<p>Bill Dorris, an 84-year-old man was pet parent of an eight-year-old border collie, Lulu. Since he had a soft corner for his beloved dog, Dorris left nearly $5 million for his 'good girl'.</p>

<p>Dorris, who frequently travelled, died late last year and it has now been revealed in his will that he has left $5 million for Lulu.</p>

<p>He was a frequent traveller and used to leave Lulu with his friend 'Marth Burton' while on his journeys. Burton claims Lulu and Dorris were very close.</p>

<p>"I don’t really know what to think about it, to tell you the truth," Burton told a local media house. "He just really loved the dog."</p>

<p>As per Dorris' will, the $5 million has to be placed in a trust fund and is to be used to manage and fulfil all of Lulu's wishes. It has been specified that Lulu is to stay only with Burton, after Dorris' death.</p>

<p>Burton, who has been caring for Lulu for years, will be reimbursed for all monthly expenses by an assigned conservator managing the trust. These expenses are only the normal ones, and not any of the lavish gifts or treats.</p>

<p>The small, mix-breed dog was rewarded for her loyalty with an emotional reunion when 68-year-old Cemal Senturk finally left hospital in the northeastern city of Trabzon.</p>

<p>Senturk was taken to hospital on January 14 after a brain embolism.</p>

<p>Boncuk, whose name means "Beads" in reference to her hazel eyes, followed the ambulance, and immediately began her vigil outside the entrance, returning every morning thereafter. She was occasionally fed by hospital staff.</p>

<p>Senturk's daughter tried to take the dog home several times, but said that she kept running away to return to the hospital.</p>

<p>WHDH-TV reported that Major, belonging to the German Shepherd breed, was adopted by Joe Biden in 2018.</p>

<p>The Biden family’s other dog - Champ is not unfamiliar with the White House, where he spent a lot of time when Biden served as Obama’s Vice President.</p>

<p>The staff of Wuhan Taikang Hospital had been taking care of the dog and were feeding him but now the dog has been shifted to a dog shelter, as per DailyMail report.</p>

<p>The dog was named and fed by Wu Cuifen, a shopkeeper and a hospital employee. He said: “I first noticed the little dog when I returned to work in the middle of April. I called him ‘Xiao Bao’. That’s the name I gave him,” The Metro reported.</p>

<p>The study by the University of Copenhagen lends credence to the saying "like an owner, like a dog", the scientists wrote in the journal Preventive Veterinary Medicine.</p>

<p>"The prevalence of heavy or obese dogs is more than twice as large among overweight or obese owners (35 per cent) than among owners who are slim or of normal weight (14 per cent)," the researchers said.</p>

<p>Of the 268 dogs studied, 20 per cent were overweight.</p>

<p>Average-weight owners tend to use treats for training purposes while overweight owners prefer to provide treats in convivial situations, "for example, when a person is relaxing on the couch and shares the last bites of a sandwich or a cookie with their dog," the study's main author, Charlotte Bjornvad, said.</p>

<p>In developed countries, 34 to 59 per cent of dogs are overweight or obese, which can reduce their life expectancy and mobility or cause diabetes and cardiac disease just like in humans, another international team of researchers found in 2016.</p>

<p>On average, overweight dogs live 1.3 years less than dogs on restrictive diets.</p>

<p>The University of Copenhagen study also showed that castration tripled the risk of being heavy or obese.</p>

<p>"Castration seems to decrease the ability to regulate the appetite in male dogs and at the same time, it might also decrease the incentive to exercise which results in an increased risk of becoming overweight," Bjornvad said.</p>

<p>The museum also has an interactive touchscreen "Meet The Breeds" table where you can learn about each of the 193 AKC recognized breeds and a kiosk that will match your picture to the dog breed you most resemble. Also, an app will let visitors interact with "Arty" the dog, a virtual tour guide.</p>

<p>All of the art comes from the private collections of the AKC.</p>

<p>This is a return to New York City for the museum. While it first opened its doors in New York City in 1982, the museum moved to Missouri in 1987. The new AKC Museum of the Dog is set to open to the public on February 8 in Midtown Manhattan.</p>

<p>While the museum is dedicated to the dog, visitors are not allowed to bring their canine companions inside.</p>
