They also distributed food and freebies with Rajinikanth stickers to fans and well-wishers of the star. Ravichandran said, "We are providing freebies to people every day. On December 12th we are going to celebrate in a grand manner and have also invited Rajini sir".<br />

The District Secretary added, "Next year definitely Thalaivar will start the party and in 2021 he became a chief minister of Tamil Nadu". "If our Thalaivar says to work with Kamal Hassan we all are to accept it and follow our leader," he said.<br />

<p>Ever since the first look poster of Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’, a biopic on late actor-politician Jayalalithaa has been released, the audience has more so appeared divided on whether they like Ranaut’s transformation for the film. <p>Opening up on the transformation, Kangana Ranaut said, "[When aping a person for cinema], actors usually get the apparel and appearances on point, but not the physical transformation. Vijay wanted me to resemble her as closely as possible. She [Jayalalithaa] endured a drastic physical transformation in her life. Having grown up as a Bharatanatyam dancer, she had an hour-glass figure. Then, when she joined politics, she had an accident which demanded that she be injected with huge doses of steroids. While we could not depict all of that, we did take measures [to resemble her during these phases]."</p>

<p>Kangana has previously spoken about her struggle with gaining weight and as she had to play the role of Jayalalithaa, she had to look like a woman with a round face with a voluptuous body, unlike her tall and slender frame. The actress gained six kilos for the part and said, "That was needed so as to look voluptuous, especially around the belly and thighs. Since I am tall and skinny, and my face is angular, not round, I had to take mild doses of hormone pills to look different. Of course, I also started eating foods that promote weight gain."</p>

<p>No Indian star has made a bigger splash in Hollywood than Priyanka Chopra -- and the "Baywatch" actress told AFP she is on a quest to shatter myths about Bollywood, including its approach to sex.</p>

<p>Chopra was the first Indian actress to lead a primetime US series with FBI thriller "Quantico," and cemented her global celebrity status by marrying pop singer Nick Jonas last December.</p>

<p>That star power secured a glitzy, red-carpet slot at Toronto's film festival for "The Sky is Pink," Chopra's first Hindi-language film in three years. It is the only Asian film on the prestigious gala lineup at North America's biggest movie festival.</p>

<p>"People get surprised when they see 'The Sky is Pink' and they're like, 'this is not a Bollywood movie.' Bollywood is not a genre!" Chopra told AFP ahead of the premiere Friday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It really is my quest to educate people in that."</p>

<p>Directed by Shonali Bose, "The Sky is Pink" tells the tragic true story of Aisha Chaudhary, an inspirational Delhi teenager whose life was cut short by a rare genetic disorder.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chaudhary delivered a TED talk and wrote a book on her battle before her death in 2015 at the age of 18. But the film focuses on her parents, exploring how their marriage and love -- and even their sex life -- survived the loss of two children.</p>

<p>Until recently kissing was rarely shown in films made by conservative Bollywood, better known abroad for its colorful musical numbers and fairytale romantic plots.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>'Dying wish'</strong></p>

<p>"I don't think we haven't spoken about sexuality in Indian films -- we do," said Chopra, 37. "I think sexuality is spoken about in many different ways in Indian cinema."</p>

<p>"It's culturally sensitive, yes," she added. "India is an amalgamation of modernity and tradition. And this film is made by a modern Indian. So hence, you see what her language is. This is true to who she is."</p>

<p>Bose, whose own marriage ended after she lost her son, was approached by Chaudhary's parents to make the film.</p>

<p>Chaudhary had been a fervent fan of the director's work, and never fulfilled her "dying wish" to see Bose's previous film "Margarita With A Straw."</p>

<p>Bose told AFP she was moved by the request but chose to focus on the parents after learning of their "amazing" love story and care for their child.</p>

<p>"They wanted the film to be about their heroic dying teenage girl, and I don't feel she would've wanted to be on a pedestal -- actually she was really cool and humble," she said.</p>

<p>Chopra, who does not have children, said she drew on others' experiences, including Bose's, to play Chaudhary's mother Aditi.</p>

