After Musk reached out with the deal, Twitter is considering the proposal but will not act on it instantly, according to a Washinton Post report. Instead, the microblogging platform will sit on it for another day as&nbsp;there is great distrust on both sides.&nbsp;

Attorneys representing Twitter are wary that the letter might be another clever ruse by Musk to circumvent the legal troubles.&nbsp;

Notably, the supposed proposal comes days before a trial was set to take place in Delaware Chancery Court, starting October 17.&nbsp;

The eccentric billionaire has stalled the deal by claiming that Twitter has close to 20 per cent bot accounts, as opposed to the five per cent that the company claims.

Musk announced in July that he was suspending the deal agreement, alleging Twitter had concealed information about these accounts.

Since then, in a series of back-and-forth events, court cases and online arguments, the deal remained in jeopardy. Earlier this week, a&nbsp;fresh cache of texts between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal was made public.

In the texts, Musk told Agrawal that he does not want to be a boss, to which Agrawal responded by saying, "Treat me like an engineer instead of a CEO."&nbsp;

However, despite the deal turning chaotic, Twitter's shareholders approved the $44 billion buyout.&nbsp;According to Twitter, more than 98.6 per cent of votes were cast in favour of the deal.

Tesla&nbsp;Inc on Sunday announced lower-than-expected electric vehicle deliveries in the third quarter, as logistical challenges overshadowed its record deliveries.

The top electric car maker said "it is becoming increasingly challenging to secure vehicle transportation capacity and at a reasonable cost," but some analysts were also concerned about demand for high-ticket items due to the weakening global economy.

"The economy around the edges is still having a negative impact for&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;that's mostly logistical. But that I think there is some demand (issues) sprinkled in there," Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives told Reuters after the delivery results.

"There is a dark cloud over the auto sector. And&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;is not immune."

Ford Motor said last month inflation-related costs would be $1 billion more than expected in the third quarter and that parts shortages had delayed deliveries.

Apple Inc. is backing off plans to increase production of its new iPhones this year after an anticipated surge in demand failed to materialize, Bloomberg reported last month, citing people familiar with the matter.

"I think that EVs are in for probably a little bit of a rough patch, just because people are probably going to be a little bit hesitant and less urgent to buy something new," OANDA senior market analyst Ed Moya said.

'CRAZY WAVE OF DELIVERIES'

Tesla&nbsp;delivered 343,830 electric vehicles, a record for the world's most valuable automaker, but less than the 359,162 analysts on average had expected, according to Refinitiv. A year earlier&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;delivered 241,300 units.

The latest deliveries fell short of&nbsp;Tesla's production of 365,923 vehicles, which is rare for the automaker which has seen its deliveries higher or similar to production in many of recent quarters.

"As our production volumes continue to grow, it is becoming increasingly challenging to secure vehicle transportation capacity and at a reasonable cost during these peak logistics weeks,"&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;said in a statement on Sunday.

Tesla&nbsp;CEO Elon Musk said on Sunday "Smoothing out crazy end of quarter delivery wave to reduce expedite costs &amp; relieve stress on&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;team."

Last year, he said&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;is having a "crazy wave" of deliveries at the end of each quarter, because its Shanghai factory makes cars for exports to Europe and other countries in the first half of a quarter and then cars to be sold in China.

Tesla&nbsp;again asked employees to help deliver "a very high volume of vehicles to eagerly waiting customers during the final days of Q3" in California, according to an email seen by Reuters.

Tesla&nbsp;on Sunday said it has "began transitioning to a more even regional mix of vehicle builds each week, which led to an increase in cars in transit at the end of the quarter."

Q4 DELIVERY PUSH

Tesla&nbsp;set an ambitious target to produce almost 495,000 Model Y and Model 3s in the fourth quarter of this year, internal plans reviewed by Reuters show.

The company's production ambitions come against the backdrop of increasingly gloomy outlook for global growth, with Musk himself telling top managers in June he had a "super bad feeling" about the economy and planned to cut staff.

