Ahead of her cop film release, Rani has been seen meeting up with women police officers, getting to know them more and discussing how she understands their work more personally having played a complicated character like hers in the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rani said, “I’m speechless seeing the sheer amount of work that is being put in by the cops every single day to keep us safe. Police officials are going about doing their job in the most professional, methodical and selfless manner and it is really eye-opening to see just how much they endure to ensure that we are secure.”</p>

<p>On how she felt after meeting with the police officers, Rani said, “It was extremely informative and educative for me to visit the PCR (Police Control Room) because I learned so much about what goes in to keeping our women and daughters safe in the times when the nature of crime is becoming severely complex with the rise of technology.”</p>

<p>She added, “It takes an incredible amount of work to keep crimes at check and I thank the police force with all my heart for their dedication and passion to keep their countrymen safe and sound.”</p>

Mardaani 2: Ahead of film release, Rani Mukerji visits Mumbai’s police control room

<p>‘Mardaani 2’ has been making the right noise with fans waiting eagerly for the Rani Mukerji starrer to hit the theatres.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a surprising public appearance, Rani Mukerji met with a special team of night patrol comprising women officers in Mumbai, ahead of her film. It&nbsp;is a Yash Raj Films production and features Rani as a fierce cop.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Stressing on the need for safety of women in Mumbai and elsewhere, Rani said, “Strict vigilance can prevent a lot of crimes, and I salute the police force of our country for protecting us, day and night. Their unwavering sense of duty helps us live peacefully, and I want to do my bit to highlight the incredible work being done by them. Meeting the specialised police unit has been an eye-opening exercise.”</p>

<p>After the meetup, head of the patrol team in Mumbai Kalpana Survase revealed that they discussed safety tips for women with the actor. “Women should note down the number of the vehicle while commuting. That way, they have the details handy to call the police. Also, one should consult (web) mapping service so that they know where they are heading. It also helps us in tracking them,” the police official said.</p>

<p>Giffoni International Children Film Festival in Italy will commence on 19th July and will continue till 27th July.</p>

After your home, your workplace is the place where you should feel the safest and if you're not feeling that way then that's the worst world to be living in.”</p>

<p>Rani Mukerji says she knew that Indian films were popular in China but it was still a surprise to witness the love and respect the audiences have for Bollywood stars when she visited the country to promote 'Hichki'.<br />

In 'Hichki', Rani played the role of a teacher who suffers from Tourette syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary vocalisations.<br />

The film, which released in India in March this year, is currently doing well in theatres in China and the actor was on a multi-city tour to promote the movie there. The film has earned over Rs 150 crore at the Chinese box office.<br />

Rani said it was phenomenal to see people connect to the story the way an Indian audience would do.<br />

"They understood each and every emotion of the film. They knew about the film, they had seen the film so there was a lot of positivity everywhere I went. It was surprising because I knew that Indian films are popular but to what degree, I found it when I went there," Rani told PTI in an interview.<br />

The actor said she decided to be a part of the promotions in China because she wanted to witness the love first hand and it has been an enriching experience for her.<br />
"Interacting with the audiences and Chinese people has made the entire travel so much more inspiring for me. It was just amazing and surprising at the same time because the kind of love they have for an Indian actor and the kind of respect they give you is phenomenal," she added.<br />

Rani said 'Hichki' has been a special film for her because it was her first film after the birth of her daughter, Adira.<br />

"It was a difficult time for me since it was my first film after motherhood so I was really anxious leaving my daughter behind and going to shoot but it all went really well. I have more focus today than before because now I want to complete my work to the best of my ability and go back home immediately.<br />
<br />
"Also, there was a lot of goodness attached to the whole process of filmmaking. It's really nice to be around people who work towards a common goal," she said.<br />
The actor believes Indian films do well in China because the two neighbours share a lot of cultural similarities.<br />

"Our cultures and our way of life is very similar. Indians and Chinese are very similar in terms of family life and in the way they live. So a lot of things are common and I guess that's what really connects our stories to them because it feels very close to home.<br />

"The language of cinema and emotions is universal. When you make a film which is about human emotions, it kind of clicks in any part of the world and I guess 'Hichki' doing that consolidates the fact. It makes you believe in good content, good cinema and also makes you believe that if you back a project which has heart and soul, there will always be an audience somewhere who will appreciate it," Rani said.&nbsp;</p>

So a lot of things are common and I guess that's what really connects our stories to them because it feels very close to home. "The language of cinema and emotions is universal. When you make a film which is about human emotions, it kind of clicks in any part of the world and I guess 'Hichki' doing that consolidates the fact. For those coming in late, the two actresses were known to be close friends but their relationship soured after Ash was replaced by Rani in SRK's 'Chalte Chalte'. &nbsp;Aishwarya was at that point of time dating Salman Khan and had Khan used to regularly interrupt the film's shooting by dropping in to meet his then-girlfriend. SRK, who was the leading man and the producer, had to eventually replace Ash. Reportedly, Rani's entry did not go down well with Ash.</p>

