After a frantic search, they filed a missing person report at Ayodhya police station on Friday. They allege that the police did not actively search for her. PTI reported that the family hailed from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. They had been living in Bengaluru for about two years now. The man worked as a software consultant at a private firm.

Though the official cause for the couple to kill their kids and then die by suicide is not yet known, police sources said that one of the reasons could be an unfruitful financial transaction.

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his mother and four sisters at a hotel in Lucknow, the capital of the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday (Jan 1), police said, adding that the accused has been arrested.&nbsp;
Arshad, a 24-year-old man, who is a native of Agra city of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wionews.com/search?title=uttar+pradesh" rel="dofollow">Uttar Pradesh</a>, said that he took the step because of family disputes.&nbsp;
Arshad reportedly served his family food and alcohol laced with intoxicants. After a few hours, he allegedly killed them.&nbsp;

&ldquo;Today, the bodies of five people were found in a room of Hotel Sharan Jeet. The local police reached the spot, and a person named Arshad, around 24 years old, a resident of Agra, was detained," Raveena Tyagi, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), told Indian news agency ANI.&nbsp;
Arshad claimed that he killed his family members to "protect" them, alleging that their neighbours were eyeing their property in Agra and were also planning to sell his sisters in Hyderabad.&nbsp;

&ldquo;Our neighbours were trying to take over our property and planned to sell my sisters in Hyderabad. I couldn&rsquo;t let that happen,&rdquo; Arshad said in a recorded video, which is being shared on social media.&nbsp;

Arshad, after killing his mother and sisters, recorded a video of the crime and shared it online. In the video, he was showing the lifeless bodies of his mother and sisters, explaining how he killed them.&nbsp;
He claimed that continuous pressure and harassment from his community in Agra led him to commit the murder. He further alleged that his father, Badar, assisted him in the heinous act.&nbsp;

After committing the act, Arshad dropped his father at the railway station before going to the police station to give his confession.&nbsp;
The police also recovered the weapons used by Arshad to kill his family members, which included a blade and a dupatta.

India-listed Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on Dec 24 (Tuesday) released a video, threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In a viral video doing rounds on social media, Pannun is seen threatening to attack PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the Kumbh Mela 2025 which is set to take place in Prayagraj. He said his organisation, Sikhs For Justice, would take "revenge" for the encounter of three Khalistani terrorists. Pilibhit Police have noted the threat and said that legal proceedings against Pannun are underway. He further claimed that his organisation would “give an answer” (read as take revenge) for the encounter of Khalistani terrorists and threatened to launch attacks on the Maha Kumbh on January 14, January 29 and February 3 next year. Notably, these dates are auspicious of 'Shahi Snan'. He then reinstated that PM Modi and CM Yogi would be there in Prayagraj on these days and SJF would take revenge by "shaking the foundation" of "Hindutva terrorism", and will make this Maha Kumbh, the last Maha Kumbh for the two leaders. The three pro-Khalistani terrorists have been identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), members of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), a banned terror outfit. She also named two of Sahil's friends in the complaint. She said that after meeting Sahil for the first time in March, he invited her to a hotel for dinner later that month. 
The woman said that she had soft drinks and pizza, which were already kept in the room before she came. Later, she felt dizzy and lost her senses, further claiming that Sahil raped her, and she came to know about this after she regained consciousness. 
"When I protested to Sahil, he said that he is an agent of the intelligence agency RAW," she said in her complaint.
She added that Sahil asked her to marry him, adding that his life was in danger. He also told her that he had kept his identity a secret from his family. 
When she reached Canada, the woman informed Sahil about her pregnancy on Facebook messenger, after which he threatened her and immediately blocked her, as per the complaint.

The police said that they would arrest Sahil soon after completing the probe.
