<p>It seems that that the action thriller which is facing competition with Vivek Oberoi starring biopic `PM Narendra Modi`, needs a miracle to boost up its business on the weekends.</p>

<p>The film is based on true events and is about five men who saved the lives of billions of people by hunting down a terrorist, which, the makers have named `India`s Osama`.</p>

<p>The film is being helmed and produced by Rajkumar Gupta, along with Myra Karn, and Fox Star Studios. It is slated to hit the screens on May 24.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Kapoor is currently shooting for his upcoming film `Panipat` with Kriti Sanon. He will also appear in `Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar` alongside Parineeti Chopra.&nbsp;<br />

<p>Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta who triggered the #MeToo movement challenging sexual harassment against Nana Patekar and became its torchbearer says she was surprised to hear about the #MenToo movement, which she claims can further endanger women and child victims.</p>

<p>In a statement, the 35-year-old urged people to give deep thought before rendering their ungirdled support&nbsp;to the initiative, which some vested interests&nbsp;are attempting to launch.</p>

<p>"I would like to caution the Indian Public and media against rendering their ungirdled support to the #mentoo movement that seeks to protect the claims that innocent men are being framed by so-called evil women with a vendetta. Some people with clearly vested interests are trying to start in India a revolution that can further endanger the status of the women and child victims of harassment and sexual crimes," she asserted.</p>

<p>The actor believes that altering and empowering the patriarchal society will create a hurdle in the future for women who will be afraid to raise their voices against any wrong done to them.</p>

<p>Elucidating further on the statement, she said,&nbsp;"Under such circumstances empowering the already skewed patriarchy and corrupt male-dominated society could spell trouble and disaster in the future for whistleblowers, journalists, social workers, and female complainants. What I'm trying to say that if this movement persists then any woman who raises her voice or files complaint against bullying, intimidation, harassment, rape or gangrape and does not have enough proof as 99 percent of these crimes happen in private or witnesses back out due to lengthy and exhausting trials or intimidation, these victims could potentially become targets of these men's organizations and groups."</p>

<p>She further added, "Instead of making movements and public protests protecting men who may or may not be innocent at all laws need to be reviewed and formatted so correct and proper justice is done.#metoo was a movement aimed at social cleansing by public disclosure in cases where legal justice is exhausting, difficult or impossible but #Mentoo can put doubt on any woman putting forth a complaint!!"</p>

<p>"I am proud of both my kids - Athiya and Ahan. They are good and respectful towards their work and other people. When the arc-lights hit you, you go blind and I have always told them to value their work and people. I have also told them to be mentally strong to handle failure, success is not a problem," Shetty told PTI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>His daughter Athiya was launched by his superstar friend Salman Khan with 'Hero' in 2015 and was later seen in the blockbuster comedy film 'Mubarakan'.</p>

And we kept meeting and one day he asked 'how would you like to play the lead in 'Student Of The Year 2'? I was very happy and said 'I'd love to do it' and rest is history."</p>

<p>A sequel of 2012 hit film 'Student Of The Year', SOTY2 marks the debut of actresses Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday.</p>

<p>Ever since the film's first trailer came out, the makers have been receiving flak for depicting an unrealistic picture of college-life in the film. Does he feel that the film will have a wrong influence on his young fans?</p>

<p>"In no means does the film try to preach the wrong message. The film has an important message which you get to know only once you watch the film. We have only shown the fun element of the film in the trailers. The film in no way tries to misguide the youth. I connect a lot with kids and I do action films. I don't urge people to go and fight, through my films. Kids still are able to connect. So films don't preach always," the actor said.</p>

<p>Directed by Punit Malhotra, 'Student of The Year 2' has been produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production. It is set to release on 10th May.</p>

<p>As the world gets together to celebrate Women’s Day on March 8 today, Bollywood’s female filmmakers have been leading the charge of making films that not only hit the jackpot with its content but are also commercially viable. From Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’ to Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’ last year to Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ this year -- women directors of Bollywood now have a following of their own, having carved a niche for themselves.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If you go by the industry figures, their films have an equal pull in comparison to a contemporary male counterpart.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not just this, even films are increasingly being made keeping a female character as central to the plot, think Sehmat of ‘Raazi’, Rani Padmavati of ‘Padmaavat’, Manikarnika of ‘Manikarnika’, Sweety of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ and many others. <p>On Women’s Day, some female directors and actors of the Hindi entertainment industry discuss how Bollywood fares today in inclusivity, changing face of cinema if at all and what it means to be a woman:</p>