During a conference call in July, Musk said at first that macroeconomic uncertainty might have some impact on demand for its electric vehicles, but when pressed for details by an analyst, he said the company did not have a demand problem but a production problem.

The automaker expanded production capacity in Shanghai after a resurgence in COVID-19 cases forced a suspension at the plant and fueled the first dip in deliveries after a nearly two-year-long record run.

In September,&nbsp;Tesla's vehicle order backlog fell, especially in China, Troy Teslike, a&nbsp;Tesla&nbsp;data tracker tweeted.

Tesla&nbsp;said it delivered 325,158 Model 3 compact cars and Model Y sport-utility vehicle, as well as 18,672 of its Model S and Model X premium vehicles to customers during the quarter. Meanwhile, Musk on Friday showed off a prototype of its humanoid robot 'Optimus,' predicting the electric vehicle maker would be able to produce millions and sell them for under $20,000 - less than a third of the price of a Model Y.

Experts were impressed by the speed of development of&nbsp;Tesla's humanoid robots, but they agreed with Musk, who said "there's still a lot of work to be done to refine Optimus and prove it."

In the texts, Musk told Agrawal that he does not want to be a boss, to which Agrawal responded by saying, "Treat me like an engineer instead of a CEO."&nbsp;

The conversation, as reported by Tech Crunch revealed Musk telling Agrawal, "Frankly, I hate doing mgmt stuff. I kinda don't think I should be the boss of anyone. But I love helping solve technical/product design problems."&nbsp;

Agrawal replied by saying that he does not want to be treated like a CEO either.

Musk said that while he has many ideas, "I just want Twitter to be maximum amazing".

"I would like to understand the technical details of the Twitter codebase. This will help me calibrate the dumbness of my suggestions," he wrote to Agrawal.

"I used to be CTO and have been in our codebase for a long time. So I can answer many, many of your questions," Agrawal replied.

Agrawal took a dig at Musk by saying that he is free to tweet "Is Twitter dying?" or anything else about Twitter, and continued by saying, "but it's my responsibility to tell you that it's not helping me make Twitter better in the current context".

"Next time we speak, I'd like to provide you with a perspective on the level of internal distraction right now and how it is hurting our ability to do work. I would like the company to get to a place where we are more resilient and don't get distracted, but we aren't there right now," a defiant Agrawal told the Tesla CEO.

Musk and Agarwal's conversation with Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, is also out in the public domain.

Some renowned advertisers like Dyson, Mazda, Forbes and PBS Kids have pulled out from Twitter after they found their marketing campaigns being showcased alongside tweets promoting child pornography.&nbsp;

According to Reuters news agency, some 30 advertisers including Walt Disney Co, Coca-Cola Co and a children's hospital found their ads appearing on the profile pages of Twitter accounts soliciting the illicit material.&nbsp;

These tweets reflected words related to "rape" and "teens”. In one example, a promoted tweet for shoe and accessories brand appeared together with a tweet in which a user said they were "trading teen/child" content.&nbsp;

In another case, a user posted a tweet searching for content of "Young girls ONLY, NO Boys," which was immediately followed by a promoted tweet for Texas-based Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, reports Reuters.&nbsp;

Responding to the issue, Twitter’s spokesperson Celeste Carswell in a statement said that the company has “zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation” and is invested in resources dedicated to child safety.&nbsp;

She further said that Twitter is working closely with its advertising clients and partners to probe and accordingly take steps to prevent the situation from happening again.&nbsp;

However, this doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident. Findings shared by cybersecurity firm Ghost Data has identified more than 500 accounts that have&nbsp;openly peddled sexual abuse material by sharing or requesting over a period of 20 days in September. &nbsp;

It claims that Twitter failed to remove more than 70 per cent of these accounts during the analysis. &nbsp;

It was later pulled down by Twitter only after Reuters shared the data with them &nbsp;

