<p>Local residents discovered Saurabh Babbar's body at around 9:30 am (local time), stuck in a swamp along the riverbank. They informed the police who arrived at the scene and recovered the body. Identification was made through documents found in his wallet which also contained a mobile phone.</p>

<p>The preliminary investigation report into the derailment of the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express has revealed negligence by the railway engineering section as the possible cause of the accident.</p>

<p>The trail derailed in the Gonda district of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on&nbsp;Thursday (Jul 18), leaving four dead and several injured.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The report prepared by a six-member team of senior railway officials has claimed that workers knew&nbsp;about the fault in the track but no action was taken by the zipper hierarchy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A trackman, performing the duties of a keyman had warned a junior engineer about a defect in the track between Motiganj and Jhilahi approximately an hour (1:30 PM IST) before the accident. The section officer failed to show caution and the Dibrugarh Express crossed the section at high speed when it should have been cautioned.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“When IMR (immediate removal defect) was detected (at 1.30 pm), the site should have been protected till the caution order was served but it was not done due to which the train derailed. The engineering department is responsible for it,” the joint probe report, written in Hindi&nbsp;said.</p>

<p>Additionally, the investigation team found that cloth pieces were used with 72 elastic rail clips to fasten the rail track.&nbsp;Elastic rail clips (ERC) also known as pandrol clips are primarily used to fasten the rail with concrete sleepers in order to bring stability while high-speed trains cruise on the track.</p>

<p>“The fastening of the rail track was not proper, so the rail track was not secure,” the report added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At around 5:15 in the morning (local time) the double-decker sleeper bus en route from Bihar's Shivgarh to Delhi rammed into the tanker transporting milk on the expressway.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The collision as per visuals being shared online was so severe that both the vehicles were shattered into pieces. At least 18 people were killed in the tragedy and 19 injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.</p>

The man hailing from Soura village of Fatehpur district has been attacked multiple times by snakes in his area, and every time he was rushed to the hospital and treated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Mittal's wife Suman, at least eight to nine men barged into their house on June 18 and looted jewellery and cash at gunpoint. She also accused the men, including now-dead Farid of trying to molest her and other women in the house.</p>

<p>“After looting cash and jewellery, one of them directed others to escape, saying that he would follow them after checking more valuables were left in the house. When they were escaping, one among them fell on a staircase and was overpowered by my husband and the son while others, including the one left in the house, managed to escape,” the woman told the police.</p>

<p>Police said Farid was attacked by Mittal family members and nearby residents as he tried to escape. In a video doing rounds on social media, a mob can be seen beating Farid with sticks, punches and kicks.</p>

<p>Following the questioning, the police determined that no wrongdoing occurred, the report added. On Thursday, Carneal was safely taken to Delhi while Yadav spent the night at the police station waiting for his parents to come from Faridabad. The man was let off a day later.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The case was reported in Sector 20 of Indira Nagar. It falls in the jurisdiction of the Ghazipur police station.</p>

<p>At least eight poll officials have died in the eastern Indian state of Bihar in the last 48 hours due to a persistent heatwave. Authorities said 10 more people died in the state ahead of the seventh phase of Lok Sabha polls slated to be held on June 1. Out of 18 deaths, 11 occurred in Rohtas district, while six in Bhojpur and one in Buxar. Heatwave conditions have exacerbated in Bihar, where mercury has constantly touched over 44 degrees Celsius over the past several days.</p>

<p>The state has recorded the highest temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius this season so far.</p>

<p>Due to the fatal heatwave conditions, the state government on Wednesday (May 29) ordered all educational institutions to remain closed till June 8.</p>

<p>On Friday (May 31), at least 40 people died due to a heatwave in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Out of those 40, at least 25 were deployed on poll duty.</p>

<p>Akhilesh Yadav's rally in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia witnessed a security breach attempt by a man who ran towards the Samajwadi Party (SP) chief at lightning speed before being caught by the security personnel.</p>

<p>The video of the incident that surfaced on social media showed the man making an unsuccessful attempt to hop on the stage when the commandos caught hold of him and sent him back to where the crowd was seated.</p>

<p>This is the second such incident reported in a week's time.</p>

<p>Earlier, a stampede-like situation erupted in Prayagraj's Phulpur constituency when the crowd broke the barricades and almost approached the dais which forced Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Yadav to cut short their public meeting.</p>

<p>The workers of both parties went out of control and tried to get to the stage to meet Gandhi and Yadav. The situation worsened when the crowd barged through the barricades making it difficult for the police to contain the mob.</p>

<p>Gandhi and Yadav did not address the people and had to abruptly exit the campaign rally which was organised in support of Amarnath Maurya contesting from the Phulpur Lok Sabha seat on an SP ticket.</p>

<h2><strong>Yadav targets PM Modi for 'mujra' remark</strong></h2>

<p>Earlier today, the Samajwadi Party chief took a jibe at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'mujra' remark stating that the PM's speech was faltering because of his waning confidence.</p>

<p>"When the self-confidence is faltering, the speech also falters. There is a decrease in his confidence. And as a result, he is using such language," Yadav told reporters.</p>

<p>This came after PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Opposition INDIA bloc on Saturday (May 25) stating that he will not let them snatch away the reservation benefits constitutionally accorded to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities (OBCs), even if they perform "mujra" (dance) before their purported vote bank.</p>

<p>Indian defence ministry on Saturday (May 18) described as "completely misleading" some reports in a section of <a href="https://www.abplive.com/states/up-uk/lucknow-drdo-model-helicopter-stolen-questions-raised-on-the-municipal-corporation-ann-2692267">media </a>claiming that&nbsp;a&nbsp;dummy model of the Chinook helicopter prepared by the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) had been stolen.</p>

<p>Earlier reports said that the model was made to&nbsp;display&nbsp;it at the 2020 Defence Expo but later it went missing.</p>

<p>Indian defence ministry said no such replica was installed at the defence expo by the DRDO and the news articles claiming otherwise are misleading.</p>

<p>"News circulating about a&nbsp;DRDO-installed Chinook Helicopter Model &nbsp;at Lucknow during DefExpo 2020 missing, is misleading. Chinook is made by Boeing and&nbsp;DRDO has never installed any Helicopter Model at Lucknow anytime," the defence ministry said in a statement on X.</p>

<p>The exhibition&nbsp;was reportedly held&nbsp;in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh state. News reports said the replica became&nbsp;a&nbsp;popular&nbsp;spot&nbsp;during the expo as people flocked to take selfies of the life-sized structure.&nbsp;After the exhibition concluded, the replica was left there&nbsp;and&nbsp;the local municipal corporation&nbsp;was entrusted&nbsp;with&nbsp;the task of&nbsp;maintaining it, as per reports.</p>

Later, Lucknow Municipal Corporation claimed&nbsp;the replica had been sent&nbsp;for repairs to their "Rubbish and Removable" workshop in Gomti Nagar.</p>

News reports said the replica became a popular spot during the expo as people flocked to take selfies of the life-sized structure. Earlier it was reported that the municipal corporation had raised concerns about the structural integrity of the helicopter and decided to get rid of it. Later, Lucknow Municipal Corporation claimed the replica had been sent for repairs to their "Rubbish and Removable" workshop in Gomti Nagar.
