The historic document, which marked the United States’ separation from British rule, is nearly 250 years old and requires strict preservation measures.
It is currently housed in the rotunda of the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, where it is stored in an oxygen-free, argon-filled glass case. To protect it from light exposure and other environmental factors, access to the case is tightly controlled.
Due to the document’s fragile condition, some of Trump’s aides were initially hesitant about the proposal. However, discussions have since shifted towards possibly displaying historical copies rather than the original.

'Alarming': Trump wanted 'original' US Declaration of Independence as Oval Office decoration. What is it?

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday night (Mar 4) delivered his first speech at the Congress after reassuming office. His speech was filled with 'thank yous' something the Trump administration is particular about. The president showed gratitude towards Indian-origin FBI Director Kash Patel and applauded him for his work. Bestowing faith on Patel, Trump wants to clean the justice system that was 'turned upside down by radical left lunatics.'
The 78-year-old touted his administration has been working to 'restore fair, equal, and impartial justice'.
"Good luck and thank you, Kash," said Trump as the FBI director received a standing ovation from Republican lawmakers in the house.

The 47th President of America is very particular about expressing gratitude. In a recent meeting with Ukrainian President, both Trump and Vice President JD Vance were seen questioning Zelensky if he had thanked the president enough.
They didn't want no for an answer, but even Zelensky's 'yes' was not convincing them. So while making America great again, this administration will be thanking many.
"In recent years, our justice system has been turned upside down by radical left lunatics. Many jurisdictions virtually seized enforcing the law against dangers, repeat offenders while weaponising law enforcement against political opponents like me. My administration has acted swiftly and decisively to restore fair, equal, and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law," he said in his speech.

Elon Musk, one of the closest aides and biggest donors of Donald Trump, has been consistently present in the Oval Office alongside the US president. However, their relationship has not always been this cordial, reveals a Politico report.
The report citing a person in the meeting details the first encounter of the two men at the White House in 2020 during Trump’s first term in office, where the billionaire called the president a “f***ing moron”.

What happened at the White House?

In 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump learned about Musk’s plans to build a Tesla factory in Mexico instead of Texas and invited him to the White House to discuss the matter.
However, a source told Politico that Musk called Trump a “f***ing moron” behind his back in the White House before the meeting.
“We walk into the Oval, and he kind of looks around, and he’s looking around,” this person in the room said. “He’s like, ‘Gosh, I tell you. Super Bowl LIX winners Philadelphia Eagles have clarified their official stance on whether or not they'll be going to the White House. The team, on Monday (Feb 24), informed reporters following a meeting that they'd be happy to visit the President in the White House if invited.
The White House or President Donald Trump, however, have not extended any such invitation yet. The Eagles, meanwhile, are looking forward to it.
"The Eagles would be honored to visit The White House, team sources say. It’s one of the aspects of winning they are excited about and look forward to receiving the invitation," reported NFL's Ian Rapoport.

Any Championship winning sports team usually visits the White House to meet the sitting president to celebrate the victory. The tradition, however, was interrupted during the first term of President Trump when the Eagles, among other teams, refused to visit the White House in 2018.
An invitation was given to the Eagles following their 2018 Super Bowl victory, but after many players refused to go, the White House took down the invitation.
As for the current Super Bowl, Trump had made his support pretty clear for the Chiefs, whom the Eagles beat in Super Bowl LIX on Feb 8 earlier this month.

Eagles annihilate Chiefs in Super Bowl

The Super Bowl between the Chiefs and the Eagles wasn't much to talk about as Philadelphia crushed the two-time defending champions Kansas City 40-22.
The Chiefs, chasing a historic three-peat, were below par on a night when Eales QB Jalen Hurts was at his best. Hurts won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the game for his 17 of 22 passes attempted for a total of 221 yards, including two touchdowns. He also threw an interception, but that didn't matter in the final score.
With the win, the Eagles exacted their revenge for having lost to the Chiefs 35-28 in Super Bowl LVII in 2023 in a closely fought game.

