<p>"We got to know that the quality of ghee was bad and immediately informed the Chief Minister Naidu," Reddy said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The tender process occurs every six months, and the qualification criteria has not changed for decades. Suppliers must provide an NABL certificate and a product quality certificate. TTD collects samples from the ghee, and only products that pass certification are used. TDP is politicising religious matters. We have rejected the products in our regime 18 times," he further explained.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He sought support for commissioning the Polavaram National Irrigation project and advocated for "special incentives" for industrial development.</p>

<p>Moreover, Naidu requested "additional allocations" under the scheme for special assistance to states for capital investment in critical sectors such as roads, bridges, irrigation, and drinking water projects. He also called for support for the backward regions of Andhra Pradesh, similar to the Bundelkhand package.</p>

<p>Telugu Desham Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the chief minister of south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday (June 12). Naidu is taking the top post for the fourth time&nbsp;after his party clinched a thumping victory in the state's assembly elections, held alongside the general elections.</p>

<p>Naidu was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor S Abdul Nazeer at a ceremony in Vijayawada, attended by&nbsp;Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior leaders of the National Democracy Alliance (NDA), of which TDP is a part.</p>

<p>In the assembly elections, TDP had won&nbsp;135 of 175 seats, while its NDA allies Jana Sena Party (JSP) clinched 21 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won eight.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Naidu took oath at Gannavaram Mandal, Kesarapalli IT Park in Vijayawada, along with 25 ministers which included three leaders from&nbsp; JSP and one from BJP.</p>

<p>JSP chief Pawan Kalyan took oath as deputy chief minister. The son of Naidu, Nara Lokesh, was also part of the Cabinet.</p>

<p>Besides Modi, the oath-taking ceremony was attended by&nbsp;Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Ramdas Athawale, Anupriya Patel and Chirag Paswan; Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, NCP leader Praful Patel and former vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu.<br />

<h2><strong>Who is Chandrababu Naidu?&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Chandrababu Naidu has previously served three terms as the chief minister of the south-Indian state, two in the era of united Andhra Pradesh- from 1995 to 2004, and one in 2014 after Telangana was carved out of the state.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He began his over four-decade-long political career as the local youth president of the Congress during the Emergency imposed by then prime minister Indira Gandhi and won a seat in the Andhra Pradesh state Assembly in 1978.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After he wed the daughter of film superstar NT Rama Rao – who founded the TDP and was chief minister of Andhra Pradesh three times, Naidu abandoned the Congress for TDP and built great influence in the party.</p>

<p>In 1995, Naidu rebelled against his father-in-law over the growing influence of NTR’s second wife Lakshmi Parvathi. He was then unanimously chosen as the TDP chief and took over as the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.</p>

<p>The lowest point in his career came when he was arrested in 2023 under the Skill Development Corporation Scam case by the YSRCP government. In its wake, Naidu joined the NDA alliance after much struggle as he had left both Modi and Amit Shah incensed prior to the 2019 polls.</p>

<p>Now, with the NDA alliance winning a slender majority at the Centre, political analysts have hinted at what would happen if Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, both belonging to the same school of politics, switch loyalties to the INDIA bloc. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The three parties held a meeting in Delhi where the alliance was formalised. Subsequently, a meeting was held in Amravati where the sharing of seats was agreed upon.</p>

<h2><strong>NDA in Andhra Pradesh: Who is getting how many seats?</strong></h2>

<p>The BJP will contest on six of state's 25 Lok Sabha seats, while the TDP will contest on 17 seats. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena will contest two seats. For state assembly elections, the BJP will contest on 10 seats while the TDP will contest on 144 seats. The Jana Sena will contest on 21 seats in the state assembly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The names of the seats will be announced subsequently by the respective parties. We are driven by a desire to fulfil the expectations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh will bless the NDA alliance partners with an opportunity to serve them to the best of our capabilities," the TDP readout added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In other election-related developments, Prime Minister Modi will chair a high-powered committee on selecting election commissioners on March 14. Subsequently, a meeting was held in Amravati where the sharing of seats was agreed upon. NDA in Andhra Pradesh: Who is getting how many seats? The BJP will contest on six of state's 25 Lok Sabha seats, while the TDP will contest on 17 seats. Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena will contest two seats. For state assembly elections, the BJP will contest on 10 seats while the TDP will contest on 144 seats. The Jana Sena will contest on 21 seats in the state assembly. "The names of the seats will be announced subsequently by the respective parties. We are driven by a desire to fulfil the expectations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. We are confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh will bless the NDA alliance partners with an opportunity to serve them to the best of our capabilities," the TDP readout added. In other election-related developments, Prime Minister Modi will chair a high-powered committee on selecting election commissioners on March 14. <p>Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda announced on Saturday (Mar 9) that the BJP, Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and actor Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party (JSP) would contest ensuing Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections together in Andhra Pradesh.</p>

<p>According to a report by the news agency ANI, a joint statement from the three political parties said, "Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has been working tirelessly for the development and progress of the nation for the last 10 years and coming together with TDP and JSP will help in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh."</p>

<p>The statement added, "The BJP and TDP have a very old relationship together. TDP joined the NDA in 1996 and has worked together successfully in Atal Ji's and Narendra Modi Ji's governments. In 2014, the TDP and the BJP fought the Lok Sabha election and assembly election together. The JSP had supported the 2014 general and assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh."</p>

<p>The statement further said that seat-sharing agreements would be finalised soon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The developments came as TDP President and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu held meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in recent days, as the two parties worked to seal their alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BJP is eyeing a third term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has set a target for winning 370 seats on its own and 400 along with allies. The TDP had been a part of the NDA till 2018. However, Naidu's party left the alliance ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The TDP was earlier a part of the National Democratic Alliance, headed by the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party. However, it exited in 2018 when Naidu was the chief minister of the state.</p>

<p>BJP President JP Nadda also participated in the deliberations, as per some media reports which further hinted that the two parties are open to an alliance. However, the final decision depends on whether they are able to successfully finalise an agreeable seat-sharing arrangement.</p>

<p>However, the scope of an alliance has increased in the wake of a second meeting between the two leaders.</p>

<h2><strong>TDP leaders push for alliance with BJP&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>TDP leaders said that any further delay in the formation of an alliance would not be beneficial as the elections are just months away, and any kind of ambiguity will only confuse party workers and supporters.</p>

<p>Another Jana Sena Party, led by actor Pawan Kalyan, is a member of the NDA and has joined hands with the TDP already. The party is now appealing BJP to follow similar steps.</p>

<p>Kalyan also participated in the meeting with Amit Shah. Naidu earlier held talks with leaders, which included MPs of the TDP.</p>
