In the CCTV footage obtained by NBC, Tran visibly moves out of the camera for about 30 seconds and returns to an empty lobby in the dance hall wrestling with Tsay for the weapon. Tsay continued to push Tran away until finally the gunman gives up and walks out.&nbsp;

“There was a moment I actually froze up, because I was, I had the belief that I was gonna die, like my life was ending here, at that very moment,” Tsay recollects what he felt during his confrontation with the gunman.&nbsp;

“But something amazing happened, a miracle actually. He started to try to prep his weapon so he could shoot everybody, but then it dawned on me that this was the moment to disarm him. I could do something here that could protect everybody and potentially save myself.”

“When he came in, he said nothing,” he said. “His face was very stoic. His expressions were mostly in his eyes — looking around trying to find people, trying to scout the area for other people.”

Tsay works at the dance hall a few nights a week to operate the place as the third generation in his family. The shooting took place during the Lunar Year celebrations. While speaking with "Good Morning America”, Tsay said that he heard the sound of the front door creaking closing which was&nbsp;immediately followed by the sound of a metal object clinking together.&nbsp;

Tran was confirmed dead with a self-inflicted wound later. Though the motive of the shooting has yet not been made clear, Monterey Park Mayor Henry Lo told NBC News the gunman may have been targeting his ex-wife.&nbsp;

'But then it dawned on me...' Meet Brandon Tsay, the hero who disarmed Monterey Park shooter

At least eight people were injured and one was killed in a shootout at an Oakland gas station, late Monday (January 23) said the San Francisco Bay Area police, reported Associated Press. The incident in&nbsp;Oakland took place hours after two other mass shootings&nbsp;in the United States’, California. The state has now witnessed three mass shootings within three days.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden in light of these mass shootings has&nbsp;urged&nbsp;Congress&nbsp;to ban&nbsp;assault weapons. "We know the scourge of gun violence across America requires stronger action," said Biden, in a statement, on Tuesday, as per AFP.&nbsp; 
 
He added, "I once again urge both chambers of Congress to act quickly and deliver this Assault Weapons Ban to my desk, and take action to keep American communities, schools, workplaces, and homes safe." 
 
In the context of the third incident,&nbsp;the Oakland Police Department, in a statement said, that officers were sent to Macarthur Boulevard just after 6:00 pm (local time) after they were notified of&nbsp;a shooting between several people. The alert was sent by ShotSpotter, which is a gunshot detection technology, reported CNN.&nbsp;

However, upon arrival at the Valero gas station, they found “several casings” but no victims said the police. They later received multiple notifications from local hospitals and learned that those who were shot had taken themselves for treatment of the gunshot wounds. The US&nbsp;Food and Drug Administration also recommended that its panel coming from external experts explore administering two doses of the Covid&nbsp;vaccine annually to selected young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. In briefing documents sent before to a meeting of its panel on Thursday, the regulator advocated the necessity of routine selection of variations for upgrading the vaccine, comparable to how strains for flu vaccinations are altered yearly (January 26).

“We need to do something different, because right now it's confusing. The messaging has been very, very mixed and confused about how important the&nbsp;vaccine&nbsp;is," said Dr. Bruce Farber, an infectious disease physician and chief of public health and epidemiology at Northwell Health who spoke to Reuters. "One consistent unified message with a standard schedule I think would make a lot of sense," she added.

Currently, the majority of people in the United States must receive the initial Covid&nbsp;vaccination in two doses, at least three to four weeks apart from one another, and then a booster dose a few months later.
