<p>Last seen onscreen in '<em>Badla</em>', Bachchan is a recipient of four National Film Awards for his roles in movies like '<em>Agneepath</em>', '<em>Black</em>', '<em>Paa</em>' and '<em>Piku</em>'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He made his acting debut in 1969 with `<em>Saat Hindustani</em>.`</p>

<p>Bachchan was honoured with Padma Vibhushan - the second-highest civilian honour of the country - in 2015.&nbsp;</p>

The Indian cricket team captain replaced Salman Khan on the first position as the handsome actor climbed down to number 3.&nbsp;</p>

He earned Rs 252.72 crore between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. His earnings are a collective of match fees, the BCCI central contract, brand endorsements and an eight-figure fee for every sponsored Instagram post.</p>

<p>Second on the list, Akshay Kumar earned Rs 293.25 crore while Salman Khan, who ruled at the top since 2016 slipped to number 3 with Rs 229.25.&nbsp;</p>

On Tuesday, he wrote on his blog that because of a backlog, he shot for three episodes of the reality game show in one day. “Yes, sir, I work. I work every day,” he wrote. “I worked yesterday, it lasted 18 hours. It gave me reassurance, love and blessings.”</p>

Amitabh Bachchan shoots for 18 hours amid sabbatical rumours

<p>The iconic film `Sholay` starring veteran stars Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra Singh and Hema Malini, will be screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is going to be held in Goa from November 20.<br />
<br />
The masterpiece will be screened with live music by pianist Jonny Best to honour Bollywood`s Shehenshah`s works over a period of time.<br />
<br />
Apart from the classic cult, silent films like `Pandora`s Box,` `Blackmail` and 1925 Soviet film `Battleship Potemkin` will also be screened in the festival.<br />
<br />
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has shared the exciting news on his Twitter handle. According to the official Instagram page of IFFI Goa wrote, "In a way of honouring this year`s #DadasahebPhalke Award Winner Amitabh Bachchan, #IFFI2019 will have a special retrospective section of his best films, with the film `PAA` opening the Film section."</p>

Cult classic 'Sholay' to get a special screening at IFFI 2019, Goa

<p>Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer ‘Sholay’ is confirmed to be showcased at this year’s International Film Festival (IFFI) that is scheduled in Goa this month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As the film festival completes 50 successful years, the organisers have arranged some special showcases to show Indian movie lovers some of the most iconic movies. The film will be shown as part of a segment called Retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan himself will be attending the opening ceremony of the festival on November 20.</p>

<p>According to the festival’s official website, &nbsp;Amitabh Bachchan, who is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, will be honoured at the film festival by showcasing six of his films. The movies which will be screened at IFFI this year apart from Sholay are ‘Deewaar’ (1975), ‘Black’ (2005), ‘Paa’ (2009), ‘Piku’ (2015) and ‘Badla’ (2019).</p>

<p>Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the news, along with a list of other films to be screened at the festival. Apart from ‘Sholay’, movie watchers can also watch international silent films such as GW Pabst's ‘Pandoras Box’, Alfred Hitchcock's ‘Blackmail’ and Sergei Eisenstein's ‘Battleship Potemkin’.&nbsp;</p>

As the film festival completes 50 successful years, the organisers have arranged some special showcases to show Indian movie lovers some of the most iconic movies. The film will be shown as part of a segment called Retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan himself will be attending the opening ceremony of the festival on November 20. According to the festival’s official website, Amitabh Bachchan, who is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, will be honoured at the film festival by showcasing six of his films. The movies which will be screened at IFFI this year apart from Sholay are ‘Deewaar’ (1975), ‘Black’ (2005), ‘Paa’ (2009), ‘Piku’ (2015) and ‘Badla’ (2019). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the news, along with a list of other films to be screened at the festival. <p>South Indian actor Rajinikanth will be conferred the `Icon of Golden Jubilee` Award at the award ceremony.<br />

"For the first time, a new section has been introduced to display Konkani films. 7 `Konkani` movies will be showed at the festival. The government has allotted 4 additional screens which will enable people to watch 100 more movies. More than 190 films will be screened from 176 countries in the world," the Union Minister announced at an event here.<br />

More than 11 movies that are 50 years old will be screened at the festival this year. Among the 200 foreign films for IFFI, 24 films are in the race for Oscar nominations.&nbsp;<br />

The festival will showcase 50 films of 50 women directors. Javadekar also informed that French actor Isabelle Hupert will also be honoured at the festival with the 'Life Time Achievement Award' for a `foreign artiste`.&nbsp;</p>
