According to a report published in the journal Scientific Reports, signs of human activity at the Es Càrritx cave on the south-western side of Menorca showed that ancient human civilisation there consumed drugs derived from plants and bushes.&nbsp;

The Es Càrritx cave has more than 200 human graves, and is believed to be a funeral site for about six centuries until 800 BCE.

The scientific analysis of the hair locks, dyed red during the ancient rituals which could have come from more than one person, reportedly detected three psychoactive substances.

Along with hallucination-inducing atropine and scopolamine, scientists found ephedrine, which boosts energy and alertness.

The research also noted that containers found in the cave had spiral motifs carved on the lids. The way these motifs were created represent a person's "altered states of consciousness" while under the influence of hallucinogens.

In the history of ancient civilisations, evidence has been detected in the past, which indicates the human consumption of drugs and alcohol among others.&nbsp;

Ancient Egyptians used alcohol in 3500 BCE, while ancient Chinese people consumed cannabis (the source of marijuana) around 3000 BCE.&nbsp;

Several families in Spain's Basque Country have taken legal action against a nurse after she was accused of faking the administration of vaccines to children. According to a report by the Guardian on Tuesday (February 28), the nurse, who has not been identified, had been tasked with immunising children for infections such as hepatitis B and meningitis at a local healthcare centre.&nbsp;

Last year, local authorities opened an investigation after parents expressed concerns about the nurse's attempts to discourage them from getting their children inoculated during visits to a health centre in Saturtzi. The parents also expressed concerns about the way the nurse appeared to inject the vaccines.&nbsp;

Aitzol Asla, the lawyer representing these families, said, “All of these families have been vaccinated – or not – by this nurse." Asla added some families noticed the nurse was oddly administering vaccines- jabbing it very quickly and then appearing that as though she would throw the vial into the trash bin.&nbsp;

Following complaints from families in September last year, authorities conducted antibody tests on 50 children inoculated in the health centre, dividing them into two groups based on which nurse saw them.&nbsp;

"After the tests carried out in October on a first group of fifty minors belonging to two different quotas, it has been possible to verify that most of those belonging to one of the quotas analyzed did not have correct immunisation," a statement from the regional authority on November 2 said. The authority said those affected would be properly vaccinated, adding, testing would be expanded to a further 400 children who were believed to&nbsp;have been treated by the nurse.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Aitzol Asla said since months (after this incident occurred), health officials provided little details to the affected families. Asla added that parents were worried about what could have happened to their children. The lawyer also highlighted that nothing bad happened till now, The Guardian reported. The families behind the legal challenge are to appear in court in March, Asla said.&nbsp;

The court, however, acknowledged a "legal vacuum" in Spanish law concerning public nudity.&nbsp;

The court said in the ruling that Colomar "limited himself to remaining or circulating naked at different times in two different streets of Aldaia", adding his behaviour did not imply an "alteration of citizen security, tranquility or public order."&nbsp;

Speaking to the news agency Reuters on Friday (February 3), Colomar said he began stripping off in public in 2020 and has received more support than insults when walking about naked. Colomar said he started appearing naked in public after an argument with a woman when he took off his shirt while exercising. The 29-year-old added that he understood she could not do the same, but blamed society for it and started going nude.

“The fine does not make any sense, I was accused of obscene exhibitionism, which according to the dictionary has a sexual intention and has nothing to do with what I was doing. What I was accused of, having children there, in case there was a sexual intention was to go to jail, not a fine. But it had no relation to what I was doing,” he said.&nbsp;

On Friday, Colomar was filmed arriving at the court wearing just a pair of hiking boots before being ordered to put more clothes on to enter the building. During the hearing, he argued that the fines infringed on his right to ideological freedom.&nbsp;

Public nudity in Spain has been legal since 1988. The Reuters report said that anyone can walk naked down a street without being arrested.&nbsp;

However, some regions such as Valladolid and Barcelona have introduced their laws to regulate nudism, especially away from the beach. Last year, Cadiz city reversed a law that prohibited nudism on its urban beaches.&nbsp;

Colomar said he started appearing naked in public after an argument with a woman when he took off his shirt while exercising. The 29-year-old added that he understood she could not do the same, but blamed society for it and started going nude. “The fine does not make any sense, I was accused of obscene exhibitionism, which according to the dictionary has a sexual intention and has nothing to do with what I was doing. What I was accused of, having children there, in case there was a sexual intention was to go to jail, not a fine. But it had no relation to what I was doing,” he said. On Friday, Colomar was filmed arriving at the court wearing just a pair of hiking boots before being ordered to put more clothes on to enter the building. During the hearing, he argued that the fines infringed on his right to ideological freedom. Public nudity in Spain has been legal since 1988. The Reuters report said that anyone can walk naked down a street without being arrested. However, some regions such as Valladolid and Barcelona have introduced their laws to regulate nudism, especially away from the beach.
