China Blames U.S. for $13 Billion Bitcoin Heist | ‘State-Level Hack,’ Says Beijing

China has accused the United States of stealing $13 billion worth of Bitcoin in what it calls a “state-level hacker operation.” Beijing’s cybersecurity agency alleges that U.S. authorities were behind the 2020 LuBian Bitcoin mining pool hack, one of the largest crypto breaches in history. Washington, however, has charged Cambodian billionaire Chen Zhi with money laundering linked to the same funds, deepening tensions between the two powers.
