<p>In a gratitude-filled post on Monday night, Amitabh wrote on his blog about making arrangements for the farmers to receive their money. He also mentioned that he has arranged for some 70 farmers to visit him in Mumbai and receive their letters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Gratitude leans across to the desire of removing some of the burdens that farmers continue to suffer from... It was Maharashtra first, when over 350 farmers loans were taken care of... now it's UP and 1398 of them that had outstanding of loans on banks has been done with an outlay of 4.05 crore.</p>

<p>"And the inner peace it generates when the desired is completed," he wrote.</p>

Mr Bachchan and Aamir have been people who have constantly contributed to the excellence of cinema," SRK said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The greatest contribution to Hindi cinema in the last 10 years has been from Aamir, and with Amitji, it’s been even longer. Now if a film of theirs (Thugs of Hindostan) doesn’t reach the level that you expected it to, does it take away from what they have done for cinema? I think some people have been a little too harsh. It’s heartbreaking. It doesn’t mean that their spirit is broken, they are all amazing artistes who will bounce back."</p>

And if there’s anyone who can put in even more effort than Aamir — which Aamir will also agree — it’s Amitji... and at this age! So they’ve come in with good hearts and great talent and tried to make a film which tries to open up a new genre. I may be speaking out of turn, but just like we have embraced 'Stree', we need to give some leeway to films like Thugs… that attempt something different."&nbsp;</p>

"An adventure film has not been made in India in decades… probably 'Parasmani' (1963) in black and white was the last one. <p>The Bar Council of Delhi has issued a legal notice to Amitabh Bachchan for donning a lawyer’s attire in an advertisement. As seen in the ad of a spices brand, Amitabh sports the official uniform of a lawyer which didn’t go down well with the Bar Council.<br />

The notice stated that respondents have failed to take due precautions before using the lawyer's attire and are liable for legal action for telecasting the advertisement without any authority.<br />
&nbsp;<br />
The notice reads: “You are required to immediately stop all such advertisements and also give an undertaking to the Bar Council of Delhi, Bar Council of India and other states Bar Councils that the lawyers' attire shall not be used in any advertisement in future.”<br />
&nbsp;<br />
The Bar Council also asked the respondents to give an undertaking in 10 days, failing which further action will be initiated.<br />
&nbsp;<br />
This is the second time when Amitabh’s ad faced legal action. Earlier, an ad featuring him and daughter Shweta Bachchan had to be withdrawn after legal action was threatened against them for portraying bank employees in a negative light.&nbsp;</p>

The Bar Council of Delhi has issued a legal notice to Amitabh Bachchan for donning a lawyer’s attire in an advertisement. As seen in the ad of a spices brand, Amitabh sports the official uniform of a lawyer which didn’t go down well with the Bar Council. The notice stated that respondents have failed to take due precautions before using the lawyer's attire and are liable for legal action for telecasting the advertisement without any authority. The notice reads: “You are required to immediately stop all such advertisements and also give an undertaking to the Bar Council of Delhi, Bar Council of India and other states Bar Councils that the lawyers' attire shall not be used in any advertisement in future.” The Bar Council also asked the respondents to give an undertaking in 10 days, failing which further action will be initiated. This is the second time when Amitabh’s ad faced legal action. Earlier, an ad featuring him and daughter Shweta Bachchan had to be withdrawn after legal action was threatened against them for portraying bank employees in a negative light.

"When I tried to escape they called the media, they called some people to mob lynch and attack my car. My parents were there inside and even I was inside, it was horrific. So from harassment situation to a mob lynching situation..."<br />

Thugs of Hindostan: Katrina Kaif looks stunning as Suraiyya

<p>A group of public health experts have urged superstar Amitabh Bachchan to dissociate himself from promoting Horlicks, a multinational brand that has extended support to the Centre's recently launched National Nutrition Mission aimed at addressing the issue of undernutrition in the country.</p>

<p>The experts under the banner of the Nutrition Advocacy in Public Interest - India (NAPi) in a letter to the actor said, "Horlicks is a high sugar product, as 100 gram of a popularly advertised pack of Horlicks Delight, contains 78 gram of carbohydrates of which 32 grams is sucrose sugar".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is harmful for children as it may contribute to childhood obesity and non-communicable disease in later life," the experts said.</p>

<p>They said the WHO recommends a reduced daily intake of free sugars throughout the life course to less than 10 per cent of total energy intake.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Furthermore, in the interest of good health WHO suggests intake of free sugars to below 5 per cent of total energy intake, the letter stated.</p>

<p>The letter mentioned that in 2016, the World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted a Resolution 69.9 that recommends ending inappropriate promotion of foods for children from ages 6-36 months based on WHO and FAO dietary guidelines.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Going by this recommendation promotion of Horlicks falls in category of inappropriate as they use false health claims in TV commercials," they said, adding that it dents Bachchan's image as a socially responsible celebrity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I fear that this campaign may have serious adverse repercussions: Horlicks is expensive and is likely to drain pockets of marginalized families under the misbelief that Horlicks is a good nutritious product for children as it is endorsed by Mr Bachchan. Thus Horlicks may displace healthy real family home foods and this way contravenes tackling the problem of undernutrition among children," said Dr Arti Maria, Head of Neonatology Department, RML hospital here.</p>

<p>Dr Aseem Malhotra, a renowned British cardiologist and author of?The Pioppi Diet? and former Director of Action on Sugar, UK, said high sugar foods/beverages should be prohibited for children as sugar has no nutritional value and that there is increasing evidence that added sugar increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and fatty liver.</p>

<p>Claiming that the campaign was misleading and undermines optimal nutrition, the experts urged the actor to call off his association with Horlicks.</p>

<p>Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter yesterday requesting the microblogging website to give his numbers of followers a boost.</p>

<p>The 75-year old veteran actor posted a picture of himself along with a post which noted that he has been doing everything possible but the number of followers is not increasing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Twitter ji, please increase my numbers now, have been posting so much for so long, if anything else needs to be done to increase the followers, please tell me," read his tweet.</p>
