Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday (March 1) that Israel is "fully coordinated" with US President Donald Trump and his staff on the proposal to extend the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire for another 50 days.&nbsp;
During the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, the Israeli PM said Trump&rsquo;s special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff proposed the extension after he understood that there is no way to move to the second phase of the deal.&nbsp;
Netanyahu said that Witkoff came up with the extension proposal after he got that there was no way to bridge Israel and Palestinian militant group positions' on moving further with the second phase of the deal.&nbsp;
&ldquo;He even defined his proposal as a corridor for negotiations on phase two,&rdquo; the prime minister said. &ldquo;Israel is ready for this.&rdquo;

Netanyahu added that if Hamas agrees to the extensions, then Israel will immediately enter into talks.&nbsp;
If Hamas thinks that it will be possible to continue the ceasefire or to enjoy the conditions of phase one without us receiving hostages, it is very mistaken,&rdquo; he warned.
Last night, the Israeli PM threatened that Israel is permitted to return to fighting in Gaza &ldquo;if it is convinced that the negotiations are ineffective,&rdquo; and that a US letter affirms this claim.
&ldquo;Despite this, we agreed to the Witkoff outline because we are committed to returning our hostages,&rdquo; Netanyahu said, adding that Israel still assesses that Hamas is holding 59 hostages&mdash;up to 24 alive and at least 35 dead.

<h2>Hamas abusing Gazans</h2>
Netanyahu, while talking about Israel's decision to halt aid moving into Gaza, said that Hamas is currently taking control of all supplies and goods sent to the Gaza Strip.&nbsp;
"It is abusing the Gazan population who are trying to receive the aid, it is shooting at them and is turning humanitarian aid into a terrorist budget directed against us," he said.&nbsp;
He warned &ldquo;additional consequences&rdquo; if Hamas doesn&rsquo;t release more hostages but doesn&rsquo;t lay them out.

Earlier in the day, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar called the warnings of famine risk in Gaza "a lie" following the suspension of supply entries into Gaza by Israel.&nbsp;
"With regards to this starvation [claim], that was a lie during all this war. That was a lie," Saar said at a press conference in Jerusalem when asked about what would happen if people began to starve.
This comes after Israel issued a stern warning to Hamas of potential "consequences" if the group refused a proposed temporary extension of the truce in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

This came after a report by the Times of Israel said the IDF had drafted a document setting out the numerous worrying signs of Hamas activity in Gaza that night and sent it out to the intelligence officers of seven key Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu and then-defense minister Yoav Gallant.
The report claimed that since Gallant's office was unable to reach his intelligence officer, the document could not be passed on at the right time.&nbsp;
The intelligence officer of Netanyahu and other five staff members received the document. But Netanyahu&rsquo;s officer did not pass the information up the chain, according to the report.

We are very responsible and discreet. It&rsquo;s a shame this is not reciprocated.&rdquo;

Israel has no plans to pull out from the Philadelphi Corridor in Gaza, despite the terms of the ceasefire agreement, an official told CNN on Thursday (Feb 27).
&ldquo;We will not exit the Philadelphi Corridor. We will not allow Hamas murderers to roam again with trucks and rifles on our borders, and we will not let them strengthen themselves again through smuggling,&rdquo; the source told CNN.

"To the dear families, we share in your pain. I pledge that we will continue to act relentlessly until we bring everyone back. Until we return all our sons and daughters home," Netanyahu said in a statement.
This announcement comes shortly after Hamas handed over the remains of four hostages in exchange for over 600 Palestinian prisoners. That exchange marked the final planned swap in the first phase of the ceasefire, which is set to conclude this weekend.

Hamas handed over a body it claimed belonged to Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas late at&nbsp;night on Friday (Feb 21) after a misidentification nearly disrupted the fragile Gaza ceasefire agreement. For the family of Oded Lifshitz, the news was just as crushing. &ldquo;For 502 days, we hoped and prayed for a different ending,&rdquo; they said in a statement.

&ldquo;As his son, I would have preferred to know that he was murdered on October 7 outside his home in Nir Oz, rather than having to go through all this suffering and torture and be alone and die like a dog there in Gaza,&rdquo; he said.

Reviving the agricultural industry will take around $4.2 billion, transport will require $2.9 billion, water and sanitation an estimated $2.7 billion and education $2.6 billion.

The report also noted the particularly high costs of $1.9 billion anticipated for the environmental sector "as a result of the massive debris laced with unexploded ordnance and the high cost associated with removal of debris."
