Video: Chennai's 'real zombie' incident shows White man trying to eat motorcyclist's neck

An intoxicated foreign national was captured on camera trying to bite a motorcyclist in Chennai's Royapettah area. The incident prompted immediate intervention from both the bystanders as well as the law enforcement.

The man can be seen without a shirt and lunging at the unsuspecting motorcyclist while trying to bite his neck.

The video of the incident is now viral on social media. It depicts the exact moment the intoxicated individual targets the man's neck.

While the man was left shaken and can be seen taken aback by a reaction of shock, the crowd quickly gathered around the scene. The perpetrator was then subdued against an iron railing as police restrained him.

People on the internet even spun the incident into a plethora of memes and dark humour.

"Real zombie", said one user on X, formerly Twitter; "Maybe he wanted to taste Indian meat," another wrote.

"Since when we have Philadelphia drugs here [in India]," a third user wrote.

A fourth user quipped that "This is how the Biden government behaves now."

"This is how it always starts we all must be prepared after Covid-19 this is zombie 2024," another user wrote on X.

It remains unclear what action the law enforcement personnel took against the intoxicated individual seen in the viral video. The identity, in terms of which countrythe person is from, alsocould not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, some netizens expressed suspicions that the foreign national was under the influence of drugs. The erratic and consequentially aggressive nature of his behaviour prompted people to flag drug abuse of all kinds.

Globally, according to an estimate by the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, between 155 and 250 million people, or 3.5 per cent to 5.7 per cent of the population aged 15-64, had used illicit substances at least once in 2023. Cannabis users comprise the largest number of illicit drug users (129-190 million people).
