<p>For Virat Kohli's side - and indeed for the West Indies - it is a chance to pick up the pieces after a disappointing one-day international (ODI) World Cup in England and put behind them the recent talk of splits in the camp.</p>

<p>Kohli's confidant Ravi Shastri is on borrowed time before the appointment of a new coach, former captain MS Dhoni has skipped the tour to do military service while Kohli this week has had to dismiss talk of a rift with prolific opening batsman Rohit Sharma.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It baffles you as a leader, as a coach, and as a team when lies are being floated around," Kohli told reporters this week.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And they are made to look believable. We have had no issues."</p>

<p>India, unexpectedly beaten by New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final last month, are likely to find plenty of support during the first two T20s on Saturday and Sunday with expatriate Indians expected to outnumber West Indian fans at the delightful Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.</p>

<p>The celebrations started after India's seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their final league stage match on Saturday in Leeds.&nbsp;</p>

He said that since childhood, he wanted to become a painter and also shared two of his paintings. Dhoni said that he will soon hold an exhibition of his paintings and asked for suggestions and advice from his fans in this regard.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a video shared on Instagram, Dhoni said, "I wanted to share a secret with all of you. Right from when I was a kid I always wanted to become an artist."</p>

<p>Former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni Friday said he has no preference in the Indian batting order and is ready to bat at any position as per the need of the team.</p>

<p>Dhoni was adjudged the Man of the Series after he guided India to a comfortable seven-wicket win in the third ODI, thus securing a <a href="http://www.wionews.com/sports/india-win-maiden-odi-series-against-australia-down-under-191245">maiden 2-1 series win in Australia</a>.</p>

<p>Batting at number four, Dhoni, who generally bats at number six, anchored India's chase with a 114-ball 87 not out which was studded with six boundaries.</p>

<p>"I am happy to bat at any number. The important thing is where the team needs me," said Dhoni, when asked where he wants to bat.</p>

<p>"Whether I play at 4 or 6, we need to see if the team balance can be retained. I'm happy to bat lower down at 6. I can't say I can't bat at No. 6 after playing 14 years," he said after the match.</p>

<p>Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav shared a 121-run partnership for the unconquered fourth wicket while chasing a tricky target of 231.</p>

<p>Asked what the game plan was, Dhoni said: "It was a slow wicket, so it was difficult to hit whenever you wanted to. No point going after the bowlers who were bowling well, so we wanted to take it deep and that was the plan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Of course supported brilliantly by Kedar, who plays unorthodox shots. He did a great job in executing."</p>

Guess who is Hardik Pandya's 'forever love'

<p>Mahendra Singh Dhoni was on Friday dropped from India's Twenty20 squad for the home series against the West Indies and the crucial away assignment against Australia, signaling a possible end to his run in the shortest format.</p>

<p>In the other major decision, skipper Virat Kohli was rested from the T20 series against the West Indies and Rohit Sharma named the stand-in captain of the side after a late-evening meeting of the MSK Prasad-led selection committee here.</p>

<p>The committee said that Dhoni, the 2007 World T20-winning skipper, has been "rested" and India is now looking to fill in the second wicketkeeper's slot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But when asked if Dhoni's career in T20s is over, Prasad said, "Not yet".</p>

<p>"We want to try out other keepers for the second keeper's slot," said Prasad.</p>

<p>The two keepers in the two T20 squads announced Friday are Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. The three T20s against Australia will get underway from November 21, followed by a four-Test series and three ODIs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With Dhoni playing only seven T20Is this year and India's next ODI assignment only in January against Australia, the former captain won't be getting any domestic matches with both Vijay Hazare and Deodhar Trophy already over.</p>

<p>The 37-year-old, despite being a sharp planner and a safe and agile hand behind the stumps, has been struggling to finish matches with the bat, something that came naturally to him at his peak and made him a modern legend.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The decision to "rest" Dhoni might just be the first sign of selectors trying to phase out the maverick former captain in at least one format. A veteran of 93 T20Is, Dhoni has 1487 runs in the format at a strike rate of 127.09.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The only T20Is left in the next six months is a three-game series against New Zealand, which is scheduled in February.</p>

