“The ruling issued by the preliminary chamber judge lacks legal basis and reasoning,” Eugen Vidineac, one of the brothers’ lawyers, said after the decision. He added, “We have filed a strong appeal as we believe the ruling to be unlawful.”

Ahead of the ruling on Friday, the case had been discussed for months at the preliminary chamber stages where the defendants can challenge the evidence and case filed by the prosecutors.&nbsp;

<h2>About Tate’s case</h2>

Last year, in June, Andrew, 37, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects were indicted for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, charges they have denied.&nbsp;

This was after Andrew and others were arrested in December 2022 near Bucharest. The Tate brothers were held in police custody during the criminal investigation for three months, before being moved to house arrest.&nbsp;

Over the years, Andrew has garnered millions of followers across social media platforms and has been banned from several prominent ones for his misogynistic views and hate speech.&nbsp;

He has repeatedly claimed that the prosecutors in Romania have no evidence against him and said that this is a political conspiracy to silence him.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Romanian prosecutors have alleged that Andrew and Tristan recruited their victims by seducing them and falsely claiming to want a relationship or marriage.&nbsp;

The prosecutors also said that the victims would then be taken to their properties outside the capital and through physical violence and mental intimidation were sexually exploited by being forced to produce pornographic content for social media sites that generated large financial gain.&nbsp;

In March, the Tate brothers, who are dual British-American citizens also appeared at the Bucharest Court of Appeal which approved a request from Britain to extradite the duo but only after the completion of Romanian trial proceedings.

The United Kingdom issued arrest warrants for the duo over allegations of sexual aggression in a case dating back to 2012-15.

<h2>All victims were civilians</h2>

The Russian missile had hit a cafe in Hroza on Friday (Oct 6) where people gathered to mourn a fallen Ukrainian soldier. Amid repeated accusations by Kyiv that Moscow is deliberately targeting its civilians, the Kremlin yet again denied the allegations.&nbsp;

“The Russians killed 59 people with a direct hit with an Iskander (missile) on the village of Hroza,” said Klymenko on Telegram.

He added, “All victims are local residents. They were pensioners, medics, farmers, teachers, entrepreneurs. All were civilians. Entire families of several generations died.”&nbsp;

The death toll is said to be one of the highest ones among civilians in any single Russian strike in nearly 20 months of the ongoing Ukraine war. Klymenko said forensic experts worked round the clock for six days to identify the victims.&nbsp;

The experts also required mobile DNA laboratories to identify 19 people. One 60-year-old man was identified only after 20 body parts were collected.&nbsp;

The Ukrainian security service SBU on Wednesday (Oct 11)&nbsp;accused two villagers who it said had fled to Russia of helping guide the missile strike.&nbsp;

<h2>Romania finds ‘drone crater’&nbsp;</h2>

Romania, a NATO member and country which borders Ukraine, found a “drone crater” on Thursday after Russia bombarded a Ukrainian port on the Danube river, said Bucharest’s defence ministry.&nbsp;

The country had also found <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/romania-finds-suspected-russian-drone-fragments-on-its-territory-near-ukraine-border-634282">drone debris</a> several times near its border with Ukraine, last month, prompting them to build air-raid shelters in the eastern Romanian village of Plauru.&nbsp;

“Around 5:00 am (local time), the teams on the ground reported the discovery of a drone crater – with a possible explosion on impact – in a vegetated area... about three kilometres west of Plauru,” said the defence ministry in a statement.&nbsp;

“The Ministry of National Defence strongly condemns the attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against targets and elements of civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian Danube ports,” it added. Romania also said that they would work with NATO to investigate the incident.&nbsp;

<h2>Czech Republic and Denmark to send arms</h2>

The Czech Republic and Denmark “in the months to come” will send nearly 50 armoured vehicles and combat tanks, 2,500 handguns, 7,000 rifles, 500 machine guns and 500 sniper rifles to Ukraine as part of a joint project and based on the “demand and needs” of Ukraine’s armed forces, said the Czech defence ministry, on Thursday.&nbsp;

The ammunition will be the first phase of the project which also includes intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance equipment and large-calibre ammunition.&nbsp;

“This is a substantial donation of equipment, for which there is great demand in Ukraine,” said the Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.&nbsp;

As a part of their next phase, Prague and Copenhagen expect to provide the Ukrainian army with 500 heavy machine guns, 280 auto-loading cannons, 7,000 anti-tank weapons, 10,000 hand grenades and 60 mortar systems.&nbsp;

‘All victims were civilians’: Death toll from Hroza missile strike rises to 59, says Ukraine

NATO member Romania on Saturday (Sep 30) said that there was a possible airspace breach during Russia's overnight drone attacks on infrastructure in neighbouring Ukraine. 
 