"Under the shadow of the consent decree, the SEC has increasingly surveilled, policed, and attempted to curb Mr. Musk's protected speech that does not touch upon the federal securities laws. Any objective served by the pre-approval provision has been served," said Musk's lawyer. While the financial regulator did not reply to Musk's brief immediately, it is expected to file its own brief with the appeals court soon. Musk was put under the proverbial shackles of censorship after an SEC lawsuit claimed that he had defrauded the investors by tweeting information regarding his company. Reportedly, on August 7, 2018, Musk tweeted that he had secured funding to take Tesla private, despite the deal nowhere near being finalised. Twitter decided to file a lawsuit after Musk backed out of the $44 billion takeover citing his concerns over fake users on the social media platform. While Twitter said that the number was somewhere around five per cent, Musk claimed that around 20 per cent users on the platform were bots.

While Musk has confirmed his attendance for the deposition, his team has still not made it clear whether he will be attending in person or through a video link. This will be the final time that both parties speak to one another before the trial officially&nbsp;begins at the Delaware Chancery Court.

Urging her to ease restrictions on internet services to Iran, a bipartisan group of US lawmakers sent a letter this week to treasury secretary Janet Yellen.

Welcoming Musk's offer, a senior treasury official told reporters that the general export licence does not cover hardware.

Calling it a bid "to prevent the world from watching its violent crackdown on peaceful protesters," the US slammed Iran for cutting off internet services and eased export restrictions.

"This is a concrete step to provide meaningful support to Iranians demanding that their basic rights be respected," said Blinken.

After being detained for "improperly" wearing the Islamic headscarf, Amini spent three days in coma and subsequently died.

According to AFP, Tesla found out about the issue during their production testing in August this year. &nbsp;

The company also said that the new update is already there in cars made after September 13.&nbsp;

However, the damage was already done for the existing cars as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that it was a “safety-standards violation” which needs to be addressed.&nbsp;

Buzz is building within the company as Tesla is having more internal meetings on robots, a person familiar with the matter said.

Longer term, Musk said at a TED Talk robots could be used in homes, making dinner, mowing the lawn and caring for the elderly people, and even becoming a "buddy" or a "catgirl" sex partner.

The robot business eventually may be worth more than Tesla's car revenue, according to Musk, who is now touting a vision for the company that goes well beyond making self-driving electric vehicles.

At its "AI Day" on Sept. 30, Tesla will unveil a prototype from its project Optimus, an allusion to the powerful and benevolent leader of the Autobots in the Transformers series. Production could start next year, Musk said.

Tesla faces skepticism that it can show technological advances that would justify the expense of "general purpose" robots in factories, homes and elsewhere, according to robotics experts, investors and analysts interviewed by Reuters.

Tesla already employs hundreds of robots designed for specific jobs for production of its cars.

Humanoid robots have been in development for decades by Honda Motor Co and Hyundai Motor Co's Boston Dynamics unit. Like self-driving cars, the robots have trouble with unpredictable situations.

"Self-driving cars weren't really proved to be as easy as anyone thought. And it's the same way with humanoid robots to some extent," the lead of NASA's Dexterous Robotics Team, Shaun Azimi, told Reuters.

"If something unexpected happens, being flexible and robust to those kinds of changes is very difficult."

At an "Autonomy" event in 2019, Musk promised 1 million robotaxis by 2020 but has yet to deliver such a car.

Musk's robots may be able to demonstrate basic capabilities at the event, but it would be hard for them to impress public expectations of robots that are as capable as humans, experts say.

To succeed, Tesla will need to show robots doing multiple, unscripted actions, said Nancy Cooke, a professor in human systems engineering at Arizona State University. Such proof could provide a boost to Tesla stock, which is down 25% from its 2021 peak.

"If he just gets the robot to walk around, or he gets the robots to dance, that's already been done. That's not that impressive," she said.

Tesla did not respond to Reuters' request for comments, but Musk in the past proved skeptics wrong, jump-starting the electric car market and building a rocket company, SpaceX, although some product launches were behind schedule.

IN-HOUSE EXPERTISE

Initially, Optimus will perform boring or dangerous jobs, including moving parts around its factories, according to&nbsp;Musk.

