South Africa's foreign ministry hailed the ruling by the UN's top court and called it a "decisive victory" for the international rule of law.

"Today marks a decisive victory for the international rule of law and a significant milestone in the search for justice for the Palestinian people," the foreign ministry said.

The International Court of Justice ruled in favour of South Africa's request to impose emergency measures against Israel over its military operations in Gaza.

The court ordered Israel to prevent acts of genocide against the Palestinians and do more to help civilians, in&nbsp;its war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

However, the court has not yet ruled on whether genocide occurred in Gaza, which was the&nbsp;very core of the case brought up by South Africa.

<h2>Israel must prevent actions violating Genocide Convention: ICJ</h2>

In its ruling, the ICJ said that it has taken into account the Israeli defence minister's comments regarding 'human animals' in Gaza. The court ruled that some of the acts and omissions committed by Israel are under the Genocide Convention's provisions. ICJ said that no evidence of genocide in Gaza must be destroyed.

The International Court of Justice has further ordered Israel to take all possible measures to prevent genocide and any kind of actions which fall under the scope of the Genocide Convention.

A case was filed by South Africa against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in December, in which they had alleged that the devastating offensive against Hamas, in which 25,700 people were killed, amounted to state-led genocide and had breached the UN’s genocide convention, which was signed in 1948 in response to the Holocaust.

South Africa has appealed to the ICJ to impose nine orders on Israel which include immediate suspension of military activity and provide more access to humanitarian aid to war-torn Gaza.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor, on Thursday (Jan 25) about the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza. Therefore, the judgement on Friday will be an initial one at best and does not necessarily mean that Israel is being convicted based on the accusations of genocide. The court is also not bound to act on measures sought by South Africa and can order its own.&nbsp;

“South Africa does not need to prove that Israel is committing genocide,” Juliette McIntyre, an international law expert told AFP. She added, “They simply need to establish that there is a plausible risk of genocide occurring.”&nbsp;

According to experts, if the court decides there is a risk of genocide in Gaza, it could still have a ripple effect, particularly on the nations which support Israel politically or militarily.

<h2>Situation on the ground</h2>

As the world waits with bated breath for ICJ’s ruling, which could potentially see a halt in the months-long war, media reports citing sources have said diplomatic efforts to bring about a break in the conflict are underway.&nbsp;

A report by Reuters citing sources said US and Israeli intelligence chiefs were due to meet Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Europe this weekend, and Egypt’s intelligence chief would also participate.

Meanwhile, in Israel, protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continue as families and supporters of the more than 100 remaining Israeli hostages took to the streets demanding that the government strike a deal to secure their release.&nbsp;

UK's Ministry of Defence on Sunday (Jan 21) announced its expenditure to upgrade a projectile system, that currently is being used by the Royal Navy, to shoot down drones over the Red Sea.

Britain's Ministry of Defence said that it would spend a total of $514 million (405 million pounds) on the Sea Viper Air Defence system.

The MoD released a statement saying that Sea Viper would be upgraded with missiles featuring a new warhead and software that will allow it to counter ballistic missile threats.

The contracts were awarded to the British division of MBDA, a missiles joint venture owned by Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo, the statement further added.

"As the situation in the Middle East worsens, it is vital that we adapt to keep the UK, our allies and partners safe," Defence Minister Grant Shapps said in the statement.

"Sea Viper has been at the forefront of this, being the Navy's weapon of choice in the first shooting down of an aerial threat in more than 30 years."

The announcement comes amid tensions in the Red Sea region after the United States and Britain launched retaliatory coalition strikes and shot down drones by Yemen's Houthi rebel group as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to heighten.

Earlier, on Saturday (Jan 20), the United States had launched fresh strikes on Yemen's Houthi rebels targeting an anti-ship ballistic missile, which as per the US army, was aimed into the Gulf of Aden and was prepared to launch.

"In exchange for the release of our hostages, Hamas demands the end of the war, the withdrawal of our forces from Gaza, the release of all the murderers and rapists and leaving Hamas intact,"&nbsp;said the Israeli PM in a statement.

