Patekar, who had been shooting in Jodhpur for 'Housefull 4' returned to Mumbai on 6 October and accused Dutta of lying. The actress has now filed a police complaint against him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Patekar was supposed to hold a press conference on 8 October at his Andheri residence, he cancelled it on Monday morning without giving any reason.</p>

<p>After doing a successful series of socially relevant movies, Akshay Kumar now reveals the release of his film on poor sanitation conditions in rural India, “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” -- in China.&nbsp;</p>

'Rustom' uniform row: Twinkle Khanna to auction only costume, without medals or badges

<p>Eleven serving defence officers and eight others on Thursday sent a legal notice to actors Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, accusing the Bollywood couple of "playing with the sentiments" of the armed forces by putting up for auction a naval costume from the Hindi film "Rustom".<br />

The naval officer costume Akshay Kumar wore in the film 'Rustom' became the centre of debate as they put it on auction to raise funds for an animal welfare NGO.

Actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna’s support for an auction involving her husband Akshay Kumar’s naval uniform he wore in the film Rustom has now taken an ugly turn as an Indian Navy officer threatened her for the act. Twinkle has now responded to his message saying she “will not retaliate with violent threats but by taking legal action”. The Indian Navy officer had warned her against auctioning the naval dress worn by her husband in the film and threatened her saying, “you touch our honour and we will give you a bloody nose” and added that what Akshay wore in the film was "a costume and not uniform.” In a lengthy- post on Facebook, the Indian Navy Officer Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat wrote: “Dear Twinkle Khanna I am not on Instagram so giving you a rebuttal on Facebook. Your idea of auctioning the costume your husband donned in the movie Rustom for raising money for your NGO is as sick as your funnybones jokes/book/blog. Your Instagram post on the following idea is flawed on the following grounds. 1. What your husband wore in movie Rustom was a costume and not uniform. 2. Indian Armed Forces wives (Army, Navy, Airforce) do not auction their husband's uniforms. 3. Uniform is not a piece of cloth that a producer hands over to cinestars for enacting roles and make some quick bucks. The permission to wear the uniform comes from the office of the President of India. Uniform is earned with your blood, toil and sweat which is placed on the mortal remains of a soldier along with the tricolour. 4. If you even make a feeble attempt to auction this piece of costume in the garb of ‘UNIFORM’ then I will drag you to the court. You may like to check my credentials. 'Rustom' uniform auction row: Twinkle tweets of taking legal action against Navy officer for threats

<p>The bidding started at Rs 20,000 but soon gathered pace as bidders from many cities began taking interest in the product. The bidding picked up the pace soon after Akshay tweeted about the act and so did his author-actress wife Twinkle. The highest bid for the costume crossed Rs 30 lakh mark during the day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Komal Hiranandani, founder of the site where the auction is taking place said, “Interestingly most queries and highest bids came from smaller cities like Bharatpur and others.” The bidding will close at 9:30 PM on May 26.</p>

<p>At the trailer launch of <em>Nanak Shah Fakir</em>&nbsp;today in Mumbai, <em>PadMan</em> actor Akshay Kumar said that politicians should stop bringing religion into politics.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When asked if he believes in the teachings of Guru Nanak and that if&nbsp;it should&nbsp;be adopted by all politicians who try to use religion to create vote bank politics, Akshay said,&nbsp;&quot;I believe in it thoroughly. There is only one God and that God is yours. To bring religion into everything...it is not done. I hope everyone follows that.&quot;</p>

<p>He also spoke about Bollywood being a secular industry at the event.</p>

<p>Speaking about his association with the film, Akshay said that he has been associated for over a year&nbsp;as he believed in the message of the film.</p>

<p>A small town man from Tamil Nadu,Arunanchalam&nbsp;Muruganantham runs a factory, producing low-cost sanitary napkins. This initiative was not a money-making-idea. It was rather a step to get involved in the sphere shared by females; it had helped him to understand the pain of his wife, sister, and mother goes through while bleeding each month. Of course, the ride was no less than a roller coaster. Belonging to a conservative family, talking about menstruation with his own wife seemed like a sin. Running away from the judgemental eyes finally landed him in a medical college where he collected the used sanitary napkins. His moral never dropped even for a second because he had realised that menstruation was shrouded with the blind superstitious belief which is harmful to the entire female section. He had understood why men are unaware of the female biological phenomenon. He had understood that women of the society had been living a tough life all alone and needed proper hygienic sanitation during menstruation.</p>

