<p>The Bollywood remake of Hollywood film ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, titled ‘Dil Bechara’, will go down in history as one of the most remarkable films of all time for reasons more than one.&nbsp;</p>

First, the film was reportedly streamed over three million times on the first day of its release on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar. And, secondly, it was the last film that deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput had acted in before his death On June 14 last year.&nbsp;</p>

Now, in an anniversary interview with an entertainment website, Sanjana Sanghi, his co-star from the film, spoke about having the film being an ode to the late actor.&nbsp;</p>

“It was all supposed to be different, right? Like, all of it! But once everything just changed the way it did... there was no looking back. The day the film released, it created records with millions of people watching the movie on the first day. That’s an unreal number. With the kind of love and respect the film got, how can I have any regrets? It was quite an ode. Sushant and I were excited about the project through its making. We would discuss which colleges we would be visiting to promote the film. We even thought of the songs from the film that we planned to croon during the promotions and wondered whether we would be able to revisit the theatre in Jamshedpur where we shot the film.”&nbsp;</p>

The actress also spoke about her first meeting with Rajput and their dreams pertaining to ‘Dil Bechara’.&nbsp;</p>

“We met for the first time at Mukesh (Chhabra, director) sir’s office, where we did our reading. Within five minutes of the meeting, we realised that we both are nerds, are obsessed with everything academic and lived for the love of food! The other common point of interest was Delhi. While I hailed from Delhi, he had studied there. The performances you see in the film are all because of teamwork as it’s a completely performance-oriented movie. It didn’t boast of any fancy song sequences or stunts, but relied on human emotions and relationships. The one thing Sushant taught me was to save my energy. He made me realise how important it was to conserve energy by not putting in all of it when not required, for instance, the wide-angle shots. He used to call it ‘rationing’ of the energy,” Sanghi was quoted as saying.</p>

'It’s not Seri': Kriti Sanon after watching Sushant Singh Rajput 'Dil Bechara'

<p>For millions of fans who have been mourning this past month the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, 'Dil Bechara' would be a difficult watch. Helmed by Mukesh Chhabra, its the Hindi adaptation of John Green's famous book 'The Fault In Our Stars' and premiered on Disney+Hotstar on July 24. A film that emphasizes the importance of living in the moment is too close to reality and leaves a lump in many of the scenes for it resonates with the sudden death of its lead actor.<br />
<br />
The film is narrated by Kizie Basu(Sanjana Sanghi), a college-going teenager in Jamshedpur who finds comfort in funerals and sadness. Kizie suffers from Cancer, is a loner and has a oxygen tank called Pushpinder for company. When she meets Immanuel Rajkumar Jr or Manny (Rajput), she tries hard to ward off his infectious energy and charm but to vain.</p>

In no time, the two find solace, love, happiness in each other as Manny makes Kizie realise the importance of living life to its fullest. With his charm, over-enthusiasm, and overtly positive outlook towards life, Manny is infectious and refuses to back down much like the dreaded disease they both are suffering from, and makes Kizie see life differently. The two have company in Manny's best friend JD who, just like the two, is suffering from Cancer and going blind. His only wish is to shoot a feature film before he completely loses sight and Kizie and Manny help him to complete the film.<br />
<br />
If one has to be objective about a film that rides so high on emotions, one has to point that the film at 1 hour 40 minutes appears rushed. The editing is patchy and the writing is incoherent on many occasions which leaves so many questions unanswered. There is a bizarre cameo by Saif Ali Khan that may have been an important part of the story but unfortunately at the execution level leaves viewers questioning its necessity.</p>

The film may appear hurriedly put together, yet one easily overlooks it because of the performances and AR Rahman's soulful music. Rahman's music, in fact, is effectively used through the narrative- that takes the story forward.<br />