"I reject outright the terms of surrender of the monsters of Hamas," he added.

A senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters that the Israeli leader’s refusal to end the military offensive in Gaza “means there is no chance for the return of the (Israeli) captives.”

<h2>Netanyahu under pressure</h2>

There has been mounting pressure on the Israeli PM to secure the release of the 136 hostages who remain in Hamas captivity. According to Israeli officials, some 240 people were taken by the Palestinian militant group following the October 7 attacks on Israel.&nbsp;

More than 100 hostages were released under a deal brokered in late November by the United States, Qatar and Egypt, in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.&nbsp;

On Sunday evening, family members of the hostages began a protest outside Netanyahu’s private home in Jerusalem while others&nbsp;camped outside the Israeli PM’s house in Caesarea on Saturday (Jan 20) and planned to stay there until he met&nbsp;them.

Israel’s Hostages and Missing Families Forum said the protesters would remain until “the prime minister agrees to a deal to return the hostages”.&nbsp;

They have also demanded&nbsp;that Netanyahu “clearly state that we will not abandon civilians, soldiers, and others kidnapped in the October debacle.”

“We must advance the deal now,” said the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum, adding that “If the prime minister decides to sacrifice the hostages, he should show leadership and honestly share his position with the Israeli public.”&nbsp;

<h2>Netanyahu rejects calls for Palestinian state</h2>

In his statement on Sunday, the Israeli PM reiterated his strong line on the issue of Palestinian statehood and said, “I will not compromise on full Israeli security control of all territory west of the Jordan River.”&nbsp;

This was a day after Netanyahu pushed back against the United States President Joe Biden’s remarks where he spoke of Palestinian statehood once the war against Hamas in Gaza ends.&nbsp;The Israeli PM, on Sunday, repeated that he would insist upon “full Israeli security control over all the territory west of Jordan.”

He also said that it was his “insistence” that prevented the establishment of a Palestinian state which, according to Netanyahu “would have posed an existential danger to Israel.”

The tunnel was rigged with blast doors and explosives, he said.

"According to the testimonies we have, about 20 hostages were held in this tunnel at different times under harsh conditions without daylight, in dense air with little oxygen, and terrible humidity that makes breathing difficult," he said.

As per the official Syrian news agency SANA, a residential building was targeted in the strike which was situated in the Mazzeh neighbourhood of Damascus.

However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said that the Israeli strike hit a four-storey building where "Iran-aligned leaders" were holding a meeting.

"An Israeli missile strike targeted a four-storey building, killing five people... and destroying the whole building where Iran-aligned leaders were meeting," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based organisation that relies on a network of sources on the ground.

Israel said it was investigating the footage released by&nbsp;Hamas showing the bodies of two Israeli hostages. The&nbsp;Palestinian terror outfit claimed that the hostages&nbsp;had been killed in the Israeli military strikes.&nbsp;

In the purported video, 26-year-old Noa&nbsp;Argamani can be seen reading a script in front of a wall, saying her fellow hostages Itai Svirsky and Yossi Sharabi had been killed. The footage ends with pictures of the dead bodies of both men.&nbsp;

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the claim&nbsp;made by Hamas that the military targeted the building where hostages were being held, was a lie. He, however, indicated that it was possible that the hostages were located close to a building that the IDF targeted.&nbsp;

“Itai&nbsp;was not killed by our forces. This is a Hamas lie. The building where they were held was not a target and was not attacked by our forces,"&nbsp;Hagari said.&nbsp;

“We did not know their exact location in real-time. We do not strike where we know there are hostages. In retrospect, we know that we attacked targets close to the location where they were held,” he added.&nbsp;

Hagari said the military was examining the photos Hamas posted along with the other information it had.&nbsp;

Israel probes video showing bodies of hostages who Hamas says were killed by Israeli attacks

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for a larger, more authoritative Israeli-Palestinian peace conference and a timetable to implement a two-state solution as the Gaza conflict escalated and the Red Sea became a new flash point.

