Johnson, having scalped four wickets in the final was named Player of the Match while the Heats clinched their second title in the BBL history. They had previously won the title in 2012-13, which saw them end their 11-year drought to win the BBL title. The defeat also meant that Sydney Sixers failed to win the title for the third time in four seasons.</p>

<h2><strong>Johnson runs riot</strong></h2>

<p>Asked to chase 167 to win their fourth title, the Sixers lost wickets at regular intervals and were never in the contest. They lost Daniel Hughes (1) in the first over of the chase that followed with Jack Edwards (16) and Josh Philippe (23) wickets in quick succession. With wickets falling at regular intervals Sixers were 85/7 at their home ground of Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) which saw them curtailed to another poor defeat in the competition.</p>

<p>Captain Moises Henriques was the top scorer with 25 runs from 27 deliveries while Sean Abbott scored 16 before the Sixers were bowled out for 117. Interestingly they were bowled out in 17.3 overs which saw Heat win with 15 balls to spare to win their second BBL title. Mitchell Swepson and Xavier Bartlett both ended with two wickets each while Michael Neser and Paul Walter had one each.</p>

<p>Recently retired from Tests, Australia opener David Warner will land at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in a helicopter straight from his brother’s wedding to play for Sydney Thunders against Sydney Sixers in a BBL Sydney derby on Friday. Warner will attend his brother’s wedding in the Hunter Valley before boarding his helicopter from Cessnock airport for the SCG.</p>

<p>Although the initial plan was to use the Allianz Stadium close to the cricket ground for landing, it was dropped at the last minute. Warner will now land on the outfield around where the ‘Thanks Dave’ logo was printed during his farewell Test against Pakistan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking about this grand welcome David is about to get at his home ground for his first BBL match this season, teammate Gurinder Sandhu said, that for him to come from his brother’s wedding for the match is a lot of effort in the first place, adding everyone loves having Warner around, even the fans.</p>

<p>"He's going to a lot of effort to come and play for us," Thunder quick Gurinder Sandhu said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We love having him here. Last year, he was awesome for us, maybe didn't score as many runs as he would have liked, but around the group and passing on knowledge was awesome to have him around. He's one of the better team men. All the fans get to enjoy him playing cricket," he added.</p>

<p>Speaking on the fast bowlers unit, coach Andrew McDonald was happy with the progress and is unlikely to make any changes for the SCG Test. <p>The latest season will have the addition of MCG and SCG with the venues not in use for the WBBL since the 2019-20 season. The high-profile venues will be in use along with the Adelaide Oval from Friday, November 24.
