Directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead, the film was scheduled to release on March 24 but on Thursday, Johar who is the film's producer took to social media to announce that the release of the film has been postponed to a later day.&nbsp;<br />

"Sooryavanshi is an experience that we have created for you with over a year of dedication and hard work and the response we received for its trailer was nothing less than electrifying and made it clear that this film truly belongs to its audience..." the statement reads.&nbsp;<br />

"We have been as excited as you are to present the film to you and your family, but due to the recent outburst of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, we, the makers have decided to postpone the release of your film, keeping in the health and safety of our beloved audience....' the statement further adds.</p>

Release of Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' pushed back amid coronavirus scare

<p>This is huge! Filmmaker Rohit Shetty who has created a cop universe with films like 'Singham', 'Simmba' and the upcoming 'Sooryavanshi' is all set to present Hollywood film 'Bad Boys For Life' that features Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the lead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shetty took to Instagram to share a clip that features Desi and 'Videshi' cops- all in the same video! The video announced Shetty's association with the Hollywood project.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The director who is currently busy producing Akshay Kumar- starrer <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/akshay-kumar-reveals-his-look-in-rohit-shettys-new-cop-drama-sooryavanshi-see-posters-201268">'Sooryavanshi'</a> has still not revealed other star cast and the release date of the upcoming flick.</p>

<p>The fourth franchise 'Golmaal Again' which released in 2017 was a hit on the Indian box-office at the fun-filled movie crossed the Rs 200 crore mark. The film became the second highest-grossing film of 2017 after 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' beating even Varun Dhawan's 'Judwaa 2'.</p>

<p>The Rohit Shetty directed horror comedy film was released 3,500 screens in India and 732 screens in the international markets.</p>

<p>The movie has been successful in international markets too, as the movie grossed over Rs 46 crores at the global box-office. Despite facing competition from Aamir Khan-Zaira Wasim starrer 'Secret Superstar', the film managed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.</p>

<p>The story revolves around the gang of five - Gopal (Ajay), Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) and Laxman (Kunal Kemmu) - orphans who have been raised in Seth Jamnadas' orphanage in Ooty.</p>

The fourth franchise 'Golmaal Again' which released in 2017 was a hit on the Indian box-office at the fun-filled movie crossed the Rs 200 crore mark. The film became the second highest-grossing film of 2017 after 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' beating even Varun Dhawan's 'Judwaa 2'. The Rohit Shetty directed horror comedy film was released 3,500 screens in India and 732 screens in the international markets. The movie has been successful in international markets too, as the movie grossed over Rs 46 crores at the global box-office. Despite facing competition from Aamir Khan-Zaira Wasim starrer 'Secret Superstar', the film managed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. The story revolves around the gang of five - Gopal (Ajay), Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) and Laxman (Kunal Kemmu) - orphans who have been raised in Seth Jamnadas' orphanage in Ooty.

<p>If you thought Rohit Shetty was done with his cop films, think again as he has now registered ‘Aaya Police’ as the title of another film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A report published in Deccan Chronicle claimed that Shetty registered the title last week under his production house, Rohit Shetty Picturez LLP. A source quoted in the report said, “There was this song in Simmba called Aala Re Aala which has the line ‘ae aaya police’. Deepika Padukone was also seen saying that and cheering for Ranveer Singh in the film, and it had gone viral. Rohit thought it is a pretty good name for a movie and has registered the title.”</p>

<p>Shetty is already working on a cop film with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif titled ‘Sooryavanshi’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The director was speaking at a special session at the FICCI Frames 2019.&nbsp;Shetty, who has delivered consecutive blockbusters and is known for making larger-than-life massy films, said he got the idea to start a universe while watching Hollywood superhero projects like 'Avengers'.&nbsp;<br />

"Whatever happens in Hollywood, happens here 10 years down the line. That's always been the theory. When I was watching the 'Avengers' series, I got an idea that 'why don't we create a universe?'&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Obviously, we don't have the kind of budget to make so many superhero films year after year. Then I thought to make a cop universe from 'Simmba' onwards," he said.</p>

<p>The filmmaker said as the concept of creating a universe was novel for the Indian audience, he was initially nervous about the plunge.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I was a bit scared before the release because this was happening for the first time in our country. I knew that youngsters and kids will (understand), because they have 'Avengers', but our mature audience hasn't seen that. I had doubts merging two worlds but it worked big time," Shetty said.&nbsp;</p>

Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan join hands for 'Mother of All Entertainers'

<p>After delivering a super hit with <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/simmba-trailer-ranveer-singh-as-the-immoral-cop-packs-a-powerful-punch-181116">‘Simmba’,</a> filmmaker Rohit Shetty is now planning to collaborate with Salman Khan for an action film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, the film that is yet-to-be-titled is expected to go on floors by the end of this year and will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Salman, who is currently busy with <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/ali-abbas-zafar-shares-glimpse-of-salman-khan-from-bharat-193117">‘Bharat’</a> will then be done with this as well as another film, ‘Dabangg 3’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, by that time, &nbsp;Rohit will be done with ‘Sooryavanshi’, his upcoming cop drama featuring Akshay Kumar.</p>

<p>A source quoted in the report said, “Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to not just discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead but also on the content.”</p>

<p>“Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh aka Devil from Kick, Sajid Nadiadwala’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materialises as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit Shetty’s film,” the source added.</p>

<p>The source also added that “it’s too early to comment” on whether it will be an action film and added that it will surely be something to watch out for!</p>

A source quoted in the report said, “Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to not just discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead but also on the content.” “Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh aka Devil from Kick, Sajid Nadiadwala’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materialises as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit Shetty’s film,” the source added. With Rs 20.72 crore collection on opening day, ‘Simmba’ is Singh’s <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/simmba-box-office-collection-ranveer-singhs-biggest-solo-hit-earns-rs-100-cr-worldwide-187471">biggest solo hit</a> and also records highest-opening for him. His previous film that was a massive hit last year ‘Padmaavat’, managed to collect Rs 19 crore on opening day.</p>

<p>The film made Rs 21.24 crore on Monday, taking the total to Rs 96.35 crore. As a new day begins, the film is most likely to cross the big mark.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, there is no competition for ‘Simmba’ at the moment at the box office.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Happy with the film’s response, producer Karan Johar praised the efforts of director Rohit Shetty and lead star Ranveer. <p>Indian filmmaker Rohit Shetty known for making action films like "Singham", revealed that he is working on a script for "a lady Singham".</p>

<p>Shetty recently launched an animation series "Little Singham", in collaboration with Discovery Kids, Reliance Animation and Rohit Shetty.&nbsp;</p>