Speaking to reporters after talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo on Sunday (Jan 14), Wang said the international community should "listen" carefully to the legitimate concerns in the Middle East.

"China calls for the convening of a larger-scale, more authoritative and more effective international peace conference, the formulation of a specific timetable and road map for the implementation of the 'two-state solution', and support for the prompt resumption of Israel-Palestinian peace talks," Wang said.

A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday that the road map needed to be "binding".

"As for the timing and venue of the conference and where it will be hosted, I think it needs to be determined by all parties through consultation," Mao Ning said at a regular news conference in Beijing.

"China also welcomes the active role of the United Nations in this regard," she said.

Last week, the United States and Britain launched strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen after the group attacked ships in the Red Sea. The Houthis said their attacks are a show of support for Palestinians and Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza.

The Red Sea attacks have forced commercial ships to take a longer, costlier route around Africa, stoking concern about inflation and supply chain disruptions.

Berlin would be able to intervene in the proceedings at The Hague in line with an article which allows states to seek clarification on the use of a multilateral convention. Hebestreit said Israel was “defending itself” after the “inhuman” attacks by Hamas on October 7.&nbsp;

“In view of Germany’s history, crimes against humanity, and Shoah the government is particularly committed to the UN Genocide Convention,” Hebestreit said.

He added, “The German government supports the International Court of Justice in its work, as it has done for many decades. The government intends to intervene as a third party in the main hearing.”&nbsp;

Israel ‘genocide’ case: Western countries reject S. Africa’s charges; Turkey to provide documents

Israel on Friday (Jan 12) rebuffed the genocide claims made against it, saying that it does not seek to destroy the Palestinians in its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and called South Africa's allegations "baseless".

It is precisely because of this, when an international lawyer makes a gaffe or a 'silly error' it becomes the talk of the town. And in the social media age, this means global trolling.

Not that his competence or legal expertise was called into question, but British lawyer Malcolm Shaw, one of those representing the Israeli side in the ongoing 'genocide' case in the ICJ, has a 'whoops' moment just when he was in the middle of presenting his argument in the case that involves some serious charges against Israel.

As he carefully and methodically presented what he wanted to say in the matter, the courtroom was silent and attentive to the extent that even a pindrop could be heard. The panel of judges looked at documents, possibly thinking about finer points of International Law and its applications in the context of Israel-Hamas war, expecting strong argument from Shaw...when he just stopped talking.

All eyes were suddenly on Shaw as the continuous stream of proceedings suddenly stopped. And they saw him going through his papers.

A lawyer messing around with the papers in an international court may be a rare sight as everyone is expected to be in tip-top form backed by their painstaking preparation beforehand, but Shaw started looking at his papers, clearly not finding what he was meant to.

"Excuse me....I've lost the page," he can be heard saying in the video recording of the court proceedings.

"Well, someone has shuffled my papers," he added as he looked at page after page.

Germany, on Wednesday (Jan 10) said that they have approved the delivery of 150 IRIS-T air-to-air missiles to Saudi Arabia, marking a reversal in the years-long decision to ban arms exports to the kingdom. The restrictions were imposed by Berlin in 2018 in response to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.&nbsp;

Government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit confirmed a report by the German weekly Spiegel, which said Berlin had authorised the sale of the 150 missiles to Riyadh. “The details of this report are accurate,” said Hebestreit, speaking at a daily press conference.

He added that IRIS-T could “be fired from aircraft at airborne targets, that is to say missiles, drones and so on”.&nbsp;

<h2>What changed Germany’s mind?</h2>

The move marks a major shift of policy for Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government. According to Spiegel, the authorisation to send missiles, produced by German arms maker Diehl and fired by Saudi Arabia’s Eurofighter jets, was granted towards the end of last year.&nbsp;

Reuters citing a security source said that the new batch of missiles is meant to replenish Saudi stocks depleted over the past years, adding that recently the kingdom has used them to shoot down drones fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen.

