
