&nbsp;Iran has promised to provide Russia with surface to surface missiles, in addition to more drones, two senior Iranian officials and two Iranian diplomats told Reuters, a move that is likely to infuriate the United States and other Western powers.&nbsp;

A deal was agreed on Oct. 6 when Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, two senior officials from Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards and an official from the Supreme National Security Council visited Moscow for talks with Russia about the delivery of the&nbsp;weapons.&nbsp;

"The Russians had asked for more drones and those Iranian ballistic missiles with improved accuracy, particularly the Fateh and Zolfaghar missiles family," said one of the Iranian diplomats, who was briefed about the trip.&nbsp;

A Western official briefed on the matter confirmed it, saying there was an agreement in place between Iran and Russia to provide surface-to-surface short range ballistic missiles, including the Zolfaghar.&nbsp;

One of the drones Iran agreed to supply is the Shahed-136, a delta-winged weapon used as a "kamikaze" air-to-surface attack aircraft. It carries a small warhead that explodes on impact.&nbsp;

Iran's rulers are also under pressure from nationwide demonstrations which were ignited by the death in custody of a 22-year-old woman detained for "inappropriate attire".&nbsp;

Several European Union states on Monday called for sanctions on Iran over its supply of drones to Russia, as the bloc agreed a separate set of sanctions over Tehran's crackdown on unrest.&nbsp;

"They (Russians) wanted to buy hundreds of our missiles, even mid-range ones, but we told them that we can ship soon a few hundred of their demanded Zolfaghar and Fateh 110 short-range, surface to surface missiles," said one of the security officials.&nbsp;

"I cannot give you the exact time, but soon, very soon those will be shipped in 2 to three shipments."&nbsp;

An Eastern European official tracking Russia's weapons activity said it was their understanding that this arms deal was happening, although he had no specific evidence to back it up. The official said that a decision had been taken by the Iranian and Russian leaders to proceed with the transfer.&nbsp;

Moscow had specifically asked for surface to surface short-range Fateh 110 and Zolfaghar missiles, and the shipment will happen in a maximum of 10 days, said another Iranian diplomat.&nbsp;

The stakes are high for Iran, which has been negotiating with Western states to revive a 2015 deal that would ease sanctions on Tehran in return for limits on its nuclear work.&nbsp;

The talks have deadlocked, and any disputes between Tehran and Western powers over arms sales to Russia or Iran's crackdown on the unrest could weaken efforts to seal an accord.&nbsp;

The AI Liability Directive, which the European Commission will announce on Wednesday, aims to address the increasing proliferation of AI-enabled products and services and the patchwork of national rules across the 27-country European Union.

Victims can sue for compensation for harm to their life, property, health and privacy due to the fault or omission of a provider, developer or user of AI technology or was discriminated in a recruitment process using AI, the draft rules said.

The rules seek to lighten the burden of proof on victims by introducing a "presumption of causality", which means victims only need to show that a manufacturer or user's failure to comply with certain requirements caused the harm and then link this to the AI technology in their lawsuit.

Under a "right of access to evidence", victims can ask a court to order companies and suppliers to provide information about high-risk AI systems so that they can identify the liable person and find out what went wrong.

The EU executive will on Wednesday also update the Product Liability Directive which sets out the scope of manufacturers' liability for defective products ranging from smart technology to machinery and to pharmaceuticals.

The proposed changes will allow users to sue for compensation when software updates render their smart-home products unsafe or when manufacturers fail to fix cybersecurity gaps.

Users with unsafe non-EU products will be able to sue the manufacturer's EU representative for compensation.

The AI Liability Directive will need the green light from EU countries and EU lawmakers before it can become law.

The chief minister added that the USAID-funded and Redwings Labs-executed pilot project would clearly illustrate technical challenges, financial viability, and regulatory problems so that the government can develop a policy and take action steps towards accepting this new form of technology. He also shared a video of the drone’s first flight on Twitter.

A pioneering drone lifeguard service rolled out across Spanish beaches helped save the life of a 14-year-old boy this month as he struggled against a powerful tide off a beach in Valencia.