However, Berlin has recently loosened its stance, and even praised Saudi Arabia’s “constructive approach,” amid the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.&nbsp;

German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock during a visit to Jerusalem on Sunday (Jan 7) said Saudi Arabia has been making a significant contribution to Israel’s security after Hamas’ October 7 attacks and “this is helping to contain the danger of the conflict spreading across the region.”

She noted that Riyadh had also made efforts to intercept missiles fired at Israel by Iran-backed Yemen-based Houthi rebels.&nbsp;

Scholz and Baerbock have also said that Germany will no longer stand in the way of British plans to sell additional Eurofighters to Saudi Arabia.

Currently, Saudi Arabia has 72 Eurofighters, as reported by DW. Previously, the United Kingdom said that they would like to supply 48 more to the kingdom, a decision which required Berlin’s approval since the Eurofighter project is a joint British, German, Italian and Spanish effort.

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, currently in Saudi Arabia to discuss energy and economic cooperation, said the country had an important role to play regarding the stabilisation of the Middle East.&nbsp;

Germany resumes arms sales to Saudi Arabia, ending years-long ban

The Israeli Army on Wednesday (Jan 10) said one of its vehicles "unintentionally" ran over the body of a Palestinian "terrorist" during a counter-terrorism operation in the occupied West Bank after footage of the incident went viral.&nbsp;

The incident was caught on security camera and shared widely on social media platforms, showcasing the brutality of the Israeli Army.&nbsp;The video showed the&nbsp;armoured vehicle slowly driving over what seemed to be a lifeless body which had been shot down moments earlier.&nbsp;The vehicle then stops, restarts and drives off, crushing the body again with its back wheels.

"The operational vehicle that is seen in the video was dispatched in order to extricate the force that was caught under heavy fire, and unintentionally ran over the terrorist's body," the Israeli military was quoted as saying by AFP news agency.

Meanwhile, the&nbsp;Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the "culture of hatred and extremism" spread by the Israeli Army.&nbsp;

The incident reportedly took place in the&nbsp;Tulkarm area, one of the main crossing points between the West Bank and Israel. The region has witnessed repeated raids by the Israeli Army since the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas.&nbsp;

The Tulkarm Brigades, an armed terror group linked to Fatah, claimed that one of its Palestinian members was killed in the attack.&nbsp;

Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad on Monday (Jan 8) released video footage which it claimed showed an Israeli hostage alive in its custody in Gaza after being held hostage during Hamas' Oct 7 assault against Israel.

The man in the video, who spoke in English and Hebrew languages, pleaded for his release and also paid tribute to another hostage Tamir Adar, who was announced dead in early January by his kibbutz community in southern Israel, according to news agency AFP reports.

The location, from where the video was shot, is not yet known.

The family of the hostage, who hails from Nir Oz kibbutz, reportedly urged the media to not broadcast the footage.

The hostage is one out of the 75 people seized by Palestinian militants from Nir Oz during the unprecedented Oct 7 attack launched by Hamas against Israel, as per the Israeli community near the border with the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in December, the Al Quds Brigades, which is the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, released a video of two male Israeli hostages on its Telegram account, pleading for their release.

The two men, who identified themselves as Gadi Moses and Elad Katzir, in the video called for the efforts to be intensified so that they could reunite with their families.

"We are dying every moment. We are in an unbearable situation," said Moses, looking at the camera against a plain background. The two men were both unshaven and appeared to have lost weight.

Hamas had also released a short video which showed three other elderly Israeli hostages whom the Islamist group had held during the rampage when it took around 240 people hostage.&nbsp;

Israel denounced the footage as a "criminal, terrorist video."

Hamas, during its rampage, seized nearly 253 hostages from southern Israel, out of which 132 still remain in captivity, according to Israeli officials.

Israel on Monday (Jan 8) joined the bandwagon in promoting Lakshadweep's tourism, hailing its "pristine and majestic" beaches and underwater marvels.