Musk&nbsp;acknowledged that humanoid&nbsp;robots do not have enough intelligence to navigate the real world without being explicitly instructed.

But he said Tesla can leverage its expertise in AI and key components to develop and produce smart, yet less expensive, humanoid&nbsp;robots at scale. 
 
He tweeted&nbsp;on Monday that its Autopilot team is also working on its Optimus&nbsp;robot, when asked about fixes of what it calls Full Self-Driving beta - a test version of its new automated driving software.

Tesla is on hiring spree for people to work on humanoid bi-pedal&nbsp;robots, with about 20 job postings on "Tesla Bot" including jobs for designing key&nbsp;robot&nbsp;parts like "actuators".

"The code you will write will at term run in millions of humanoid&nbsp;robots across the world, and will therefore be held to high quality standards," one of the job postings said.

Tesla has over 2 million vehicles on the road.

Jonathan Hurst, chief technology officer at Agility&nbsp;Robotics, a humanoid&nbsp;robot&nbsp;firm founded in 2015 said the technology "is right now starting to turn the corner."

"Certainly, an important measure of success is do they make money from it," he told Reuters, referring to Tesla's humanoid&nbsp;robot&nbsp;efforts.

HUMAN HELP?

Analysts see more pageant than product. "It's all part of distracting people and giving them the next shiny object to chase after," Guidehouse Insights analyst Sam Abuelsamid said.

"Investors are not excited about Optimus," said Gene Munster, managing partner at venture capital firm Loup Ventures, which holds Tesla stocks.&nbsp;"It's just such a low probability that it works at scale," he said, saying it is "infinitely harder than self-driving cars."

And then there is&nbsp;Musk's own experience with&nbsp;robots in the factory.

During the 2018 production hell,&nbsp;Musk&nbsp;specifically noted the problems of the "fluff bot," an assembly&nbsp;robot&nbsp;that failed to perform simple tasks that human hands can do - picking up pieces of "fluff" and placing them on batteries.

He said the cost of having technicians maintain the complicated&nbsp;robot&nbsp;far exceeded that of hiring someone to do the assembly.

The fluff bot is "a funny example but drives home the point that autonomy often doesn't generalize well, and so handling soft fluffy material that isn't as predictable as a rigid part was causing a huge problem," Aaron Johnson, a mechanical engineering professor at Carnegie Mellon University, said.

"Human hands are way better at doing that,"&nbsp;Musk&nbsp;said.

“They don’t know what data they have, where it lives and where it came from and so, unsurprisingly, they can’t protect. It doesn’t matter who has keys if there are no locks,” he added. &nbsp;

Zatko’s testimony can be a huge boost to Tesla CEO Elon Musk who walked away from the proposed $44 billion Twitter takeover deal after accusing the platform of having a huge number of fake users. &nbsp;

The trial involving Musk and Twitter will begin on October 17 with the latter looking for compensation due to the deal breaking down but Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick, the&nbsp;head&nbsp;judge&nbsp;of&nbsp;Delaware's&nbsp;Court of Chancery, ruled that all new evidence from Zatko’s testimony will be included.&nbsp;

In an official statement, Twitter denied all allegations brought forward by Zatko and said that their hiring process is “independent of any foreign influence” and they give special attention to data privacy.&nbsp;

The sky over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, especially in Lucknow on Monday (September 12) evening, was bathed in a rare glimmer, or what locals call "amazing lighting." The electromagnetic light seems to be travelling in a straight line.

Locals recorded the flashing lights with their phones and videos on social media sites. The pictures and video went viral within a few moments.

Later, official defence sources confirmed the light to be a satellite and earlier media reports said that it was one of Elon Musk's "Starlink" satellites, news agency ANI reported.

Notably, similar mysterious lights that baffled people were photographed in Punjab's Pathankot in December 2021. Before this, in June 2021, unusual lights flickering in the night sky had been seen in Gujarat and surrounding areas, sparking rumours about UFOs.
