Such a depiction would create unfounded fear and mass paranoia by spreading misinformation about the adverse impact of mobile towers and mobile phones, the grouping said in a statement.

The content of the movie is "defamatory to COAI and its members, endangers public order, presents anti-scientific attitudes, constitutes offences including under various sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and is in violation of the provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952," it added.

The association has also requested CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to revoke the certificate issued for the teaser, trailer, promotional videos and the film with immediate effect. &nbsp;

The complaint states that the screening of the film should be stalled until their complaint is taken into cognisance and a resolution is determined.

Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on Friday tweeted in support of actor Vijay`s latest Tamil film "Sarkar". The duo also condemned unlawful acts such as damaging the film`s banners and demanding the removal of certain scenes from the film.

"Sarkar", a political thriller directed by A.R. Murugadoss,&nbsp;hit the screens on Tuesday. Ever since its release, many AIADMK ministers and party cadres expressed their displeasure over certain scenes in the film and indulged in damaging the banners of the film and cut-outs of actor Vijay.

Several party cadres on Wednesday protested outside various theatres in Tamil Nadu and demanded certain scenes to be removed from the film.

Rajinikanth lashed out against these acts. He took to Twitter and wrote in Tamil: "To protest for the removal of certain scenes from the movie and stop it from being screened after the Censor Board has certified it is against the law. I strongly condemn this act."

"2.0" was supposed to release on Diwali 2017, was pushed to&nbsp;January 2018 release owing to pending VFX work and was then finally shifted to April when the makers failed to meet the deadline.

In a report published on an entertainment website, a source close to the film said, “With the amount of VFX work on 2.0 that is still pending, there is no way the makers will be able to release the film this year. Days after the much-hyped release of Rajinikanth starrer 'Kaala,' AIADMK senior leader and Tamil Nadu Minister D Jayakumar today said a movie's success does not guarantee success in politics.

"Nobody can be accepted as a leader..Only on the basis of the success of a movie," he told reporters here.

With the Tamil superstar's June 7 movie release in over 2,000 screens worldwide witnessing impressive openings, according to the flick's publicist, Jayakumar said a person is recognised only for his welfare work for the public.

"People accept a person as a leader, based on the policies and goals and for the work done by being on their side," he said, without naming anyone while answering a question over stars and their entry into politics.

"This is the yardstick and there is nothing else," he said, adding fans decide the success of a movie, which has got nothing to do with politics.

'Kaala', that shines light on the struggles of the oppressed people to secure their rights, is viewed by the actor's fans as giving him a better foothold when he enters politics.

The Minister's remark assumes significance not only because of Rajinikanth's fans' high hopes from Kaala, but also over top actor Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2's release expectations, the production of which was already over.

Haasan, who launched his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam in February this year, is set to release the trailer for Vishwaroopam 2, a sequel to Vishwaroopam, on June 11.

The spy thriller is produced in Tamil, Hindi and dubbed in Telugu.

Kaala has hit 650 screens in Tamil Nadu, 600 in Andhra Pradesh, 243 in neighbouring Kerala and 126 in Karnataka, where the movie saw a delayed release due to protests and 1,000 overseas releases, the publicist told PTI.

Notably, it was the AIADMK which backed Rajinikanth recently for his "graveyard" and "anti-socials" remark after visiting the injured in Tuticorin anti-Sterlite violence.

The actor, who had last year announced that he would float a political party, said anti-social elements had infiltrated the protest by locals demanding closure of Sterlite's copper smelter unit in the southern port town.

He had also remarked that too many protests would turn Tamil Nadu into a 'graveyard.'

Violence and police firing on May 22 and 23 resulted in the deaths of 13 persons.

The ruling AIADMK, apart from this issue, has been quite critical of the actor on other matters.

AIADMK mouthpiece "Namathu Puratchi Thalaivi Amma" had days ago pointed out that the actor had praised late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for dealing with anti-social elements with an "iron fist."

"Superstar Rajinikanth has spoken frankly with conscience... He has endorsed Chief Minister K Palaniswami's statement that anti-social elements had infiltrated the protesters,"it said,adding the actor's remarks were "welcome."

DMK and other opposition parties in Tamil Nadu, however, had lashed out at Rajinikanth for his anti-socials comment.