'Dil Bechara' has a supremely talented cast. Not just Rajput, but others too perform well. Newcomer Sanjana Sanghi exudes confidence and holds her own in every frame she shares with Rajput. We know that Rajput is a terrific actor but its also equally hard to not notice Sanghi on screen. The young actress shows the right amount of vulnerability and confidence and makes Kizie a strong individual who over the course of the film learns to live it up.<br />
<br />
Bengali actors Saswata Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee plays Kizie's parents and are simply fantastic in their roles. They are protective of their daughter, sometimes helpless at her demand and the most relatable new age parents on screen. Wish they had more screen time though. The film is narrated by Kizie Basu(Sanjana Sanghi), a college-going teenager in Jamshedpur who finds comfort in funerals and sadness. Kizie suffers from Cancer, is a loner and has a oxygen tank called Pushpinder for company. When she meets Immanuel Rajkumar Jr or Manny (Rajput), she tries hard to ward off his infectious energy and charm but to vain. In no time, the two find solace, love, happiness in each other as Manny makes Kizie realise the importance of living life to its fullest. With his charm, over-enthusiasm, and overtly positive outlook towards life, Manny is infectious and refuses to back down much like the dreaded disease they both are suffering from, and makes Kizie see life differently. The two have company in Manny's best friend JD who, just like the two, is suffering from Cancer and going blind. His only wish is to shoot a feature film before he completely loses sight and Kizie and Manny help him to complete the film. If one has to be objective about a film that rides so high on emotions, one has to point that the film at 1 hour 40 minutes appears rushed. The editing is patchy and the writing is incoherent on many occasions which leaves so many questions unanswered. There is a bizarre cameo by Saif Ali Khan that may have been an important part of the story but unfortunately at the execution level leaves viewers questioning its necessity. The film may appear hurriedly put together, yet one easily overlooks it because of the performances and AR Rahman's soulful music. Rahman's music, in fact, is effectively used through the narrative- that takes the story forward. 'Dil Bechara' has a supremely talented cast. Not just Rajput, but others too perform well. Newcomer Sanjana Sanghi exudes confidence and holds her own in every frame she shares with Rajput. We know that Rajput is a terrific actor but its also equally hard to not notice Sanghi on screen. The young actress shows the right amount of vulnerability and confidence and makes Kizie a strong individual who over the course of the film learns to live it up. Bengali actors Saswata Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee plays Kizie's parents and are simply fantastic in their roles. They are protective of their daughter, sometimes helpless at her demand and the most relatable new age parents on screen. Wish they had more screen time though. <p>A few days back, marking the first-month post-Sushant's death, Rhea had shared a heartfelt note on her Instagram page about the actor. She has also appealed to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a CBI inquiry into the cause of his death.</p>

"This song is particularly close to me because it was the first time I was choreographing Sushant.. we were friends for a long time but never worked together. I had also promised Mukesh Chhabra that when he makes his directorial debut I would do a song for him," she wrote.<br />

She further elaborated on how she completed the entire song in a single shot and how she was sure that Sushant would be able to do it perfectly.<br />

"I wanted the song to b done as a 1 shot song because I knew Sushant would b able to do it perfectly," Khan wrote in the caption." I&nbsp;remembered Sushant had once come to a reality dance show that I was judging as a celebrity guest and that`s the only time the celebrity guest danced better than the contestants on that show," she added.</p>

The song picturisation is deceptively simple and Sushant who was a very good dancer, made it look effortless.”</p>

The trailer gives a sneak-peek into an emotional story of two terminally ill youngsters who fall hopelessly in love with each other and want to spend the last few days of their lives together. Rajput plays Manny a fun-loving, charming young guy who meets Kizie (Sanghi) at a support group and falls in love with her.<br />

The film was earlier titled as 'Kizie Aur Manny' and was eventually changed to 'Dil Bechara'. The film is the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra.</p>

On Tuesday Sanjana was called in for interrogation by the Mumbai police. A day later, Sanjana shared a photo of herself in what seemed like the airport and bid goodbye to Mumbai city where she was based while shooting for Mukesh Chhabra's film 'Dil Bechara'. Sanjana wrote a cryptic note along with her selfie, hinting that she may never return to Mumbai. "<em>Khuda hafiz, Mumbai. Chaar mahine baad apke darshan hue. Main chali Delhi vaapis. Aapki sadke kuch alag si lagi, sunsaan thi, shayaad mere dil mein jo dukh hai, mere nazariye ko badal rahe hain, ya shayaad filhaal aap bhi thode dukh mein hain</em> (Bye, Mumbai. It took me four months to see you. I'm going back to Delhi. Your streets seemed a little different, they were empty. Perhaps the sadness in my heart is changing my viewpoint, or perhaps you are also in pain)," read her post.<br />
She ended the note with, "<em>Milte hain? Jaldi. Ya shayad, nahi </em>(See you... soon... or may be not)."<br />

On Thursday, though, Sanjana issued a clarification and stated that her post had been misconstrued and that she was not saying goodbye to Mumbai permanently. "Did not mean any kind of "bidding adieu" forever- not to Mumbai, not to anything else," Sanjana wrote.<br />

"I've been back home in Delhi since February throughout lockdown!" added Sanjana and said that her bidding goodbye to Mumbai was only till the COVID situation improved in the city.</p>

Sanjana was questioned by the police in relation to #MeToo allegations which had alleged that Rajput had harassed the young actress on the sets of 'Dil Bechara'. Sanjana had gone on record to deny the incident and clear Rajput's name from the controversy back in 2018. On Wednesday too she reportedly denied making complaints about the late actor's behaviour.</p>

Sushant Singh Rajput’s last movie will be 'The Fault in Our Stars' remake 'Dil Bechara'

<p>The news of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has sent shockwaves across the country. Found dead at his mumbai residence, the actor’s death has opened a pandora box on issues of mental health, uncertainty and what not.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 34-year-old’s mortal remains were taken to Mumbai hospital for postmortem. According to the report, his cause of death is asphyxia due to hanging.</p>

<p>The reason for his suicide, however, is not known and an investigation is underway. The family is not convinced on suicide being the reason as they suspect foul play with one family member also calling it “a murder” and demanding a CBI enquiry into Sushant’s death.