<p>Taking inspiration from Arunachalam Muruganantham, writer/producer Twinkle Khanna along with husband Akshay Kumar, took the initiative further. Although the small town guy had gained his fame long before, Akshay Kumar made him India&#39;s &#39;Padman&#39;. This effort was made to inculcate in the society that menstruation is no evil spirit, and is as natural as peeing, which needs to be sanitised properly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Giving Akshay Kumar the lead role in the film Padman was the right decision. Akshay, after all, starred in another taboo-breaking film &ndash; Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and the actor is considered as an epitome of change in society. The film started off with a decent earning of 10 Cr, 13 Cr, and 16 Cr on the first three days of release. However, the film has seen with a considerable slowdown in the second week.</p>

<p>But the point is not how big hit the movie was at the box office. Rather, the impact of the movie in our personal lives needs to be analysed. Since I had expected a lot more viewership to this &lsquo;breaking-the-stereotype-movie<wbr />&rsquo;, which actually didn&#39;t turn out likewise, I ended up conducting a survey asking what people know/think about menstruation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>From the responses of people, I realised that some have been hesitant in watching this film with family. A father and daughter might have felt embarrassed, or the son and the mother, or possibly a sister and a brother. To my shock, few men had answered &lsquo;I don&rsquo;t know what is menstruation&rsquo;, &lsquo;women bleed&rsquo;, &lsquo;Its women&rsquo;s personal problem, why should I know&rsquo;, &lsquo;women are Apavitra (profane) while bleeding&rsquo;, &lsquo;my wife and daughter don&rsquo;t tell me their problem regarding menstruation because of family customs&rsquo;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is disheartening because blood excreted during menstruation is actually what we all are made of. Had the blood been flowed in sewage even after conceiving the fetus, no human would have taken birth. Thus, if the women are profane during the course of menstruation, I believe we all are profane too.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The entire society needs to understand that although it is the woman who bleeds, the course of menstruation is to be dealt by the entire society. Not that men should start to bleed, but just as in pregnancy the husband has a very important responsibility of taking care of her wife. Similarly, while the wife, sister, daughter or mother is bleeding, men should play an empathetic role. The role of not giving her a judgemental nasty look, the role of sympathising her, the role of comforting and proving her, the role of becoming a helping hand instead of shunning her away simply by saying &#39;it happens every month, get used to it&#39;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There will reportedly be a sequel to&nbsp;2004 hit film <em>Aitraaz</em> that originally starred Akshay Kumar, Priyanka&nbsp;Chopra and Kareena Kapoor in a suspense-filled romantic drama.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, according to a report published in a Mumbai-based newspaper, has finalised the script for the sequel and intends to cast Priyanka again as one of the lead characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the report, Ghai had been working on the project for two years and is now ready with the plotline. The report adds that Chopra is also keen to work on the sequel.&nbsp;She is expected to start discussing the story and other details with the team after she is back from her Quantico season 3 schedule in New York.</p>

<p>The sequel of Aitraaz will have a new setting and while Ghai will be backing the project, he is reportedly looking for a new director to helm the project.</p>

<p>Directed by R Balki, PadMan is a biographical comedy-drama based on the life of a social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham of Tamil Nadu.</p>

<p>Muruganantham invented a low-cost, sanitary pad-making machine and is credited with generating awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India.</p>

Pakistan Twitterati furious over PadMan ban

<p>A case of plagiarism has been filed against Akshay Kumar&rsquo;s<em> PadMan</em> after Mumbai based writer Ripu Daman Jaiswal alleged that large parts of the film have been plagiarised from his script.</p>

<p>Jaiswal had tweeted that 11 scenes from the film were copied from his script based on Arunachalam Muruganantham&rsquo;s life.</p>
