The third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia that was earlier scheduled to take place at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala has now been shifted to Indore, and will take place on the slated dates only – from March 1st to 5th. The BCCI made this decision on Monday following the latest inspection of Dharamsala ground that was deemed not ready to host an international match because of the relaid outfield. Indore alongside Vizag and Pune was kept as one of the backup venue options for this case scenario only.

The BCCI in the statement said, "Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully."

While Dharamsala had played host to several international white-ball matches in addition to many IPL games in the past, it hosted just one Test match – that too between India and Australia during the 2016/17 Border-Gavaskar series. However, the Holkar stadium in Indore had also hosted only two Tests – against New Zealand in 2016 and versus Bangladesh in 2019. The ground recently hosted an ODI against New Zealand that India won by 90 runs.

Meanwhile, India leads the four-match series 1-0 following an innings and 132-run win over Australia in the Nagpur Test. Captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 120 while the&nbsp;Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin returned with five-wicket hauls in the first and second innings, respectively. While the officials confirmed that the payment will be made by then, they paid INR 3.2 million (INR 32 lakhs)&nbsp;to settle the matter ahead of the series finale between Team India and South Africa.

In addition, the IMC team demanded entertainment tax for previous matches. It is to be noted that&nbsp;the tax liability of those encounters is not the&nbsp;MPCA's responsibility but on the organisers. The entertainment tax for Tuesday's T20I can only be paid after the match since the final ticket sale won't be known before that.

We decided to settle their tax demand ahead of the due date because we did not want anything to come in the way of organizing the match. Ahilyabai was born on May 31, 1725 in Chaundi (Ahmednagar) in Maharashtra. 18th century was the time when the Maratha military power had rapidly filled the vacuum formed after death of Aurangzeb, often referred to&nbsp;as the last great Mughal Emperor. The Marathas had long crossed their traditional heartland and had north India within their firm grip. In such a situation, though Peshwa, ruling from Pune, was the leader of the empire, powerful Maratha families like Sindhia (Shinde) and Holkar had carved their own realms within the Maratha empire in Gwalior and Indore respectively. Malhar Rao Holkar was a prominent lord in Malwa region.

Ahilyabai's father Mankoji Shinde home-schooled her and taught her to read and write. This was a time when educating women was frowned upon in India.&nbsp;

Ahilya was not born in a royal family, but a chance encounter saw her being daughter-in-law of the Holkars.

While on his way to Pune, Malhar Rao Holkar saw young Ahilya feeding the poor near a temple. So impressed was he with her that he asked her hand for a marriage to his son Khanderao Holkar. As it was customary during the medieval period. Both of them were married at a young age in 1733.

Her husband was killed in a battle at Kumbher in 1754. Malhar Rao Holkar, Ahilyabai's father-in-law, stood firmly by her side and forbade her from performing the sati ritual after her husband's death.

Ahilyabai was ahead of her time and under the tutelage of Malhar Rao, mastered the arts of politics and administration and statecraft.

Her important contribution remains renovation of Kashi Vishwanath temple in present-day Varanasi. She improved conditions in Malwa and&nbsp;helped restore Hindu places of worship in north India. Ahilyabai ascended to the throne on December 11, 1767.

In addition to being a politician, Ahilyabai was a warrior. A skilled archer, she was a horse rider.

After the death of Malhar Rao Holkar, the great patriarch and powerful lord, powers around Malwa started encircling Holkar domain thinking it was ripe for taking.

But Ahilyabai Holkar's able leadership saw the Holkar army defeat all adversaries.

Ahilyabai's prowess as a ruler and spirituality has impressed British historians and poets alike.

“Ahilyabai Holkar, the 'philosopher-queen' of Malwa, had evidently been an acute observer of the wider political scene.” says British historian John Keyas.

“In latter days from Brahma came, To rule our land, a noble Dame, Kind was her heart, and bright her fame, And Ahlya was her honoured name,” wrote Scottish poetess Joanna Bailie in 1849.

During an India vs Bangladesh Test match in Indore, India, a fan of Kohli suddenly climbed the fence during the drinks break and ran to the pitch.&nbsp;

The incident happened on November 16, 2019, on Day 3 of the first Test that India won&nbsp;by an innings and 130 runs.

The fan had "VK" and number 18 painted on his back and he tried to touch the feet of the cricketers.&nbsp;

As soon as the security personnel approached him to take him out of the field, Virat was seen requesting&nbsp;them to be kind to him.&nbsp;

Kohli, who enjoys a massive fan following also put his hand around the fan's neck and the moment won&nbsp;million of hearts.&nbsp;

Indore has become a major coronavirus hotspot in the country with more than 700 positive cases. As a result, the city administration will survey all the residents for COVID-19. Indore is one of the most populous cities in the country with a population of more than 28 lakhs.