'Kaala' cannot fix Rajinikanth's political win, taunts AIADMK

Rajinikanth latest screen venture 'Kaala'&nbsp;garnered lukewarm response in terms of initial bookings, unlike the actor's previous films but trade analysts are hopeful that the film will do good business over the weekend. 
As early reviews poured in, critics too seemed unimpressed with the Pa Ranjith's much-awaited film, whose screen counts is less than their previous collaboration, 'Kabali'. 
 
City-based trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai expects a good opening for the film which, according to him, will milk the age-old adage of "any publicity is good publicity". He, however, predicted that the numbers will be no match to 2016's ' Kabali'. 
 
"I think it will open good in Tamil Nadu because of the controversies surrounding the film. But I can't pinpoint numbers at the moment. Although the advance booking was not very good, the state government's special permission to conduct morning shows have helped. It is expected to do well since it is a Rajinikanth movie but it will not take a massive opening," Pillai told PTI.&nbsp; 
 
Till noon, some of the online portals showed availability of tickets, an anomaly for a Thalaivar's film as they are usually sold-out for the first two weeks in advance. 
 
The actor, who has announced his plan to enter active politics, has found himself in a tough spot with his comments on Cauvery water, leading to a demand for a ban of the film in the state by pro-Karnataka bodies and the state's film federation.&nbsp; 
 
Chennai-based trade expert Kaushik LM said 'Kaala'&nbsp;will outshine 'Kabali'&nbsp;over time.&nbsp; 
 
"Currently, the tracking suggests that the film may slightly fall behind the opening record of Vijay's 'Mersal' here since 'Kaala' has released on a non-festival day. But in the long run, I'm expecting 'Kaala' to beat this film's numbers in Tamil Nadu.&nbsp; 
 
"Salman Khan-fronted 'Race 3' will not have a big impact in the state next week, and 'Kaala' is expected to hold a good number of screens until next week for sure," he told PTI. 
 
Kaushik says breaching the Rs 100 crore-mark in Tamil Nadu will be a challenging feat but the state's distributors feel secure as major areas have scored a decent advance booking. 
 
"The Tamil Nadu rights for the film are valued at around Rs 62 crores... Except for a few territories which are distributed on MG (Minimum-Guarantee) basis, all the other areas in Tamil Nadu have been sold an advance commission basis, which is a safe bet for exhibitors. 
 
According to Deepak, a trade analyst who tracks box office in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the future of 'Kaala' appears dark as the story, which centres around the Tamil revolution in the slums of Dharavi, is bound to have a jarring effect on the Telugu-speaking audiences. 
 
"The audience response in the Telugu states is quite average, and the box-office opening is very dull. The makers are releasing the film through producer NV Prasad on a commission basis, which means they will recover whatever they receive from exhibitors. "The film's rights were not sold to anyone even when the makers received an offer for Rs 33 crores here. The low-key promos are one of the reasons for the flat response here. The plot of the movie revolves around the uprising of Tamils, and there is a definite disconnect among Telugu audiences," he said. 
 
The film, however, is nothing less than an event for Rajinikanth's devoted fan following, who were in theatres whether they agree with their star's politics or not. 
 
In another feat for the film, 'Kaala'&nbsp; became the first Indian film to release in Saudi Arabia, after the country lifted the ban on cinema viewing in public.

Distributor Home Screen Entertainment took to Twitter to confirm the news.

"The audience response in the Telugu states is quite average, and the box-office opening is very dull. The makers are releasing the film through producer NV Prasad on a commission basis, which means they will recover whatever they receive from exhibitors. "The film's rights were not sold to anyone even when the makers received an offer for Rs 33 crores here. The low-key promos are one of the reasons for the flat response here. The plot of the movie revolves around the uprising of Tamils, and there is a definite disconnect among Telugu audiences," he said. Bringing good news for the makers of the film, the Karnataka High Court directed the state government to provide the necessary security for the film’s peaceful release after threats against the same rose in number.&nbsp;

Pro-Kannada outfits had vehemently opposed the release of the film in Karnataka after Rajinikanth stated that whichever government comes to power in the state should implement the Supreme Court order on Cauvery water sharing. This led to the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) deciding on May 29 to not allow screening of "Kaala".&nbsp;

KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu had announced, "A decision has been taken that Rajinikanth's movie will neither be distributed nor screened anywhere in Karnataka."

