IND vs WI, 5th T20I: When and where to watch live streaming in India?

Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has urged India’s batters to take “more responsibility” after the team suffered a 24-run defeat against the West Indies in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on Wednesday. India failed to chase down the target of 248 runs and were bowled out for 223, setting up a series decider in the fifth and final match. “The first thing this Indian side needs to improve is how they chase. The batting unit needs to show more responsibility. If the batters don’t take responsibility, this Indian side will not succeed,” Gavaskar said during a post-match show on JioStar. “On a pitch like this, with the dew coming in, you have to show the kind of dominance with the bat that a back-to-back T20 World Cup winning team should, but that was missing completely in this game.” Batting first, the West Indies posted a massive total of 247/3, thanks to Shai Hope’s unbeaten 102 off 50 balls. Sherfane Rutherford also remained not out on 49 off 26 deliveries, while Shimron Hetmyer contributed 33 off just 12 balls. India got off to a strong start in the chase, with Sanju Samson scoring 56 off 23 balls and Abhishek Sharma adding 29 runs. ‘Show more responsibility’: Gavaskar’s message for India’s batters after 4th T20I loss to WI

India opener Abhishek Sharma has set a new record for hitting the most T20I sixes in a calendar year by a player from a full member nation. He achieved the feat during the fourth T20I against the West Indies in Hyderabad on Wednesday, taking his tally to 69 sixes in 2026 and surpassing former India captain Suryakumar Yadav’s record of 68 sixes set in 2022. It took Abhishek 15 balls to hit his first six of the match, which came in the ninth over. Sanju Samson was in excellent form at the other end and faced most of the deliveries early on. The West Indies bowlers also managed to keep Abhishek quiet after the powerplay, restricting his scoring rate to below 100. However, he eventually broke free against Shamar Springer, stepping down the track and sending the ball over the boundary. It has been a mixed but impressive year for Abhishek. India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has criticised the flat pitches used in the India-West Indies T20I series, saying they offer little help to bowlers. His comments came after the West Indies chased down India’s total of 249/5 in the second T20I in Ranchi, winning with nine balls to spare. “On such wickets, there’s nothing for the bowlers. When the ball gets old, there’s dew, the ball comes nicely onto the bat, and the grounds are getting smaller. We’ve seen this in the IPL as well, with 260 being chased in 19 overs. In this game too, 250 got chased down easily in 18.3 overs,” Chahal said on JioStar. “So, what should bowlers do? What is the use of their skill? I feel for them, because I am a bowler too and when I bowl in the IPL, on small grounds with flat wickets, you have an Impact Player as well. Earlier, when the Impact Player rule was not there, you used to see 50 runs in six overs, and 170-180 was a fighting total. But these days, 70-80 runs are scored in the first six overs, and the game is done there itself. Shreyas Iyer-led India will look to bounce back in the five-match T20I series when they take on Shai Hope’s West Indies in the third match at Holkar Stadium in Indore. India will aim to recover from their six-wicket defeat in the second T20I, where the visitors chased down a massive target of 250 runs. A total of 501 runs were scored in the second T20I in Ranchi, with West Indies reaching the target with more than an over to spare. The high-scoring match once again raised concerns about the challenges bowlers face in modern-day cricket. India head coach Gautam Gambhir highlighted the issue, just two weeks after expressing similar concerns. However, bowlers from both teams may face another difficult outing in Indore, where flat pitches and short boundaries are expected to favour the batters. With conditions likely to support aggressive batting, the outcome could depend on how well both teams execute their plans in all departments. Fielding could also play a key role, as missed chances can prove costly in a high-scoring contest. India experienced this in the second T20I when Mayank Yadav dropped Sherfane Rutherford at short fine leg.
