Israel’s defence ministry has allocated $530 million to accelerate the development of its new laser air defence system known as “Iron Beam”. This new weapon system is aimed at improving the interception of drones and other projectiles, amid the country's conflict with Iran and its proxies in the region. Does this mean that the much coveted Iron Dome has become less and less reliable to defend Israeli skies?