<p>But there is plenty of Chopra in the role too. At one point her character is described as "the 'almost' Miss India." Chopra herself was crowned Miss World in 2000.</p>

<p><strong>Global outlook</strong></p>

<p>As beauty pageants led to acting, Chopra, who attended school in the US, said she held onto her global outlook.</p>

<p>Also a singer, Chopra has released songs with US chart-toppers including Pitbull and The Chainsmokers.</p>

<p>"It's a genuine quest of mine to be able to cross-pollinate cultures, and to be able to take Indian cinema to the globe as much as I can," she said, adding: "It's not the language that's the barrier -- it is the fear of the unknown."</p>

<p>Mohammed Zahur `Khayyam` Hashmi, better known as Khayyam, began his career in music from the city of Ludhiana at the tender age of 17. He got his first big break in blockbuster `Umrao Jaan` through which he made his permanent place in Bollywood industry.The musician was honoured with Padma Bhushan in the year 2011 and was bestowed the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007.<br />

He won National Award, and also a Filmfare Award, besides a few other tributes for composing music for the movie which stars Rekha, Raj Babbar, and Naseeruddin Shah.<br />

<p>Actress Yami Gautam is in China for the release of her movie 'Kaabil' which releases on 5th June. This is her first film which is being premiered in China two years after it’s release in India.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Both Yami Gautam and Hrithik Roshan are&nbsp;in China for the promotion of their film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While promoting her film, Yami was surprised to see the amount of heartwarming response she received from the Chinese audience.</p>

Kiara Advani to play lead role in Nikkhil Advani's 'Indoo Ki Jawani'

<p>Director Mudassar Aziz says he is planning to take the 'Happy Bhag Jayegi'&nbsp;franchise forward with a third part.</p>

<p>The filmmaker, who directed last year's 'Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi', a sequel to the 2016 film, said he is yet to finalise the plot in a concrete manner.</p>

<p>"Audience has given so much love to our franchise that we feel grateful to them about it. When you make something as franchise people might like different things from a film. As makers, we have to make sure people like everything.''&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We plan to make the third part. There are few ideas but we haven't worked upon it yet in a concrete way," Aziz told PTI.</p>

<p>The director said after he is done with his forthcoming release 'Pati Patni Aur Woh'&nbsp;and a slice-of-life film with Viacom18 Motion Pictures, which he said he will finish by mid-2020, he will work on the third film.</p>

<p>Besides Diana Penty, 'Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi'&nbsp;also featured Sonakshi Sinha.</p>

<p>About 'Pati, Patni...'&nbsp;the filmmaker said his film is an ode to the 1978 comedy. The remake stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday.</p>

<p>"It is a contemporary version. The original is a pioneer film. It would be silly to just reconstruct that in today's time. Marriages and relationships have changed over the decades. Women have come a long way. When we decided to do this, we knew there is a great potential in the plot," he added.</p>

<p>Production is underway and Aziz said the team is expected to finish shooting by August end.</p>

<p>The film is slated to be released on December 6.</p>

<p>"The Academy is not a company or a corporation... The reason to have an office anywhere is based upon the services the Academy can provide to the membership. So, the key to having an office in Mumbai or in India would be to being able to service the members and the community and expand the outreach. Last year, the Academy accepted 928 new members from 56 countries... The Academy is not just a Hollywood bubble," he added.</p>

<p>Talking about the Academy museum, he said, "The Academy museum is going to open early next year. We hoped that it would open by the end of this year, but due to various events we have decided to open it in March or April probably."</p>

<p>He added, "I am very proud to be here as the first President of the Academy to visit India. Carol and I come from the ground level of film-making... We bring a perspective and an understanding of the film-making process."</p>

There are ways to do it."</p>

<p>The actor's statement came after the release of Kangana Ranaut's 'Mental Hai Kya' was shifted to July 26, only to coincide with the then theatrical arrival of 'Super 30', a claim producer Ekta Kapoor dismissed, saying the decision had nothing to do with Kangana's equation with Hrithik.</p>

<p>'Super 30', based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30, is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment.</p>