A drone lifeguard has saved a life of a drowing 14-year-old boy in Valencia, Spain. As the boy struggled against powerful waves off the beach, the drone dropped a lifejacket with the help of which the boy was able to stay afloat till a physical lifeguard team arrived at the scene.

"When we arrived what we saw was a kid that was in very bad shape, with almost no energy to keep floating, so I sent over the life vest," Miguel Angel Pedrero, drone pilot for General Drones, the firm that supplies the technology, told Reuters.

"Because of the heavy waves it was a complicated manoeuvre, but we finally managed to give him the vest and he could float until the lifeguards reached him by jet ski."

General Drones is a Valencia-based company. It started supporting Spanish lifeguard staff in 2017 in Sagunto, a town just north of Valencia. Now, it has more than 30 pilots and their drones working with the lifeguards at 22 beaches across Spain. The teams provide rapid reaction support during moments before lifeguards can phtsically reach the person who is drowning.

"These extra seconds are vital in some cases and also allows the rescue teams to approach the person more calmly and cautiously," Pedrero added.

The 14-year-old boy has not been identified. After his rescue, the boy was sent to local hospital. He was provided oxygen in the ambulance. The boy was sent home after 24 hours

According to numbers with Royal Spanish Lifesaving and Rescue Federation, 140 people died due to drowning in first six months of this year alone. The number is 55 per cent more than that during the same period last year.

A drone lifeguard has saved a life of a drowing 14-year-old boy in Valencia, Spain. As the boy struggled against powerful waves off the beach, the drone dropped a lifejacket with the help of which the boy was able to stay afloat till a physical lifeguard team arrived at the scene.

"When we arrived what we saw was a kid that was in very bad shape, with almost no energy to keep floating, so I sent over the life vest," Miguel Angel Pedrero, drone pilot for General Drones, the firm that supplies the technology, told Reuters. "Because of the heavy waves it was a complicated manoeuvre, but we finally managed to give him the vest and he could float until the lifeguards reached him by jet ski." General Drones is a Valencia-based company. It started supporting Spanish lifeguard staff in 2017 in Sagunto, a town just north of Valencia. Now, it has more than 30 pilots and their drones working with the lifeguards at 22 beaches across Spain. The teams provide rapid reaction support during moments before lifeguards can phtsically reach the person who is drowning. "These extra seconds are vital in some cases and also allows the rescue teams to approach the person more calmly and cautiously," Pedrero added. The 14-year-old boy has not been identified. After his rescue, the boy was sent to local hospital. He was provided oxygen in the ambulance. The boy was sent home after 24 hours According to numbers with Royal Spanish Lifesaving and Rescue Federation, 140 people died due to drowning in first six months of this year alone. On Monday, the Spanish police seized three underwater drones that were helping drug gangs transport vast quantities of drugs from Morocco to Spain, reported AFP. The drones are semi-submersible, and each one has the capacity to transport nearly 200kg of drugs across the strait of Gibraltar.

The police also broke down the gang that was allegedly responsible for manufacturing the drones. The gang's primary customers are criminal gangs in Denmark, France, Italy, and Spain, according to the police.

In a statement, the police added that the so-called "drone submarines" in the making process were seized, and eight people suspected of the crime were arrested in Spain.

"The three, two of which were being built and one which was practically completed, was to be delivered to French drug traffickers for transporting large quantities of cocaine," AFP quoted the police.

Spanish police claimed that it was the first time that they seized such devices involved in narcotics that are officially referred to as "unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs)."

The gang is also accused of manufacturing Aerial drones, seized by the police, which includes 12 motors each and a range of 30 kilometres, enough to cross the 15-kilometres (9 miles) strait between Spain and Morocco.&nbsp;

Additionally, these gangs also built fake bottoms into vehicles to transport drugs.

Due to its proximity to Morocco, Spain has become a significant hashish producer, with major ties to cocaine-producing regions of Latin America.&nbsp;

This has contributed to making Spain a key entry point for drugs in Europe.\
