<p>"We received information from the control room that a man called them up saying that there are discrepancies in military recruitment and he wasn't recruited. A bomb is kept at Taj Mahal which will explode soon," police official Shiv Ram Yadav had said earlier.</p>

<p>A team comprising of police and CISF carried out a search of the Taj Mahal area as the entry and exit points were closed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Nothing suspicious has been found and the checks are almost done," a senior CISF officer told PTI as it launched anti-sabotage checks around 9:15 am(local time).</p>

<p>There is however some resistance to Modi's unlocking of the world's second-most populated country, which saw its economy contract by almost a quarter between April and June.</p>

<p>Schools were meant to resume Monday on a voluntary basis for students aged 14 to 17, but many Indian states such as Maharashtra and Gujarat have said it is still too soon.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/supreme-court-asks-army-to-decide-on-granting-special-commission-to-female-officers-263289">Supreme Court </a>on Wednesday allowed a petition of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/northern-railways-started-using-automatic-train-coach-washing-system-152175">Northern Railways </a>to cut 452 trees in and around 30 kilometers of Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) to lay down a new railway track from Delhi-Mathura-Agra, with a condition of compensatory afforestation.</p>

<p>A bench headed by Chief Justice of India <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/justice-must-never-take-the-form-of-revenge-cji-sa-bobde-266822">S A Bobde </a>directed the member secretary of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to appoint an officer to visit the site and inspect the trees that have been planted by the Northern Railways as compensation.</p>

<p>The officer should take note of whether the saplings are being watered and nourished, whether any saplings have died, and whether dead saplings have been replaced, apex court says. The bench sought a status report from the office within three months.</p>

<p>The top court said there is "no doubt" about the importance of the new railway line. Permission to cut 452 trees will be subject to conditions and compensatory afforestation must be done.</p>

<p>The bench also asked the petitioner and environmentalist M C Mehta and National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) to inspect and submit a report within six weeks with remedial action on the problem of open drains, overflowing sewers in Agra town and vicinity of Taj.</p>

<p>At its current rate of growth, it will be taller than the iconic Taj in Agra, some 73 metres high, in 2020.</p>

<p>India's Supreme Court warned last year that red warning lights will soon have to be put on the dump to alert passing jets.</p>

<p>Ghazipur was opened in 1984 and reached its capacity in 2002 when it should have been closed. But the city's detritus has kept on arriving each day in hundreds of trucks.</p>

<p>"The poisonous smell has made our lives hell. People fall sick all the time," said 45-year-old local resident Puneet Sharma.</p>

<p>They say a plant that recycles waste into energy next to the dump increases their misery because the smoke it releases by burning trash is also poisonous.</p>

<p>Local doctor Kumud Gupta said she sees about 70 people, including babies, each day mostly suffering from respiratory and stomach ailments caused by polluted air.</p>

<p>A recent study said the dump was a health risk for people living within five kilometres (three miles), including for cancer.</p>

<p>The Delhi School of Planning and Architecture told the court that it is in the process of preparing a vision document for the protection and the preservation of the Taj Mahal in Uttar Pradesh's Agra town and will complete it in a few days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It said the document would be submitted to the state government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Additional Solicitor General A N S Nadkarni, appearing for the Centre, told the bench that the first draft of the Heritage Plan for Taj Mahal, which is to be submitted to the UNESCO, will be finalised within eight weeks.</p>

<p>In an earlier observation, the Supreme COurt had said there will be no “second chance” to preserve the Taj Mahal. It had asked the authorities to take a larger perspective on issues of pollution and green cover to prepare a vision document on protecting the monument.</p>

<p>The bench had said the authorities would have to look into several issues to protect the Taj Mahal and had sought to know about the green cover, the number of industries operating in the area and the hotels and restaurants there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Besides looking into issue of protection of Taj Mahal, they were also considering a larger comprehensive plan to deal with all these issues.</p>

<p>The bench, which has been monitoring development in the TTZ area to protect the Taj Mahal had asked the petitioner to give his suggestions to the expert body.</p>
