Government says Congress politicising ‘routine transfer’ of Justice Muralidhar

Can't let another 1984 happen, says Delhi High Court over Delhi riots

<p>Actor Rajinikanth has said that the violence in Delhi is a failure of intelligence agencies and the home ministry, as the violence has occurred at a time when US President Donald Trump was in the National capital.</p>

<p>He said that the intelligence agencies should have maintained vigil and done their job, adding that violence should be dealt with an iron fist. He expressed hope that the concerned authorities would be cautious henceforth.</p>

<p>Speaking to reporters outside his Poes Garden residence, Rajini reiterated that he would be the first one to stand with the Muslims community if the Citizenship Amendment Act was found to be affecting them in any way.</p>

<p>Regarding his understanding of CAA-NRC-NPR, Rajini said that the government has not implemented NRC and we shouldn't get confused over it.</p>

<p>"With iron hands, the violence must be quelled or they should resign and go. Its going beyond control. Peaceful protests are fine, but it shouldn’t make way for violence, then why do we have intelligence agencies?".</p>

<p>Shortly, after Rajini spoke to reporters, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan tweeted his compliments for Rajinikanth in Tamil, appreciating his stance on Delhi violence.</p>

This visit comes minutes after home minister chaired the third meeting to counter the violence.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed their board exams scheduled today in the affected areas of the capital. Shah said that to tackle the situation, the city's borders with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have been under surveillance over the last three days.</p>

<p>35 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in northeast Delhi. Major curfew was imposed in the areas of Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Karawal Nagar to cut down the violence.</p>

<p>Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the people of Delhi to maintain peace and calm. Tension simmered in the area after hundreds of anti-CAA protesters, mostly women, blocked a road near the Jaffrabad metro station in northeast Delhi on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Several vehicles, shops and houses were torched, as clashes broke out between groups supporting and opposing the CAA in several areas in northeast Delhi.</p>

<p>Delhi police arrested the man, 35, named Amrit Bahadur. The incident took place at about 1:30am on Thursday.</p>

<p>Family told the police that the father has been &quot;mentally disturbed&quot; since the death of his baby daughter a few months ago.</p>

<p>Since that happened, he has had hallucationations about a &quot;ghost&quot; who threatened to also take away his second child.</p>
