The "10 auction," a reference to his jersey number with Argentina, which he led to World Cup triumph in 1986, is being held by his family to raise funds while legal questions over the distribution of the player's assets are resolved.

Maradona, widely recognized as one of the greater soccer players of all time, led a colorful and contentious life, which gained him a huge following of ardent fans but also saw him battle drug and alcohol addiction, along with ill health.

The online auction will take place Sunday at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT). Maradona died on Nov. 25 last year at the age of 60 due to cardiac arrest, after suffering several health problems and having previously undergone cranial surgery.

Among the most expensive goods to be auctioned is a house from the 1980s that Maradona gave to his parents in the Villa Devoto neighborhood of Argentina`s capital, Buenos Aires. It will have a starting price of $900,000.

There are also a number of luxury cars, including a $225,000 BMW 750, which Maradona once drove onto a soccer pitch.

The accused is suspected to be involved in the theft of a safe in which the limited edition Hublot watch was also kept, Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said.

After working for a few days at the company, the accused returned to Assam in August, citing his father’s ill health as the reason.

After Dubai Police reached out to the Assam Police with information about the accused, the cops launched a massive hunt to trace his whereabouts.

Subsequently, Wazi Hussain was arrested from his residence at 4 am and the watch was recovered, he said.

Diego Maradona was seen wearing two Hublot Big Bang watches during the FIFA World Cup 2010 when Hublot launched its Maradona Big Bang Chronograph Limited Edition.

The watch has the football legend’s photo, with arms raised in victory, engraved on the back of the Hublot Big Bang Maradona case. It also has his signatures and jersey number.

Over two weeks from Monday, they will appear one by one before prosecutors, accompanied by defence lawyers, to reply to the allegations against them.

The hearings, postponed from last month due to a spike in Coronavirus cases in Argentina, will end with Luque, 39, on June 28.

A judge will then decide whether the matter should go to trial in a process expected to last months, even years.

All seven accused are prohibited from leaving the country, and risk between eight and 25 years in prison if convicted.

Luque has repeatedly defended his actions, saying "I did my best. I offered Diego everything I could: some things he accepted, others not."

The doctor is seeking a dismissal of the case and says Maradona had been depressed in his final days.

"I know that the (coronavirus) quarantine hit him very hard," Luque has said.

Maradona had battled cocaine and alcohol addictions during his life.

The former Boca Juniors, Barcelona and Napoli star was suffering from liver, kidney and cardiovascular disorders when he died.