According to reports, the total number of cases reported in Indore is 707, it is the third highest below Mumbai and New Delhi. Most of the cases have no travel history or contact. Health workers in the state are trying to figure out the epicentre of the outbreak in the city.&nbsp;

Health workers in the city have been affected by the novel coronavirus, but the cases resurfaced in the hospitals who did not&nbsp;have personal protective equipment (PPE).&nbsp;

The city constitutes more than half of the state's cases. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 1,163 confirmed cases.&nbsp;

The death toll due to coronavirus rose to 437 and the number of cases to 13,387 in the country on Friday, according to the Union Health Ministry.

"The fact that urban sanitation had never before been brought to the centre-stage spoke of the common perception that cleaning urban India was an impossible task. These states and cities have risen to that challenge," Puri said.

"To ensure that the momentum and efforts are sustained, we are actively considering the idea of continuing this initiative by having periodic rankings based on data being provided by cities and citizens' feedback," he added.&nbsp;

&nbspA man arrested for<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/four-months-old-baby-raped-killed-in-indore-131805"> allegedly raping and killing a four-month-old infant </a>was Saturday assaulted by people when he was being taken to a magisterial court in Indore, officials said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) BPS Parihar said the accused did not sustain any injury in the attack.

Amid outrage over the rape-murder of the infant, the State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh has asked lawyers in Indore to not appear for the accused, Naveen Gadge, who was remanded in police custody for two days by the court.

"We had a hard time protecting the accused. When he was being taken to the court, he was attacked and slapped (by people present there). The same thing was repeated when he came out of the court," Inspector Avinash Singh Senger of Sarafa police station said.

"Some women did run with slippers to beat him but we protected the accused. He did not sustain any injury in the attack," Parihar said.

State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh (SBCMP) member, Sunil Gupta, has appealed to Indore advocates not to plead for Gadge, Indore District Bar Association President PC Malviya said.

However, Malviya said that they had not adopted a resolution in this connection yet.

Gadge, who is a cousin of the victim's mother, was arrested late last night from the city, a police official said.

Police had detained three-four people on Friday in connection with the crime and had identified the main suspect as someone else.

But Saturday, Indore Deputy Inspector General H C Mishra told reporters that the police department had found Gadge as the accused in the case after a thorough investigation.

Police has released the person detained earlier after questioning, he said.

Detailing the sequence of events, the senior police officer said Gadge's wife separated from him a few days ago.

"On Thursday night, he went to the girl's mother and asked her to persuade his wife to return to him. However, an altercation broke out between them and he was told to leave," Mishra said.

Early Friday, Gadge returned to the family, which earns its livelihood selling balloons, when they were sleeping under an open space near the historic Rajwada Palace, and abducted the girl, the DIG said.

"CCTV images show he carried the baby on his shoulder and took her to the basement of a commercial building, around 50 metres away from where her family was sleeping," Mishra said.

After raping the child, he threw her on the ground from a height and she died, he said.

Her body was found in the basement yesterday afternoon.

The post-mortem of the girl, conducted at the state-run MY Hospital in Indore, suggested she might have been raped before being killed as her private parts bore injury marks, a source said.

Mishra also said the department had suspended a policeman attached to Sarafa police station for alleged dereliction of duty.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Trilok Singh Varkadhe has been accused by the girl's family of not registering a complaint when they approached him.

"When the worried parents came to the police station Saturday morning to file a complaint about their missing child, the ASI turned them away and asked them to come in the afternoon when the inspector-in-charge would register an FIR," DIG Mishra said.&nbsp

Madhya Pradesh: Four-month-old allegedly raped, killed in Indore

The owner of the hotel, which collapsed here last week killing 10 people, was today arrested in connection with the incident, police said.

Shankar Paryani, 55, who carried a reward of Rs 10,000, was arrested and charged under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Indore Ranger Deputy Inspector General of Police HC Mishra told PTI.

Mishra said that Paryani was booked because he was running the 60-year-old hotel, situated near the Sarvate bus stand, despite knowing that the three-story structure was dilapidated and posed a risk to the lives of people.

Eyewitnesses had earlier told police that the hotel collapsed after a speeding car hit one of its main load-bearing pillars on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, in a statement issued from Delhi today, sought strict action against those responsible for the tragedy.

Officials said that she spoke to local authorities over phone and asked them to ensure that such incidents did not recur.

Separate teams of the district administration, as well as municipal authorities, are investigating the incident, officials said.

Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, who was back on the mat after the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, won a gold medal in men&#39;s 74-kilogram freestyle competition of National Wrestling championship in Indore.

Bangladesh will also play a one-off Test during the season, their first such outing in India since they gained Test status in 2000. 
 
The cities of Rajkot, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Dharamsala, Ranchi and Indore will host Test matches for the first time, the BCCI said after a meeting in Mumbai.