<p><strong>Alankrita Shrivastava, Director</strong></p>

<p>She said, “I think the parts for women on screen are getting a little bit better. Many female actors are refusing to be just trophies in a male-hero lead film. I find that very heartening. When Alia Bhatt does a Raazi, Deepika Padukone does a Piku or Chhapak, then you know something is shifting.”</p>

<p>She added, “It's great to see female-lead films be it in terms of female cast, female directors and female producers. These are exciting times for women in cinema and storytelling, perhaps the best we've ever seen in India. I hope in the years to come, across formats, more and more space is created for women to tell their stories, the way they want.”</p>

<p>Director of ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, Alankrita feels there is still a lot of work as “in terms of cinema, better representation of women behind the camera is needed. Having more female directors, cinematographers, writers, producers.... will result in the quality of films changing. We will start seeing a new narrative, newer points of view. Also the environment for women will become safer and more secure. More women on a set, will enable a far healthier work environment.”</p>

<p>She also spoke of #meToo movement that took the industry by a storm and said: “I also hope that the #metoo movement continues in spirit in terms of making people think twice before assaulting or exploiting somebody. And that women who call out offenders are safe, secure and continue to get work. The sexual offenders should be ostracized, not the ones who have suffered the assault.”</p>

<p>Alankrita’s latest offering is web series ‘Made in Heaven’ with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti who wrote and created the show, while Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava, and Prashant Nair served as directors for the nine-episode series.</p>

Women have broken norms, the mindset towards working married women has become welcoming and best of all, there are women-centric films and scripts being made regularly. In the industry, there are more women-oriented songs being made. It is happening at its pace and I am sure the pace will pick up in the time to come,” and added, “This is the change we have been waiting for.”</p>

<p>Daughter of T-Series honcho, Tulsi also feels that “the notion that a mother can't be an actor has also taken a 360° turn. I was married in 2015 and my career has only gone upward since! In 2017, I became a mother but has not stopped me. I have been travelling, recording and having so many gigs!"</p>

<p>Tulsi has several songs to her credit and continues to playback for films and launches her own music albums.&nbsp;</p>

From Reema Kagti’s ‘Gold’ to Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi’ last year to Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ this year -- women directors of Bollywood now have a following of their own, having carved a niche for themselves. If you go by the industry figures, their films have an equal pull in comparison to a contemporary male counterpart. Not just this, even films are increasingly being made keeping a female character as central to the plot, think Sehmat of ‘Raazi’, Rani Padmavati of ‘Padmaavat’, Manikarnika of ‘Manikarnika’, Sweety of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ and many others. These characters not only brought female characters to the fore but quashed the need for any ‘other’ hero, considering they adopted the role themselves. Many female actors are refusing to be just trophies in a male-hero lead film. I find that very heartening. When Alia Bhatt does a Raazi, Deepika Padukone does a Piku or Chhapak, then you know something is shifting.” She added, “It's great to see female-lead films be it in terms of female cast, female directors and female producers. These are exciting times for women in cinema and storytelling, perhaps the best we've ever seen in India. I hope in the years to come, across formats, more and more space is created for women to tell their stories, the way they want.” Director of ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, Alankrita feels there is still a lot of work as “in terms of cinema, better representation of women behind the camera is needed. Having more female directors, cinematographers, writers, producers.... will result in the quality of films changing. We will start seeing a new narrative, newer points of view. Also the environment for women will become safer and more secure. More women on a set, will enable a far healthier work environment.” She also spoke of #meToo movement that took the industry by a storm and said: “I also hope that the #metoo movement continues in spirit in terms of making people think twice before assaulting or exploiting somebody. And that women who call out offenders are safe, secure and continue to get work. The sexual offenders should be ostracized, not the ones who have suffered the assault.” Alankrita’s latest offering is web series ‘Made in Heaven’ with Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti who wrote and created the show, while Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava, and Prashant Nair served as directors for the nine-episode series.
