A life-size cast of the late Princess Diana's hand that was placed up for sale is anticipated to fetch up to 40,000 pounds ($46,046). The wedding band is seen on the plaster cast of Princess Diana's left hand. The auction house said that the 24-centimetre-long cast, which will be auctioned off at Reeman Dansie, is "extremely rare" and "unique".

Oscar Nemon, a well-known Croatian sculptor, created the mould just before he passed away in 1985. His final sitter was Princess Diana. Other royals like Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, and Prince Philip were depicted in sculptures in Oscar Nemon's portfolio.

Diana's wedding ring is depicted in her cast, which was created at St. James Palace in London.

Earlier this year in April, Indian IT bellwether behemoth Infosys announced that it was going to move its business out of Russia. Earlier this year in April, Indian IT bellwether behemoth Infosys announced that it was going to move its business out of Russia. However, months after making the announcement, the company is still operating from Moscow, as per a Guardian report, putting the spotlight on UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whose wife Akshata Murty receives annual dividends from the company. According to reports, Infosys still has a staffed office on its roster in the Russian capital and is simultaneously paying subcontractors to carry out IT services for a global client. In April, Infosys chief executive and managing director Salil Parekh had said, “Given what is going on in the region, we have started to transition all of our work from our centres in Russia to our centres outside Russia." "We have no work with any Russian client today and we have no plans for any work with any Russian client going ahead," he had added. WATCH | India's software giant Infosys announces withdrawal from Russia × Opposition leaders are now gunning for Sunak's head saying the Russians are funding his household whose address has changed to 10, Downing Street just a few weeks back. “It’s utterly scandalous that six months after Infosys said it would urgently pull out of Russia, the Sunak family could be materially benefiting from Moscow-based operations," Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner was quoted as saying by the publication. Even in the lead-up to the elections, Sunak was forced to explain details about how he managed his family's fortune, which is said to total $840 million and has led to him being routinely referred to as the UK’s richest MP. The majority of Sunak's fortune is derived from his marriage to Akshata who owns a 0.93 per cent stake worth $794 million in Infosys. Reports of Akshata touted to be wealthier than British Queen Elizabeth II have always irked the British public and the recent reports of Infosys staying in Russia is expected to invite more scathing criticism. Read more: Amidst row surrounding UK FM Rishi Sunak & wife Akshata, India’s Infosys to exit Russia As reported by WION, Akshata was able to save millions of pounds in tax on dividends, which were collected from her family's IT business. Last year, she earned a dividend payment worth 11.6 million pounds ($15.1 million). It was only after the controversy snowballed and threatened to hurt Sunak that Akshata agreed to pay more tax on foreign income. (With inputs from agencies) WATCH WION LIVE HERE:

The mining and commodities giant Glencore has been ordered to pay £281 million in fines, confiscated profits and punishment for 'sustained criminality,' making it the highest fine ever imposed on a firm in the UK.

The court hearing was on how the firm workers and agents gave bribes worth $27 million to a few unnamed officials in Nigeria, South Sudan, Ivory Coast and others creating harm valued at $128 million and £81 million at the time of the incident, the Guardian reported.

Glencore to pay £281 million over African bribery scandal

In order to generate nearly 40 billion pounds ($45.55 billion) over the next five years, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt intend to extend windfall taxes on oil and gas corporations, according to a report published in The Times on Wednesday.

According to the publication, Sunak and Hunt seek to maximise income from the windfall tax by raising the rate from 25% to 30% and prolonging it until 2028. The plan will also be expanded to include power generators.

In response to Reuters' request for comment, Downing Street and the finance ministry did not immediately react.

The announcement comes as four of the five major oil firms in the world have already released earnings, generating combined net income of about $50 billion, helped by limited global supply and disruption caused by Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

Last Thursday, Shell announced a $9.45 billion quarterly profit and increased its dividend by 15%.

The 25% windfall tax on the earnings of oil and gas companies was implemented in May by Sunak during the administration of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This tax was used to pay for a set of household support programmes.

United Kingdom: Man attacks UK Migrant centre in Dover, kills himself

A man threw petrol bombs at migrant processing centre in southern English port of Dover on Sunday (October 30). After hurling the bombs attached with fireworks, the man killed himself.

The attacker, a white man in a checked shirt, drove up to the centre in a white SEAT sports utility vehicle at around 1120 GMT. He got out and threw three petrol bombs, one of which failed to go off, according to a Reuters photographer said.