After Russia exited the deal which allowed safe grain shipments through the Black Sea, the strikes on Ukraine's southern Mykolaiv and Odesa regions have been ramped up by Russia. The regions are home to vital grain-exporting infrastructure. 
 
"Following the detection of groups of drones heading towards Ukrainian territory near the Romanian border" residents in the Galati and Tulcea municipalities were alerted, said the defence ministry, in a statement. 
 
"The radar surveillance system ... indicated possible unauthorised entry into national airspace, with a signal detected on a route towards the municipality of Galati," it stated.

The defence ministry stated that no objects appeared to have fallen inside the Romanian territory but they will continue the search on Saturday. Around midnight, the people living in Galati and Tulcea, which is near the port of Reni in southern Ukraine across the River Danube, were alerted and warned to take shelter. After two hours, the alert measures were lifted. 
 
Earlier this month, air-raid shelters were built by the Romanian soldiers to protect the residents in the eastern Romanian village of Plauru after they found drone fragments in the area.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened the first International Defence Industries Forum of Kyiv so as to attract more manufacturers who will build arms in Ukraine. 
 
"Our first task is to win this war and return a lasting and, most importantly, reliable peace to our people. We will accomplish this task through our cooperation with you," said Zelensky, in a speech at the opening on Friday (Sep 29).

Romania reports 'airspace breach' during Ukraine attacks, Zelensky attracts arms makers

Romania, a NATO member, has started building air-raid shelters near the Ukraine border. This decision was taken after fragments of a drone were discovered in its territory last week. Watch this video for all details.

Why is NATO member Romania building air-raid shelters?

Romania on Saturday (September 9) said that new fragments of a drone similar to those used by the Russian military were found on the NATO member’s territory across the border from Ukraine. The Romanian president called the incident unacceptable and said he had informed the NATO chief about the same who reiterated his support for Bucharest.&nbsp;

<h2>What did Romania find?</h2>

Romania&nbsp;said that its soldiers found fragments of a drone “similar to those used by the Russian Army”.

The defence ministry said the country’s naval forces were deployed after local officials alerted them to suspected drone fragments discovered 2.5 kilometres southeast of the village of Plauru.&nbsp;

The village is across the Danube river and from the Ukrainian port of Izmail. “In the search, fragments of a drone similar to those used by the Russian army were discovered,” said the Romanian defence ministry, in a statement.

Finding of the fragments also comes days after reported drone debris was disovered in that area some kilometres away from Saturday’s find.&nbsp;

The fragments have since been picked up for analysis, the statement added. Notably, this is the second suspected Russian drone piece found in Romanian territory this week.&nbsp;

<h2>Romanian president talks to NATO chief</h2>

President Klaus Iohannis said that he had informed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about the drone pieces and the latter reiterated the United States-led military alliance’s complete solidarity with Romania.

“The identification by Romanian authorities on Romanian territory near the border with Ukraine of new drone fragments...indicates an unacceptable breach occurred of the air space of Romania, a NATO state, with real risks to the security of Romanian citizens in the area,” said Iohannis.&nbsp;

He added, “I firmly condemn this incident caused by Russian attacks on Ukrainian Danube river ports.”

Meanwhile, Stoltenberg said Russian strikes near the border were “destabilising” even though they were not directed or intended to hit a NATO member.&nbsp;

Earlier this week, the US State Department said it would rotate additional F-16 fighter jets to bolster NATO’s air policing mission in Romania.&nbsp;

The first discovery of possible drone debris came on Wednesday (Sep 6) after Ukraine alleged on Monday that drones detonated in Romania during an overnight Russian air strike on Izmail. The NATO member initially denied the reports before saying that they found pieces on Wednesday.

Russian-installed Donetsk Mayor Alexei Kulemzin, on Saturday (Sep 9) said that a civilian was killed and one person wounded in a Ukrainian shelling of the city. He also reported damage to a number of buildings and several city districts.
