Last Sunday, West revealed that he and the 39-year-old reality tv star considered getting an abortion after she found out she was pregnant with their daughter North in 2012.A source told the outlet last week, "Kim is shocked that Kanye spoke about North at the rally. She is furious that he shared something so private''.

The couple wed in 2014 and share four children: daughters -- 7-year-old North and 2-and-a-half -year-old Chicago, and sons 4-and-a-half -year-old Saint and 14 months old Psalm. The source also told a magazine that West is "still focusing on his music."

Last week, he tweeted out an image of a new 12-song tracklist for his next album, 'Donda', named after his late mother. The album is yet to be released, despite the rapper claiming in his tweet it would be out on July 24.The source said, "He is very excited about his new music and can`t wait to share it with the world. He wants it to be perfect though. And it`s almost perfect."

Kim Kardashian on Wednesday asked for compassion and empathy for her rapper husband Kanye West`s struggles with bi-polar disorder that have led to a series of rambling public remarks on subjects ranging from politics to his marriage.
Kardashian`s statement on her Instagram stories account was her first public comment on weeks of interviews, public appearances and Twitter comments by West that have raised concern about the Grammy-winning singer`s mental health.

"As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder," she wrote, calling him a "brilliant but complicated person."
Kardashian did not mention West`s stated plan to run for the White House in the November 2020 election. West held a rally in South Carolina at the weekend under his self-styled Birthday Party banner but has not outlined any coherent political policies.

"Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions," Kardashian wrote.

Kim Kardashian asks for compassion as Kanye West struggles with bi-polar disorder

Kanye West sent out a barrage of tweets on Tuesday and revealed that he’s been trying to divorce his wife Kim Kardashian for several years now.

“I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at Warldolf(sic)” wrote West on Twitter. The tweet was later deleted. West was referring to the 2018 prison reform summit at a luxury hotel that was attended by Kardashian and rapper Meek Mill.

West added, "Meek is my man and was respectful. That’s my dog. Kim was out of line.”

Hours later Mill took to twitter to refute West’s claim. The rapper wrote, “"S--t is cappp cmon (sic) ....." on Twitter. ‘Cap’ is a slang term for ‘lie.’

Kardashian is yet to react to West’s allegation. However, late on Wednesday, she did take to Instagram stories to comment on mental illness and her husband’s bipolar disorder.

“As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand," Kardashian wrote.

She stated that so far she had avoided speaking on the matter to respect her husband’s privacy and protect her children.

Asking media to show empathy, she stated, “He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressure of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder,” she wrote. “Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions.” Read the full statement here.

Meek Mill addresses Kanye West's tweets about meeting with Kim Kardashian

US rapper and apparent presidential candidate Kanye West has in the past opened up about his struggles with bipolar disorder.

But his recent erratic behavior has again called into question his health and treatment.

He launched his election campaign Sunday with a rambling speech that saw him rant incoherently, reveal he had wanted to abort his daughter, and break down in tears.

What is the mental illness and why do many creative people seem to get it?

- Highs and lows -

Bipolar disorder, formerly known as "manic depression," is characterized by extreme mood swings.

On the one hand, patients experience very high periods known as "mania" when they feel energized, elated and can make reckless decisions. They sometimes also experience delusions.

"They can almost have no inhibitions at all, which means they can spend their life savings in a day," said Andrew Nierenberg, a psychiatry professor at Harvard.

"They can do something that's really bad judgment that they wouldn't ordinarily do, either sexually, or in relationships, or work."

The other "pole" of the illness is depression: ultra-low episodes that can include inability to feel pleasure and suicidal thoughts.

The illness affects up to three percent of the population, which makes it more common than schizophrenia but rarer than depression.

And there can be much variation among patients, said Timothy Sullivan, the chair of psychiatry at Staten Island University Hospital.

Some are more depressive and rarely manic, while others are the other way around.

As a result, diagnoses are typically delayed for years. If a patient has so far only experienced depression, they may be misdiagnosed.

West first revealed his diagnosis on his 2018 album "Ye," where he called it his "superpower." Last year, he revealed it caused him paranoid delusions and described being handcuffed during treatment.

- Risk factors -

Bipolar disorder is known to be "one of the more heritable mental illnesses" said Katherine Burdick, a psychologist at Harvard and the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

If one of your parents had the disorder, your risk is somewhere between 10 to 20 percent.

Scientists are looking for the genes responsible, and trying to understand how these might affect the parts of the brain that deal with emotion.

Another line of research suggests that bipolar disorder could be linked to a flaw in how cells regulate energy, said Nierenberg.

There may also be environmental factors.

For many, but not all patients, "there's a higher rate of childhood trauma, childhood abuse and neglect," said Burdick.
Substance abuse is also a risk factor, and women sometimes develop it later in life compared to men.

- COVID a trigger? -

The bedrock for treatment is mood stabilizing drugs, and the best of these is still lithium, which has been used since the 1940s.