The man then drove to a petrol station, tied an improvised noose around his neck, attached it to a metal pole and drove off, killing himself

"Officers established that two to three incendiary devices had been thrown into a Home Office immigration premises," Kent Police said in a statement.

"One minor injury has been reported. The suspect has been identified and located. Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."

Videos posted by journalists on social media showed staff putting out a small fire at the migrant processing centre.

The attack comes in the midst of a highly charged political debate about immigration in Britain.

The number of people attempting the dangerous crossing over the Channel to enter Britain has risen sharply. The government is facing criticism from some quarters that border controls are too weak, while charities and human rights groups say asylum seekers are being treated inhumanely.

On Monday, the United Kingdom government in a statement said, all poultry and captive birds in England starting November 7 are legally required to be kept indoors. This comes as the country is working to tackle the largest-ever outbreak of avian flu with at least 200 cases witnessed in the UK over the past 12 months.

“We are now facing, this year, the largest ever outbreak of bird flu and are seeing a rapid escalation in the number of cases on commercial farms and in backyard birds across England,” said Britain's Chief Veterinary Officer, Christine Middlemiss in the statement. She added that the risk of kept birds being exposed to this disease is very high making it “necessary for all birds to be housed until further notice.”

If reports coming from the UK's ministry of defence are to be believed, Moscow is recruiting Russian prisoners that are suffering from infectious diseases such as HIV and hepatitis C for President Vladimir Putin's private army.

Reportedly, Putin's private army is called the Wagner group and according to UK intelligence officials, more than 100 convicts have been deployed with coloured bracelets, marking their illness.

The report added that role of Putin's private militia had evolved ever since the Russia-Ukraine war broke out. Earlier, the group hired professional Russian soldiers

"The role of Wagner Group has evolved significantly since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In previous conflicts, it maintained relatively high recruitment standards, with many of its operators having previously served as professional Russian soldiers."

The war between Russia-Ukraine has been ongoing for more than eight months. Both sides have lost a huge chunk of soldiers. After Ukraine made decisive gains in the southern part of Ukraine in September, Putin was forced to call back his troops and launch partial mobilisation of troops.

However, the hodge-podge process of mobilisation meant that Moscow had to end the hiring spree, much before reaching its goals. In October, Kremlin employed the use of Iranian drones, according to western intelligence reports to target key Ukrainian cities and managed to wrestle some of the advantage back.

WATCH | Russia stops mobilisation of troops, President Putin says 'No additional mobilisation planned' × The war between Russia-Ukraine has been ongoing for more than eight months. Both sides have lost a huge chunk of soldiers. However, the hodge-podge process of mobilisation meant that Moscow had to end the hiring spree, much before reaching its goals. Moscow recruiting prisoners with HIV, hepatitis for Putin's private army: Report

Russia has now come up with a new narrative for the Nord Stream pipeline blasts that took last month. The country's Defence Ministry claims that British Navy personnel 'blew up the pipeline'.

Nord Stream blasts: Russia accuses UK, says 'UK Navy planned terror attack'

A day after Russia accused British navy personnel of being responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines last month, NATO ally France has jumped in to UK's defence.

A day after Russia accused British navy personnel of being responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines last month, NATO ally France has jumped in to UK's defence. Reportedly, France's foreign ministry deputy spokesperson in a statement said the accusations are part of Moscow's strategy "to turn attention away from its sole responsibility in the war of aggression that it is conducting against Ukraine." As reported by WION, the Russian defence ministry on Saturday released a statement wherein for the first time since the explosions took place, it outrightly called out a nation. "According to available information, representatives of the British Navy took part in the planning, provision and implementation of a terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea on September 26 this year — blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines," read the statement. "To detract from their disastrous handling of the illegal invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defence is resorting to peddling false claims of an epic scale," tweeted the UK defence ministry. "This invented story says more about arguments going on inside the Russian government than it does about the West," it added. Suspicious incidents were reported in the Baltic Sea off the Danish island of Bornholm. Germany, Denmark, and Sweden have claimed that those were pre-meditated attacks to damage the pipeline. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has called it a ploy by the West after its sanctions did not affect Moscow. "Sanctions are not enough for the West, they have switched to sabotage. Unbelievable, but it is a fact!," Putin had said in a live speech. (With inputs from agencies) WATCH WION LIVE HERE:
