Watch: Donald Trump’s viral banger ‘Eating the Cats’ dominates internet

Trump viral song

Have you listened to ex-United States President Donald Trump’s latest banger that has taken the internet by storm? As Trump locked horns with US Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential debate earlier this week, his claim about undocumented immigrants eating people’s pets in Ohio has rocked social media. The trend exploded after South African musician David Scott gave Trump’s controversial remarks a musical touch.

He recently uploaded a video, titled ‘Eating the Cats’, featuring Trump’s pet remarks in a Reggaeton-beat style.

The video begins with Trump uttering the (in)famous statement, “They're eating the dogs/ they're eating the cats/ they're eating the pets of the people who live there.”

During the debate, Trump wanted to highlight how illegal immigrants are causing nuisance to local residents by eating their pets. However, the claim made by the former presidentwasfact-checked in real-time by debate moderators. The ABC news moderator said there was no such evidence or complaint corroborating Trump’s claims.

Lapping up the trend, the South African musician, who is known for giving a musical touch to awkward things going viral on the internet, turned Trump’s remarks into a super-hit track, embellished by sounds of cats and dogs.

Scott in his satirical song urges the people of Springfield to not eat cats and dogs and suggests alternative food options.

“People of Springfield, please don’t eat my cat/ why would you do that / eat something else,” Scott sings.

“People of Springfield, please don’t eat my dog/ here’s a catalogue of other things to eat,” he adds.

While the video has been posted on X by several users, the one posted by @TheKiffness amassed over 7.5 million views and over 80,000 likes.

Netizens couldn’t help but love it.

“Whether it was on purpose or by accident, Trump created the most viral news story of the week,” one user wrote.

“Can we please get a dance mix version of this? I’d like to workout to it! I would def buy that version,” a second user joked.