<p>In some of the other decisions, Murali Vijay has been brought back in the Test squad for Australia along with the fit-again Ishant Sharma.</p>

<p>"Vijay went back and performed and considering the intensity of the series we have brought him," Prasad said.</p>

<p>Rohit Sharma has been included as an additional batsman in the Test squad and he makes a comeback after being dropped for indifferent form in South Africa.</p>

<p>"With regards to Rohit, he is a good back-foot player and his game is much suited in Australia," said Prasad.<br />
Another significant comeback in the Test side is Parthiv Patel as the second keeper alongside Pant.</p>

<p>"Parthiv was not picked for Afghanistan Test and subsequent England series. He played the Duleep Trophy and whatever matches that happened, he batted well. It's an intensive series (in Australia) and we have called him back," reasoned the chairman.</p>

<p>In the limited-overs set-up, left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem received his maiden call-up for the T20s against West Indies.</p>

<p>Fit-again batsman Kedar Jadhav, whose omission from ODIs came under the scanner, has been brought back for the fourth and fifth ODI.</p>

<p>The BCCI has also selected Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Parthiv Patel, Prithvi Shaw for India A tour of New Zealand.</p>

The three T20s against Australia will get underway from November 21, followed by a four-Test series and three ODIs. The 37-year-old, despite being a sharp planner and a safe and agile hand behind the stumps, has been struggling to finish matches with the bat, something that came naturally to him at his peak and made him a modern legend. The decision to "rest" Dhoni might just be the first sign of selectors trying to phase out the maverick former captain in at least one format. A veteran of 93 T20Is, Dhoni has 1487 runs in the format at a strike rate of 127.09. The only T20Is left in the next six months is a three-game series against New Zealand, which is scheduled in February. In some of the other decisions, Murali Vijay has been brought back in the Test squad for Australia along with the fit-again Ishant Sharma. "Vijay went back and performed and considering the intensity of the series we have brought him," Prasad said. Rohit Sharma has been included as an additional batsman in the Test squad and he makes a comeback after being dropped for indifferent form in South Africa. "With regards to Rohit, he is a good back-foot player and his game is much suited in Australia," said Prasad. Another significant comeback in the Test side is Parthiv Patel as the second keeper alongside Pant. "Parthiv was not picked for Afghanistan Test and subsequent England series. He played the Duleep Trophy and whatever matches that happened, he batted well. It's an intensive series (in Australia) and we have called him back," reasoned the chairman. <p>BCCI on Wednesday announced the Annual Player Contracts for the period from October 2017 to September 2018, with the introduction of a new category A+ for the men&#39;s cricket team and Category C&nbsp;for Senior Women.</p>

<p>The Committee of Administrators (CoA) had a meeting in Mumbai on February 27 where this decision was taken.&nbsp;</p>

<p>MS Dhoni did not get the Grade A+ contract, which was given to Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.</p>

<p>Mohammed Shami&rsquo;s name did not feature in any of the categories.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shami found himself in controversy after his wife alleged him for extra-marital affairs and physical harassment on Wednesday. It is not clear if that played a role.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The Hon&rsquo;ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) for BCCI on Wednesday announced the Annual Player Contracts for the period from October 2017 to September 2018. The CoA was of the view that the performance and position of Indian Cricket need to be recognised with the fee structure comparable to the best in the world,&quot; the BCCI release stated.</p>

BCCI announces new pay contracts; MS Dhoni not in top group, Mohammed Shami gets nothing

<p>India&#39;s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni takes his fitness beyond seriously and this was reinstated earlier today when he lured Hardik Pandya, 24, into running a 100-metre dash and beat him effortlessly.</p>

<p>Dhoni, 36, who started out as football goalkeeper and loves badminton is known to keep a strict workout plan.</p>