Anti-inflammatory drugs that reduce an abnormal immune response are being investigated as a treatment, but research is preliminary.

Experts have also started to understand the role that the disruption of "social rhythms" play in bipolar disorder, which has shifted more attention toward therapy.

For instance, the death of a pet can trigger a depression-mania cycle, but when scientists studied such events closely, they realized patients were not driven by grief alone.

"Not only did the person suffer psychologically from that loss, but they used to take the dog out for walks, they got exercise, and it also got them up early in the day so that they had social interactions," said Sullivan.

People with bipolar disorder are sensitive to such disruptions, which means events like the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns can cause particular harm.

"I have actually had one patient who I haven't seen in more than 10 years, who I don't currently treat, who called me up out of the blue and she's clearly manic," said Sullivan.

Support groups like the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance are credited with raising awareness and destigmatizing the illness.

- Creative link? -

There is thought to be an over-representation of artists, writers and musicians among people with bipolar disorder, a subject explored in the book "Touched with Fire."

Figures from history who may have had the illness include Vincent Van Gogh.

"Creative people are distinguished by particularly unique ways of thinking that involve intense emotional experiences" explained Sullivan.

"It may be that that capacity for that sensitivity involves regulatory systems in the brain that also render you vulnerable to mood disorders."

Some patients with bipolar disorder see their condition as an asset, even if it can alienate friends and family.
"Researchers have asked a group of patients with different diagnoses, 'If you had a button that you could press tomorrow and make this go away, would you?' said Burdick.

"And the only group of patients that do not opt, more commonly than not, to press the button, are bipolar patients."

Kanye West's erratic behavior puts the spotlight on bipolar disorder

It has not been easy for the Kardashian-West clan as reports of them being at “their throats” during the lockdown has surfaced several times. The time together got them crazy and now the couple is said to be living in separate homes to find some private time doing their “own thing”.

While Kim Kardashian continues to live in the couple’s Los Angeles home, Kanye is staying at his ranch in Wyoming with some select friends that he has given rights to. It is being said that Kanye has reportedly lost trust in Kim Kardashian. Kanye West posts rambling tweets on wife Kim Kardashian, then deletes

There have been talks about Kanye’s mental health too as the rapper recently broke down during his presidential bid two days earlier. He also spoke of wanting to abort their first child, North among other things. He also revealed he feels that ‘Get Out’, Oscar-winning film is inspired by his life as his wife too wanted to get him locked. Kanye West claims hit film 'Get Out' was about him

Now, Kanye tweeted and then deleted that he has been wanting to divorce Kim ever since she met up with his rival Meek Mill at the Waldorf Hotel. In his latest rambling tweets, he said that Kim was “out of line” to meet Meek Mill to talk about “prison reform” and blasted her mother Kris Jenner as “Kris Jong-Un” while accusing the pair of “white supremacy.”

While he deleted the screenshots of his message to Kris, Kanye shared a picture with his children and wrote, "West children will never do playboy." He added, "I love my wife. My family must live next to me."

'He would have to view this as a trial run' for 2024: Trump on Kanye West Presidential bid

If Kanye West is serious about running for president, the American rapper and fashion designer will face major obstacles to mount a serious campaign less than four months before the November 3 US presidential election.

West, who said in a July 4 Twitter post that he was running, would have to work fast to get his name on the ballot alongside President Donald Trump, a Republican, and the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia.

One of Trump`s celebrity supporters, West would have two routes to doing so. He could try secure the backing of a smaller political party, said James McCann, a political scientist at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Without a party helping him get on the ballot, another option would be to try to appear as an independent candidate.
But deadlines for registering that way have already passed in a handful of states, including New Mexico and key battleground North Carolina.

Getting on the ballot as an independent would also require hiring staff or recruiting volunteers to quickly gather many tens of thousands of signatures across the nation before other registration periods close in August and September, a task currently made more difficult by the coronavirus pandemic.

"It`s hard to see Kanye West having a field operation," said McCann, adding that another option would be for West to ask supporters to write his name on the ballot.

It is unclear if West, who is also known for his marriage to reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, has filed any official paperwork to appear on state election ballots. Reuters was unable to reach West`s publicist for comment.

West, a celebrity highly skilled in grabbing the spotlight, has previously announced plans to run for president without doing so. Last week he entered a 10-year deal with Gap Inc to create a line of clothing carrying the "Yeezy" brand name.

He made headlines during a visit to the White House in October 2018 when he delivered a rambling, profanity-laden speech in which he discussed alternative universes and his diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Three weeks later, he said he was distancing himself from politics and that he believed he had been used to spread messages he did not believe in.
Even with a serious campaign, West would be unlikely to draw more than a few percentage points of the vote, peeling away similar numbers of votes from Trump and Biden, said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia`s Center for Politics.

"He`s got a long way to go even to convince us that he`s serious," said Sabato.

The most recent candidate to put significant effort into launching a presidential campaign a few months before the election was Evan McMullin, a former CIA operative who announced his bid in August 2016. McMullin only appeared on the ballot in 11 states, receiving 0.53% of the popular vote.