Amid the India-Maldives diplomatic row, the Israel Embassy, in a posting on its official X account, announced that it will start the desalination programme in the islands on Tuesday (Jan 9).

Earlier on Sunday, the Maldivian government, in its response to the row over the minister's remarks, said that the opinions shared were "personal" and that they do not represent its views.

In a statement, the government said that appropriate action would be taken against the minister at the centre of the storm. Male said it is aware of derogatory remarks on social media platforms against foreign leaders and high-ranking individuals.&nbsp;

Idan Amedi, an actor-singer best known for his role in the Netflix series Fauda, has reportedly sustained serious injuries while fighting as an Israeli Army reservist during the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza.

Amedi, who is a reservist for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), was injured while fighting in Gaza’s Khan Younis and airlifted to a hospital on Monday (Jan 8) where he was sedated and is receiving treatment, reported Times of Israel.&nbsp;

The actor-singer’s condition was later confirmed by his father in an interview with the Walla news site. He said his son was no longer in danger.&nbsp;

The 35-year-old was born and raised in Jerusalem to Kurdish immigrants and is married with two children.&nbsp;

A report by Times of Israel citing Hebrew media reported that Amedi was brought to Sheba Medical Center in the Israeli city of Ramat Gan at around 4:00 pm (local time), on Monday.

He reportedly underwent urgent, serious and lengthy surgery.&nbsp;

The actor-singer, who had completed his mandatory military service in the IDF Combat Engineering Corps’ 603rd Battalion between 2006 and 2009, spoke to an Israeli television reporter in Gaza who described him as “a little tired, but fine.”

When asked about the Hamas tunnels that his team was working to uncover, the IDF reservist said, “It’s crazy, what they built here.”&nbsp;

He added, “The operation here is on a very central (Hamas tunnel) route. We found kilometres of tunnels here, weaponry, even special weaponry. We’ve been busy the past two days trying to destroy it.”

On October 12, amid a call-up of more than 300,000 reservists, Amedi posted a video on X where he was seen wearing military fatigues and saying, “This isn’t a scene from Fauda, it’s real life.”&nbsp;

Israel-Hamas war: ‘Fauda’ actor Idan Amedi ‘seriously injured’ while fighting in Gaza

Last year witnessed the highest number of civilian casualties, killed or injured, by airstrikes, bombs or artillery than any other year for more than a decade, according to an annual study.&nbsp;

The report by the United Kingdom-based monitoring group said that the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza significantly contributed to this record-high number.&nbsp;

<h2>122% rise in civilian fatalities</h2>

Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), a London-based charity in its annual report recorded a 122 per cent rise in civilian fatalities caused by explosives last year.&nbsp;

In 2023, according to the report, 33,846 non-combatants had been killed or wounded, the largest number it had counted since it began conducting its annual survey in 2010.&nbsp;

Notably, the total casualty levels recorded last year exceeded the number witnessed at the height of the Syrian civil war and early stages of the Western campaign against the Islamic State, between 2013 and 2017. During this time, the number of total killed and injured was regularly over 30,000.

“Last year proved to be the most harmful to civilians from explosive violence since our monitor began in 2010,” Iain Overton, the group’s executive director.

Last year, the AOAV also identified at least 7,307 explosive incidents across the world, which is up from 4,322 recorded in 2022.&nbsp;

There was a 226 per cent rise in the use of air-launched weapons across the world in 2023, according to the London-based charity.&nbsp;

The report, according to the AOAV, is based on data collected from reputable media organisations.&nbsp;

<h2>Israel-Hamas war a ‘major cause’</h2>

AOAV describes the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza as a “major cause for such a dramatic increase” in civilian casualties accounting for around one-third of the global total.&nbsp;

The UK-based organisation recorded 920 incidents of explosive weapons use in Gaza, resulting in the death of 9,334 people.&nbsp;

While the staggering rise has mainly been attributed to the Israel-Hamas war, ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Sudan also contributed significantly to the total number of civilian casualties.&nbsp;

Speaking about the ongoing war in Gaza, Overton noted that since Hamas launched its surprise attack against Israel, on October 7 there had been “a massive spike” in incidents during Israel’s retaliatory attacks.&nbsp;

He added, “Gaza almost overwhelmed our capacity to record each individual and injurious reported strike.”

