Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's home in Los Angeles got hit by burglars a few weeks ago, according to reports. The thieves tried to enter the property by breaking the glass of a guest house in broad daylight. The incident occurred when the celebrity couple was out of town.

Despite an alarm getting triggered by the broken glass, the thieves tried to enter the property, however, they failed, according to TMZ. It's unclear whether anything was stolen from the property or not.&nbsp;

Actor Tom Hanks was the guest of honour at Harvard University's commencement on Thursday. As the principal speaker of the event, Hanks urged the class of 2023 to fight for truth and to stand up to those who oppose it.&nbsp; 
 
Hanks addressed the school's newest graduates as the principal speaker at Harvard Yard's Tercentenary Theatre. Hanks said society has changed the way it views truth and claimed some people no longer see its value.&nbsp; 
 
"Every day, every year, and for every graduating class, there is a choice to be made, the same option for all grown-ups to make: to be one of three types of Americans — those who embrace liberty for all, those who won’t, or those who are indifferent," Hanks said. 
He added, "Only the first do the work of creating a more perfect union." 
 
The actor used multiple superhero references in his speech to suggest it is up to ordinary people to act extraordinary.&nbsp;

"We are all in a cage match, mixed martial arts battle royale with agents of intolerance and braying incompetence, the malevolent equals to Imperial stormtroopers, Lex Luther, and Loki. And we could use a superhero right now," Hanks said, the Harvard Gazette reported.

"There ain’t no Superman, nor anyone else in his Justice League," he added. "In the never-ending battle, you have all officially joined as of today, the difference is in how truly you believe, in how vociferously you promote, in how tightly you hold onto the truth that is self-evident: that of course we are all created equally yet differently, and of course, we are all in this together." 
 
Hanks reminded the fresh graduates that the fight over truth was 'not fair'.&nbsp;

"We all get to complain about The Man, and we all have debts we gotta pay, and we’re all entitled to a day off to lay about. But the work that is called for is the construction of our ‘more perfect union,’" he said, per the Gazette. "That job will never, ever be completed, one that requires rigorous attention and unfading wherewithal and all hands. The work is the keeping of the promises of our promised land, the practice of decency, the protection of freedom, and the promotion of liberty for all, with no exceptions. That takes a lot of work done on multiple job sites every single day, and you can call each of them a battle for Truth, Justice, and the American Way." 
 
Hanks has been given an honorary arts doctorate from the school a few years back. In his speech, the actor also made references to fictional Harvard professor Robert Langdon who he portrayed in three movies in The Da Vinci Code series.&nbsp;

Elba also told The Guardian around the time Luther released that he remains extremely close to Bond`s producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, but dismissed the idea of them ever offering him the role.

Tom, however, is proud to be on time on a film set. “What cannot occur on a motion picture is that someone cannot monkey around with the timing or the length of the shoot or the budget. That is a cardinal sin in the motion picture business. You will be amazed at how many people know that they can get away with it, and are told they can get away with it, because they are carrying the movie on their shoulders,” he added.&nbsp;

Organizers of the parody prizes, which recognize the worst films and performances each year, also awarded themselves a tongue-in-cheek Razzie for having cruelly nominated a 12-year-old child star.

Razzies voters declared Hanks' role as Elvis Presley's manager in rock 'n' roll biopic Elvis the year's most awful performance by a supporting actor.

The movie has been widely praised and is up for eight Oscars this Sunday. Its star Austin Butler is a frontrunner for best actor.

But Hanks' appearance beneath heavy prosthetics as Presley's exploitative manager Colonel Tom Parker was panned by many critics, who viewed his casting as the film's biggest flaw.

A New York Times review said Hanks appears "with a mountain of prosthetic goo, a bizarre accent and a yes-it's-really-me twinkle in his eyes."

Piling on the insults, Razzies voters on Saturday also awarded "worst screen couple" to "Tom Hanks &amp; His Latex-Laden Face (and Ludicrous Accent)."&nbsp;

Hanks was at least spared the worst actor award.

His role as Geppetto in Disney's live-action "Pinocchio" remake was deemed less terrible than that of&nbsp;regular Razzies punching bag Jared Leto in Spider-Man spinoff "Morbius."

The controversial Marilyn Monroe biopic "Blonde" was named the year's worst movie.

The Razzies are announced the day before the Oscars, serving to mock the following night's self-congratulatory Tinseltown back-slapping.

But the Razzies themselves have made recent high-profile blunders.

This year, Razzies organizers were forced to rescind a nomination for Ryan Kiera Armstrong -- then just 12 -- for her role in a "Firestarter" remake.

Announcing the winners on Saturday, the group said Armstrong's spot on the worst actress nominees list was given to the Razzies themselves.

According to a press release, the Razzies "won by a landslide."

"Well, what can we say? We earned this Razzie," organizers said in a mock acceptance speech posted to YouTube.

Last year, a new category labelled "Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie" was jokingly created to accommodate all of the former "Die Hard" star's questionable output.

Hanks, 66 and Wright, 56, will be de-aged as they reunite for a film that incidentally will be directed by 'Forrest Gump's director Robert Zemecki. The project will also feature Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly and is said to be an adaptation of Richard McGuire's comic set in one room over a number of years. The movie is set to come out in 2024.

The production company that is backing the film has roped in Metaphysic, an AI company which is known for its @DeepTomCruise accounts on social media, especially TikTok where it has amassed a following of 5 million users. The company also gained popularity on America's Got Talent for its deep fakes. 
 
According to reports, new tool called Metaphysic Live will be used to de-age the stars without any aid of VFX. 
"I've always been attracted to technology that helps me to tell a story," Zemeckis said in a statement issued to the media. "With Here, the film simply wouldn't work without our actors seamlessly transforming into younger versions of themselves.