"There`s a way to run as an outsider but it`s hard and expensive, and I think West, or anyone else, has missed their window of opportunity to have a meaningful impact," said Nathan Gonzales, editor of Inside Elections, which provides nonpartisan analysis of campaigns.

From regular to star couples, quarantine time is hard on almost every family. Kim Kardashian and rapper husband Kanye West recently celebrated six years of marriage last weekend and it was all mushy on social media but reports suggest that not all’s well between them. Kim and Kanye, are both said to lead individualistic lives along with one that includes them as family but due to lockdown that has been put in place because of the coronavirus scare, the two like many others, are not seeing eye-to-eye. US Weekly magazine reported that the two have been on “different pages”. The power couple have been at home in quarantine from the COVID-19 pandemic with their four children - North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. A source for the weekly said, “Sometimes they are on different pages. She gets up early and works out and he is up late. Kim is working out nonstop and doing her thing. Kanye is having a harder time because he does not have a regimented routine like Kim.” The source added that the two have, regardless, been doing their best to try to make it work. All this comes to light two days after Kim and Kanye celebrated their sixth anniversary. Kanye put up a floral arrangement on their kitchen table. Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian heat up Instagram with bikini photos

Kim Kardashian West recently recorded new success when her line of face masks became sold out within the first hour of release. Capitalising on the coronavirus pandemic, Kim Kardashian launched a line of face masks under the name of her shapewear label, Skims.

Kim Kardashian's Skims face masks accused of 'casual racism'

Kim Kardashian has done it again. The reality tv star has found herself embroiled in yet another controversy- this time the South Asian is calling her out for cultural appropriation.

Kardashian recently posted a photo dressed in a crop top and skirt. To accessorize, she wore gold bangles and a maang tika, a traditional hair accessory commonly worn by women in India and Pakistan.

Several accused her of using tradition as a prop. "As being someone who comes from a South Asian background seeing Kim Kardashian wearing a TIKKA pisses me off. My culture isn’t your “aesthetic” or “style” so please show some respect and not use it for you to model in. Cultural appropriation is not okay," wrote a user.

This isn't the first time that Kardashian has been accused of cultural appropriation. In 2019, she was trolled for wearing a maang tika to a church service. Then when she had launched her shapewear line and named it 'Kimono', Japenese women had criticised her claiming that a traditional Kimono is not an innerwear.

Kim Kardashian latest social media post gets called out for cultural appropriation by South Asians

Days after the full audio of her phone conversation with Kanye West got leaked online, Taylor Swift has stated that she felt vindicated by West and his wife Kim Kardashian.

In an image posted as part of her Instagram Stories, the singer wrote, "Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years)? SWIPE up to see what really matters."

She asked people to now move on from the headline-grabbing infamous feud between her and Kim and Kanye -- which stemmed from the rapper`s lyrics in his track 'Famous'.

Interestingly, in the garb of showing the real truth behind the controversial audio clip, Swift directed her fans to the Feeding America website, suggesting they donate to the non-profit organisation that operates a network of food banks helping people impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

"The World Health Organization and Feeding America are some of the organisations I`ve been donating to. If you have the ability to, please join me in donating during this crisis," she said.

The leaked video of a phone call is about the controversy surrounding West`s lyrics about Swift in his song 'Famous'. Swift claimed she was unaware that West would refer to her as "that b***h" in his song. But West`s wife Kim had shared an edited video in 2016 of West speaking to Swift and getting her approval for the song.

Now, the leaked footage that came out on Friday supports Swift`s story and shows that West and Kim only presented a part of the conversation back in 2016.

On Monday, the couple's 6-year-old daughter North West jazzed up the Paris fashion week with an endearing rap item- much to the surprise of the audience. The little star sang along to a musical trackl while models strutted down the runway.

While North's performance was lauded by most present at the event, many on social media stated that North`s tune sounded very similar to another viral child sensation, ZaZa.

Hours after the impromptu show, ZaZa`s disgruntled parents went on their daughter`s official Instagram handle and wrote, "We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don`t wanna feel like our daughter`s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED."

US reality TV star Kim Kardashian heaped praise on Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg on October 8, calling her a "brave and amazing young woman" and said she shared her concerns about climate change.

Kardashian, 38, said she would love to have dinner with Thunberg, who told world leaders at the opening of a United Nations conference last month that they had stolen her childhood with "empty words".

"She (Thunberg) is such an amazing young girl, and so brave and courageous to stand up to these grown-ups that can be very scary and for her to be so open and honest is exactly what we need," Kardashian told Reuters in an exclusive interview during a visit to Armenia.

"Climate change is a serious problem," said Kardashian, who was attending the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in the Armenian capital Yerevan.

She said she also wanted to talk to Thunberg's parents and to share her thoughts as a social media entrepreneur.

"Speaking on a big platform invites a lot of different opinions and personalities and how they (parents) manage that," Kardashian said.