Incidentally, the show- that will go on air in October will coincide with the 20 years completion of Johar's debut film <em>Kuch Kuch Hota Hai</em> which featured these three actors.&nbsp;The trio had earlier appeared in Season 2 of Koffee With Karan back in 2007.<br />

"One may argue that the combination lacks novelty, but it scores on nostalgic value. The line-up is yet to be drawn. It's still in the brainstorming stage. A lot of names are being tossed around and it's too early to say," a source close to the show was quoted as saying to a daily.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the previous season did not feature Rani Mukerji or Kajol. While Rani was on a maternity leave when the show was on air, Kajol and Karan had a fall out. But the two seemed to have buried the hatched and made peace.<br />

'Koffee With Karan' Season 6: Not Virat-Anushka but Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani to be the first guests

<p>As Rani Mukerji's latest film Hichki continues to do good business, the actress states that she would not be taking another four years to sign her next film.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The actress, while addressing media, at the film's success bash, stated that Hichki was a litmus test for her. If the film had not done well, she may not have come back to movies. ": "Yes, I told everyone that my next film will be depending on the audience response of `Hichki`. I think now, I won`t take a long gap, I will make my next comeback soon," Rani said.</p>

<p>"I will be doing more films because that is something I always love doing. But there was a gap for four years because of my marriage and baby. I wanted to see if the audience would be interested to see me onscreen. Now that I know, people are more than happy to see me onscreen, even I am ready. There are projects that I kept on hold before the release of `Hichki` will see the light of the day," said Rani who played the lead role of a teacher in the film.<br />

She was present along with the director Siddharth P. Malhotra and creative producer Maneesh Sharma at the media meet on Thursday to celebrate the success of "Hichki".<br />

The actress started shooting for the film when her daughter Adira was just 14 months old. Asked about how she finds the balance between motherhood and work, Rani said: "Well, she (her daughter) was of that age when babies take their first step.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"One day I came back from shooting and she took her first step. I do not want to miss out on any of her milestones, and taking the first step was surely one of them. I was nervous that what if I am shooting and she takes her first step?</p>

<p>"Now she started understanding, especially during the promotion of the film that I go to work. So when I go back home, she says, `Mumma please remove your make-up`. She does not like my makeup, just like her father. So that way, the DNA is working absolutely fine."</p>

<p>The actress also stated that she uses her instinct while choosing films.&nbsp;"Last 22 years, I think I have chosen scripts which have been emotionally connected to me, where I have thought that this is a story which needs to be told and secondly the character which has been offered to me, can I relate to it as Rani?"</p>

<p>The film released on March 23 and so far earned Rs 22.70 crore at the box office.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

As Rani Mukerji's latest film Hichki continues to do good business, the actress states that she would not be taking another four years to sign her next film. The actress, while addressing media, at the film's success bash, stated that Hichki was a litmus test for her. If the film had not done well, she may not have come back to movies. ": "Yes, I told everyone that my next film will be depending on the audience response of `Hichki`. I think now, I won`t take a long gap, I will make my next comeback soon," Rani said. "I will be doing more films because that is something I always love doing. But there was a gap for four years because of my marriage and baby. I wanted to see if the audience would be interested to see me onscreen. Now that I know, people are more than happy to see me onscreen, even I am ready. There are projects that I kept on hold before the release of `Hichki` will see the light of the day," said Rani who played the lead role of a teacher in the film. She was present along with the director Siddharth P. Malhotra and creative producer Maneesh Sharma at the media meet on Thursday to celebrate the success of "Hichki". The actress started shooting for the film when her daughter Adira was just 14 months old. Asked about how she finds the balance between motherhood and work, Rani said: "Well, she (her daughter) was of that age when babies take their first step. "One day I came back from shooting and she took her first step. I do not want to miss out on any of her milestones, and taking the first step was surely one of them. I was nervous that what if I am shooting and she takes her first step? "Now she started understanding, especially during the promotion of the film that I go to work. So when I go back home, she says, `Mumma please remove your make-up`. She does not like my makeup, just like her father. So that way, the DNA is working absolutely fine." The actress also stated that she uses her instinct while choosing films. "Last 22 years, I think I have chosen scripts which have been emotionally connected to me, where I have thought that this is a story which needs to be told and secondly the character which has been offered to me, can I relate to it as Rani?" The film released on March 23 and so far earned Rs 22.70 crore at the box office.

<p>The show is not even a week old and the host Kapil Sharma has already cancelled two of his shoots.</p>