The groups also requested Karnataka’s Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to ban "Kaala"&nbsp;following Rajinikanth's alleged views on the Cauvery dispute. They threatened to vandalise theatres if the screening of the film happens tomorrow.&nbsp;

Seeing the tense atmosphere in the state, Kumaraswamy had also backed deferring the release of "Kaala"&nbsp;in Karnataka, however, he said that the government would implement the directions of the Karnataka High Court for the&nbsp;smooth release of the film.&nbsp;

He said, “As the state government, I have to implement the directions of the high court. That I will take care of. It is my responsibility also. We will have to follow the high court direction.”

Bringing good news for the makers of the film, the Karnataka High Court directed the state government to provide the necessary security for the film’s peaceful release after threats against the same rose in number. Pro-Kannada outfits had vehemently opposed the release of the film in Karnataka after Rajinikanth stated that whichever government comes to power in the state should implement the Supreme Court order on Cauvery water sharing. This led to the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) deciding on May 29 to not allow screening of "Kaala". KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu had announced, "A decision has been taken that Rajinikanth's movie will neither be distributed nor screened anywhere in Karnataka." The groups also requested Karnataka’s Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to ban "Kaala" following Rajinikanth's alleged views on the Cauvery dispute. They threatened to vandalise theatres if the screening of the film happens tomorrow. Seeing the tense atmosphere in the state, Kumaraswamy had also backed deferring the release of "Kaala" in Karnataka, however, he said that the government would implement the directions of the Karnataka High Court for the smooth release of the film. He said, “As the state government, I have to implement the directions of the high court. That I will take care of. It is my responsibility also. We will have to follow the high court direction.” Kumaraswamy, however, stated his apprehensions and said, “According to my observation as an individual, not a chief minister, as a Kannaidaga…I request the producer or distributor of the movie, in this kind of atmosphere, it is not good on their part to release the movie.”

On Tuesday, Kamal met the newly-appointed Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru to discuss several issues concerning the ties between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Cauvery water-sharing issue was top on the agenda.

Post their closed-door meeting, both the CM and Kamal displayed a certain rapport at the media briefing. But when they were questioned on Kaala and debate around its release, both dismissed it. While Kumaraswamy claimed, “It was a different issue and not necessary”, Kamal affirmed with, “Not a word was spoken about that.”

“There are film chambers and business community who will take care of it (Kaala issue). And we (Kumaraswamy and Kamal) will see that good relationship exists between both the states,” he said.

He further added, “This is more important than movies if you ask me.”

This was not taken lightly by social media fans as Kamal’s statement sounded ironic to people who remembered the time when Rajinikanth championed Kamal when the latter’s film Vishwaroopam was met with the same response by activists groups.&nbsp;

Trade pundits feel the film needs to collect Rs 280 crore gross to be called a blockbuster hit, and this is inclusive of the Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions. If the film manages to release in Karnataka, they would have to earn a gross of Rs 300 crore. 
 
The figures are achievable considering that superstar is a crowd puller and release day of his films are considered as unofficial holidays in many parts of south India.&nbsp;

Prakash Raj slammed pro-Kannada groups for calling for a ban on Rajinikanth's new film Kaala. The actor took to Twitter to express his discontentment over the film's ban in the state. Kaala is scheduled to release in theaters this week.&nbsp; 
 
“There is a deep bond between man and a river. So when we talk of Cauvery we do extremely emotional about it. Speaking to reporters after meeting the victims of the violent protests, the latest entrant into Tamil Nadu politics said, the entire problem started after anti-social elements attacked police and burned down Collector's office, as a result, peaceful protesters were killed.&nbsp;

''If you undertake protest for each and everything, Tamil Nadu will be turned into a cemetery,'' the actor said.&nbsp;

Earlier, he visited a general hospital in Thoothukkudhi as a "goodwill gesture" &nbsp;and met with the people who suffered injuries during the anti-Sterlite protests.

The actor also announced Rs 2 compensation for each of the kin of those who died in the protest.&nbsp;

He also warned the Tamil Nadu government on the occasion and said ''government needs to be careful as the people are watching."&nbsp;

As many as 13 people lost their lives in an anti-Sterlite protest which turned violent after a clash broke out between the protestors and the local police.

The locals were protesting for the closure of the factory for 99 days when the protests took a violent turn on May 22, the 100th day of their stir.&nbsp;

On Monday the government directed the permanent closure of the Sterlite copper smelting plant in Thoothukudi.
