<p>He also cited a number of development projects undertaken by the Centre for the state, besides funds given to it, as he sought to reject the charge that the Modi government had not fulfilled its promises.</p>

<p>The TDP pulled out of the BJP-led alliance over the refusal to accord special category status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfil other commitments made at the time of state&#39;s division in 2014.</p>

<p>The total investment by the Hero motors company will be Rs 3,200 crore for the motor cycle&nbsp;manufacturing unit in AP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the first two weeks of the last phase of the Budget Session have been a virtual washout, the government has managed to get some key bills and the budget passed amid a din through a voice vote without a debate.</p>

<p>The YSR Congress was the first to give a notice last week for a no-trust motion after the Centre made it clear that it would not grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.</p>

<p>Not to be outdone by its main rival in the state, the TDP, a longtime BJP ally, then decided to break its ties over the issue and brought a no-confidence motion of its own.</p>

<p>Both parties have been lobbying with opposition parties for support to their respective notices. A no-confidence motion notice has to be supported by at least 50 MPs to be taken up in the House.</p>

<p>The government has expressed confidence that the notices, even if they are admitted, will be defeated given its strength in the Lok Sabha.</p>

<p>The current strength of the Lok Sabha is 539 and the ruling BJP has 274 members, more than the majority mark of 270, and enjoys the support of several allies.</p>

<p>With the 16-member TDP quitting the BJP-led NDA, the ruling alliance strength has reduced.&nbsp;</p>

<p>ANI reported TDP sources as saying Naidu explained to the prime minister why he had asked the two ministers to quit and why the TDP was withdrawing from the union government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The row between the TDP and the BJP can be traced back to the TDP&#39;s demand for special status. The status would give Andhra central funding in a 90:10 ratio, with the centre paying the larger share.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said Wednesday that the government was willing to Andhra the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/andhra-special-status-row-naidu-orders-2-tdp-ministers-to-quit-union-cabinet-35018" target="_blank">monetary equivalent</a> of the special status, but not the status itself since the category no longer existed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The TDP on the other hand believes the promises made to it when the state of Telangana was carved out of it in June 2014 have not been kept. The TDP is also under tremendous pressure before the state and general elections next year, with opposition parties in the state saying it has not been able to get a good deal from the union government despite being a partner at the centre.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the moment, the alliance between the TDP and the BJP continues to stand although news reports quoted&nbsp;TDP lawmaker Ravindra Babu as saying tyhe next &quot;logical step&quot; would be to exit the NDA.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While addressing a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Parliamentary Board meeting here, Naidu said, &quot;Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is only demanding the special category status (SCS) to the state. SCS alone is not enough; all the remaining points in the AP Reorganization Act should be implemented. Only then AP will stand financially stable.</p>

<p>The Chief Minister added that if the Centre gave the special category status to the state and nothing else, the state would lose.</p>

<p>&quot;Only demanding SCS, leaving railway zone, Kadapa teel factory, revenue deficit, capital and etcetera is not correct,&quot; he continued, adding, &quot;People know YSRCP has no credibility, it is playing drama.&quot;</p>

<p>&quot;Public sentiment should be respected. It is the Centre&#39;s responsibility to respect and fulfill the peoples&#39; demands,&quot; Naidu maintained.</p>

<p>State unit of the BJP and BJP leaders of Rayalaseema on Friday passed a resolution adopting the Rayalaseema Declaration that sought setting up of a high court and second capital in the region.</p>

<p>The declaration included 16 demands for the Rayalaseema region. The BJP&#39;s state unit wanted the state government to fulfill the 16 demands before its term ended.</p>

<p>Naidu alleged that the BJP&#39;s state unit was not asking funds for the state but wanted to trouble the state government.</p>

<p>&quot;You (BJP) are not asking the centre for funds but troubling the state government? We (state government) are not negligent in consultations. We consulted the centre even yesterday. What is the formula you gave? What is the logic you say that we should ask? It is centre&#39;s responsibility to give what is to be given,&quot; Naidu said.</p>

<p>In addition, TDP MP Jayadev Galla said after the parliamentary board meeting, &quot;What other states are getting under Special Category Status must be given to AP also. <p>With assets worth Rs 177 crore, Andhra Pradesh&#39;s Chandrababu Naidu is the richest chief minister in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The other chief ministers named in this exclusive club are of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu with worth Rs 129 crore and Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, who has Rs 48 crore to his name.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the poorest among all is Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, with assets valued just over Rs 26 lakh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The analysis was conducted by transparency body Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR)</p>

<p>The other crorepati chief ministers are Telengana&#39;s K Chandrashekhar Rao with assets worth Rs 15.15 crore, Meghalaya CM Mukul Sangma with Rs 14.50 crore.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The BJP, which has governments in 18 states, does not have a single CM in the top ten list as six out of the top ten richest CMs are from the Congress and the rest belong to the TDP, TRS, BJD and SDF.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Out of 31 CMs in India, 25 are crorepatis (with assets exceeding Rs 1 crore).</p>

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of Chandrababu Naidu, the BJP's biggest ally down South, is miffed with the Budget and has called an "emergency meeting" with party leaders on Sunday. "We are going to declare war. We have three options - one is to try and continue, two is our MPs resign and the third is to end the alliance. We will decide in the meeting with the chief minister on Sunday," said TDP parliamentarian TG Venkatesh in Delhi. ''We are disappointed with the Union Budget presented today.