The AOAV director also said that the data should be a stark warning to states that using explosive weapons in urban areas disproportionately impacts civilians.&nbsp;

The report also dubbed Israel as the “most injurious state actor in 2023” with more than 1,000 attacks leading to 12,950 civilian casualties, both killed and injured. Israel’s Swords of Iron operation reportedly accounted for 37 per cent of all civilian casualties last year.&nbsp;

Israel was followed by Russia with its war in Ukraine causing 8,351 civilian casualties, according to AOAV.&nbsp;

Last year witnessed the highest number of civilian casualties, killed or injured, by airstrikes, bombs or artillery than any other year for more than a decade, according to an annual study. The report by the United Kingdom-based monitoring group said that the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza significantly contributed to this record-high number. 122% rise in civilian fatalities Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), a London-based charity in its annual report recorded a 122 per cent rise in civilian fatalities caused by explosives last year. In 2023, according to the report, 33,846 non-combatants had been killed or wounded, the largest number it had counted since it began conducting its annual survey in 2010. During this time, the number of total killed and injured was regularly over 30,000. “Last year proved to be the most harmful to civilians from explosive violence since our monitor began in 2010,” Iain Overton, the group’s executive director. Last year, the AOAV also identified at least 7,307 explosive incidents across the world, which is up from 4,322 recorded in 2022. There was a 226 per cent rise in the use of air-launched weapons across the world in 2023, according to the London-based charity. The report, according to the AOAV, is based on data collected from reputable media organisations. The UK-based organisation recorded 920 incidents of explosive weapons use in Gaza, resulting in the death of 9,334 people. While the staggering rise has mainly been attributed to the Israel-Hamas war, ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Sudan also contributed significantly to the total number of civilian casualties. He added, “Gaza almost overwhelmed our capacity to record each individual and injurious reported strike.” The AOAV director also said that the data should be a stark warning to states that using explosive weapons in urban areas disproportionately impacts civilians. The report also dubbed Israel as the “most injurious state actor in 2023” with more than 1,000 attacks leading to 12,950 civilian casualties, both killed and injured. Israel’s Swords of Iron operation reportedly accounted for 37 per cent of all civilian casualties last year. Blinken, as per AFP, will also speak to Israeli officials as he seeks to prevent the Gaza conflict from widening. During his visit, Washington’s top diplomat is also expected to put pressure on Israel’s government to reduce civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip.

The recent visit by Washington’s top diplomat will be the latest in a long parade of officials from the Biden administration going to Tel Aviv to meet Israeli government officials. This is Blinken’s fifth visit to Israel since the beginning of the war.&nbsp;

“We have completed the dismantling of the Hamas military framework in the northern Gaza Strip,” Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in an online briefing, adding that the Israeli forces killed around 8,000 militants in that area.

“Fighting will continue during 2024. We are operating according to a plan to achieve the war’s goals, to dismantle Hamas in the north and south,” he added.&nbsp;

Israel launched retaliatory attacks against Hamas in Gaza after Palestinian militants from the strip attacked Israel on October 7 killing at least 1,200 people and taking around 240 hostages, according to Israeli officials. More than 100 hostages are still believed to be held by Hamas.

Earlier on Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would continue its campaign to “eliminate Hamas, return our hostages and ensure that Gaza will no longer be a threat to Israel”.&nbsp;

He added, “The war must not be stopped until we achieve all of the goals.”&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Israeli forces confirming the airstrike said that the aircraft&nbsp;fired on Palestinian militants who had attacked troops in the West Bank on Sunday (Jan 7).&nbsp;

An Israeli border police officer was killed and others wounded when their vehicle was hit by an explosive device during operations in the West Bank city of Jenin, said the Israeli police and military.&nbsp;
