Birds and other wildlife are flourishing in Beijing, all thanks to ecological conservation efforts that have significantly increased forest coverage rates. After years of gradual afforestation, the Chinese capital's forest cover has reached 44.8 percent. Local authorities in Beijing have pointed out the city's bird diversity, one of the strongest among global metropolises.
