<p>Despite taking such a drastic step against a former US president, Routh had no formal military background but on multiple instances, he had expressed strong desires to participate in the armed conflicts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In one post in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he advocated for civilians to change the course of global conflicts.</p>

<p>"I&nbsp;AM WILLING TO FLY TO KRAKOW AND GO TO THE BORDER OF UKRAINE TO VOLUNTEER AND FIGHT AND DIE," he wrote.</p>

<p>In an interview with <em>The New York Times,&nbsp;</em>Routh claimed to have travelled to Ukraine to support the war effort and recruit Afghan soldiers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In June 2020, Routh posted that while he supported Trump in 2016, he was left disappointed by his White House tenure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I and the world hoped that President Trump would be different and better than the candidate, but we all were greatly disappointment and it seems you are getting worse and devolving; are you retarded; I will be glad when you gone,” he wrote.</p>

<h2><strong>Classified documents case</strong></h2>

<p>Notably, the FBI executed a search warrant on August 8, 2022, in connection to classified documents supposedly kept at Trump's Florida home.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The raid resulted in the recovery of approximately 11,000 documents, including over 100 documents marked as classified and at least 18 marked as "top secret'. 48 empty folders marked as classified were also discovered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” Trump said at the time of the raid.</p>

<p>The former president also stated that her wife felt "very violated" by the search by the FBI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“She felt very violated. I mean, this is a terrible thing. They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else. And it wasn’t left the way it—they found it,” said Trump.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In July this year, the&nbsp;Florida-based&nbsp;District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the criminal case against Trump.&nbsp;Cannon ruled that Special Counsel Jack Smith, who was leading the prosecution, was unlawfully appointed to his role and did not have the authority to bring the case.</p>

<p>Notably, Smith was appointed by&nbsp;Attorney General Merrick Garlandin in 2022 to lead the investigation into Trump. However, the former president's counsel argued that Smith's appointment violated the US Constitution as his office was not created by Congress and he was not confirmed by the Senate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Former first lady Michelle Obama gave a glowing endorsement to Democratic presidential nominee and US Vice President Kamala Harris following her debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump.</p>

<p>Taking to her official X handle, Michelle said that after the fierce clash between the two White House contenders, there was "no room for discussion" about Harris being the only candidate in the race who was ready to take over as the President of the United States.</p>