Some of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) scientists have been told to stop using the words "woman", "disabled", and "elderly" in external communications, Reuters reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The FDA scientists said that a list with the file name "prohibited words" has been circulating since at least last week in official chats.
As the issue came under the spotlight, the White House spokesman said that a part of the list of banned terms had misinterpreted President Donald Trump's executive order.

The list is creating further confusion at an agency struggling with the Trump administration's sweeping firings.
Two FDA scientists, who requested anonymity, said that neither they nor their managers knew who issued the directive or why many of the more than two dozen words were included.
"I don't understand why we can't use a word like 'woman'," one FDA source who received the list told Reuters. "The words on the list would make it almost impossible to do our jobs."
The list reviewed by Reuters includes words like underrepresented, underserved, understudied, sex, identity, diverse, women, woman, promote, definition, continuum, ideology, self-assessed, special populations, elderly, and disabled.

White House calls it an ‘error’

The White House spokesman told Reuters that most of the words on the FDA list did not need to be removed from communications, adding that an error may have resulted from the FDA officials misinterpreting Trump's executive order against "gender ideology."
Further clarifying, the spokesman said that the FDA does need to prohibit the use of the words gender, inclusion, identity, diversity, inter, intersex, equity, equitable, transgender, and trans to comply with the order.

The experts stressed that such a move can threaten their ability to address all kinds of medical needs as they affect different groups, including those with HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.

BREAKING: Donald Trump holds talks with Jordan King at the White house

A federal judge has ruled that the White House failed to comply with his directive to release billions in federal grants, marking the first time a judge has explicitly said that the Trump administration has disregarded a court order.
Judge John J. McConnell Jr, presiding in a Rhode Island federal court, asked officials to follow what he described as "the plain text" of his ruling from Jan 29. He added that the order was "clear and unambiguous, and there are no impediments to the Defendants’ compliance."

Following Monday’s decision, Trump administration lawyers quickly appealed the judge’s ruling to the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, seeking a temporary hold on Judge McConnell’s order while the case proceeded.
“Each executive order will hold up in court because every action of the Trump-Vance administration is completely lawful. Any legal challenge against it is nothing more than an attempt to undermine the will of the American people,” said White House spokesman Harrison Fields.

Vance, Musk call for defying court orders

These legal developments signal a potential escalation in tensions between the executive and judicial branches, coming just a day after Vice President JD Vance said on social media that "judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power."
Elon Musk, owner of X called for the impeachment of a judge who had temporarily prevented his DOGE from accessing sensitive financial data held by the Treasury Department. Musk also reposted a comment from another user urging Trump to disregard judicial rulings.

Over 40 lawsuits against Trump’s executive orders

More than 40 lawsuits have already been filed challenging Trump’s actions, which include revoking birthright citizenship and granting Musk’s teams access to classified Treasury Department payment systems. Preliminary rulings from judges suggest that these actions, along with the funding freeze and other executive orders, may violate existing laws.
On Monday, courts continued to challenge the administration’s authority, issuing temporary blocks on attempts to cut health research grants and initiatives aimed at pressuring federal employees to resign.

Previously, Judge McConnell had ordered the White House to release federal funds that had been withheld by the budget office. A memo from the office stipulated that the grants should be suspended until they were assessed for alignment with President Trump’s policy agenda.
The judge refrained from holding the Trump administration in contempt or imposing any specific penalties for noncompliance. However, he made it clear that his previous temporary restraining order from January 29 had not been followed.

“These pauses in funding violate the plain text of the TRO,” Judge McConnell said. His earlier ruling had explicitly barred the administration from halting, freezing, blocking, or terminating funds that had already been allocated by Congress to support Medicaid, school meals, low-income housing subsidies, and other critical services.
The judge further added that White House officials were required to comply with the directive, regardless of their expectations about the case’s outcome.
